Question, currently I have an Oakley Fuelcell and am looking for another pair of sunglasses. I am doubting between the Holbrook (XL) and Mainlink (XL). Also I am wondering how reflective the Prizm jade is because I don't like the really mirrored glasses. Could you comment on this to make this "issue" easier for me ?
Hi Jeffrey! Both are great options! Go for the Mainlink XL if you want extra grip on the nosepad and temple arms. The iridium mirror on PRIZM Jade is fairly noticeable in the sunlight. You can always check out PRIZM Grey if you don't love the mirrored look: www.sportrx.com/blog/oakley-prizm-grey-lens-review/
@@sportrxeyewear Thanks for this reaction. Could you comment on the shine of the regular Prizm Jade? So not the polarized or irridium version? WhatI have seen online is that this version doesn't have the mirror effect like the polarized version?
Yes! Got them today and they fit my asian melon way better than turbine and double edge! 😎 Altså I actually feel that sit on my little asian nosebridge. Found em by pure randomness in my local store when I returned the double edge which was with the wrong lenses :)
Will these slip down your nose the longer you wear them. I’m Thinking of getting them and using them as eyeglasses because they are big for my big head. Is there a difference in construction between these and the Holbrook RX?

Hi there! I apologize for the confusion. I just remeasured both frames in the showroom and the Holbrook XL is just about 1 mm wider at the temple hinge and has a wider tip-to-tip retention than the Double Edge. Hope this helps!
That is a tough choice Jasper! Both the Holbrook XL and the Sliver XL are fan favorites here at SportRx and you can't go wrong with either choice. It comes down to your personal preference on the frame style and overall fit. Were you going to be using these for any specific activity or just daily use?
Since the sunglasses will be used mainly for daily use make sure to get the Prizm Black Polarized lenses. Neither frame has a slip grip on the temples that sticks to you more when you sweat. It will come down to which frame has a tighter snug to your head.
Great question! We always recommend a hard case for your sunglasses but that can be inconvenient if you don't have a bag to throw them in. At the very least you can always use the microfiber bag they come with to protect the lenses from scratching when they are not on your face.
Hey Arman, unfortunately while the 2 lenses look similar in size they are quite different from one another. Holbrook lenses will only work in Holbrook frames. Hope this helps!

@@sportrxeyewear I have always been Oakley fan now that they are made in China I need a new brand to fall back on. I like the Costa tuna alley I believe it's called but at 260 that's a hearty price. Any suggestions ?
We are big fans of Costa and the Tuna Alley is our top seller from that brand. Costa offers glass and polycarbonate lenses for non-Rx orders. So, for example, you can get the Costa Tuna Alley with 580G lenses and it is 259$, or you can get the 580P lenses and the total is 199$. The P stands for Polycarbonate lenses which are lighter and more impact resistance compared to glass lenses. Hello! There's 2mm increase in the lens width as well as depth between the regular Holbrook and its XL counterpart. The temple arm is 9mm longer as well. When you attribute the increase in size to both lenses, it makes for a big difference in terms of fit.
They need to add the nose pads or on the ear legs so they wont slide ...thats the down side off the holbrook there my fav glasses i own 2 pairs but i hate to wear them at times cus they slide off....
Hello Hugo, If you are a Holbrook fan, I would recommend checking out the other Holbrook frames that have recently been introduced. Gotcha! I would make sure to get the polarized Sapphire Iridium tint for the Holbrooks. I just grabbed a pair of sunglasses from our showroom that had the polarized sapphire iridium tint and other team members couldn't see my eyes.
Hello moganfritz! We will take that into consideration with our team! Oakley does offer icon customization for select models on their site:www.oakley.com/en/shop/custom. Unfortunately we are only supplied with the stock color options here at SportRx. We appreciate your feedback!
Hi Chris! The Double Edge has more wrap or curve to the frame and lenses which make it feel like a tighter fit than the flatter front Holbrook XL. Although both are considered on the larger end of the spectrum for Oakley sunglasses.
@@sportrxeyewear that’s amazing. I keep my eyes out for the Holbrook metal to start coming in XL. I have a larger head a 7 7/8 so basically only straight arms ever work. What diference Holbrook and Holbrook XL?only cristal?
Hello! The overall main difference is size as the regular Holbrook has an SFW (SportRx Frame Width) of 132mm vs. 140mm for the Holbrook XL.
do these have the coverage (side and upper) of the fuel cell
Hi there! The Holbrook XL has thinner temple arms and not as much wrap as the Fuel Cell.
If you still would like other suggestions please contact one of our certified Sport Opticians www.sportrx.com/contact and they can offer more recommendations. Thanks again for commenting and reaching out.
I read in the specs they are 2mm bigger? That’s tiny. Is that a misprint or does 2mm make that much of a difference??
Hello! There's 2mm increase in the lens width as well as depth between the regular Holbrook and its XL counterpart. The temple arm is 9mm longer as well. When you attribute the increase in size to both lenses, it makes for a big difference in terms of fit.
Love the xl size
It's perfect for larger heads!
I got a small head but I still like the XLs
What hat size does the main host wear?
Hello! Rob's hat size is 7 and 5/8". Thanks for reaching out!
Are these ballistic rated?
Hi Martin! The Holbrook XL is not ballistic rated but the Oakley Shocktube is: www.sportrx.com/oakley-shocktube-si-ballistic.html
Any plans for an XL metal?
We have not heard of anything yet!
hank you so much guys! Finaly a pair of sunglasses that fits my over siza head !!
Woohoo! Thanks for tuning in!
They need to add the nose pads or on the ear legs so they wont slide ...thats the down side off the holbrook there my fav glasses i own 2 pairs but i hate to wear them at times cus they slide off....
Hello Hugo,
If you are a Holbrook fan, I would recommend checking out the other Holbrook frames that have recently been introduced. The Holbrook metal, mix, and round all feature unobtanium on the temple arms to help keep them in place when you are on the move. Here is our complete Oakley Holbrook Guide: www.sportrx.com/blog/oakley-holbrook-guide/. Thanks for reaching out!
SportRx thanks for replying...im gonna check them out thanx again👍👍
Aren't ALL sunglasses 3 point fit..... ? Lol
Great Review.
Thanks!
Yeah, pretty much!
How reflective is the sapphire iridium on the Holbrook XL ?
Hey Kobe! The sapphire iridium is pretty reflective. Were you looking for a tint that would hide your eyes when someone is looking at you?
SportRx yes !! I am a big fan of iridium lenses. I love people not seeing my eyes as all of my current sunglasses all have iridium lens. I just wasn’t too sure as how reflective the prizm lenses are
Gotcha! I would make sure to get the polarized Sapphire Iridium tint for the Holbrooks. I just grabbed a pair of sunglasses from our showroom that had the polarized sapphire iridium tint and other team members couldn't see my eyes.
Kobe Kieu can you customize Holbrook xl?
Victor Gonzales nope
do a yearly video on glasses for big heads. also WTF does oakley allow you to have purple lenses but not purple icons to match
Hello moganfritz! We will take that into consideration with our team! Oakley does offer icon customization for select models on their site:www.oakley.com/en/shop/custom. Unfortunately we are only supplied with the stock color options here at SportRx. We appreciate your feedback!
how is this vs the double edge?
Bat wolf are the smallest I’ve ever gone but I need rx glasses now to help with eye strain while driving. So no more wrap around lenses for me.

1) Start by finding your preferred frame. You can look up by Brand, Sport, Activity, or simply type the name into the search bar.
2) Once you're on the page for the frame you want, click the box labled prescription, select your frame color, then select the rectangular box that says 'Customize Prescription Lenses'.
