I've shared this with a friend of mine who went to college in Prince Edward Island. Needles to say she was mega-hyped and is going to try it asap. Thank you for always sharing these amazing mods!
Being from PEI, I loved finding the Lost Province map a few days ago. That being said, yeah they really really need to make it an option to turn on or off the buildings/roads on the map. I'm from the damn Island and without the buildings/roads it's really hard to plan and explore without getting lost and uncertain about where to loot next. Still worth the download though, it's not perfectly accurate but it is indeed a large and well populated map so there's tons to do and explore.
@@shifty7629 Plot twist - you visit your house ingame to find its accurately decorated and furnished just like the real-life version and you find a zombie version of you there
I wasn't sure where to spawn because there are no markers on the map so I (stupidly) choose the 'wash up on shore' version hoping I would be put near some places away from the urban area and walked right next to the airport ;-; Or at least I think it was the airport. One thing that helped me is the 'draw on map' mod and I draw on some landmarks like rail road tracks along side marking the general area of the community next to the airport and the houses I am hoping between because I haven't found a 2 story house yet and also forgot I am running the cryogetic winter mod (maybe fitting for canada tho, at least it would be where I live ;-;) and so I might start over again because I am pretty screwed rn
easily one of my favorite maps of all time!!! just wanted to shout out your use of iso to create mindblowing canals, that four-way crash on the highway, and more! reeeaaallly impressive stuff
A few new maps that I've not seen/heard of before. I certainly like the look of 'Lost Province', though my 'pre-planning loot run' playstyle is put off by the lack of building markers on the in-game map. However, if its one thing that I've learned from my time playing PZ (~850 hours) its that putting myself outside of my comfort zone is one of the many reasons I keep playing the game and finding new enjoyment from it, so I'll more than likely be giving it a shot when I get bored of my recently started 120+ combined map playthrough I recently started...
Thank you for this, one of my fav vids by you so far. About 1,080 hours into Zomboid and I haven't tried a map mod yet. I'll be trying Dirkerdam first!
This is exactly what I have been looking for! Recently I have explored and based in basically every town and done tons of exploring, I have used some popular map mods but they got boring or in the case of rosewood expansion, kinda didnt fit in with the vanilla style
As a late-comer to PZ who has barely managed to explore all of Muldraugh, I can't imagine getting in to map mods yet. Some of these do look pretty cool though, I just need to get through the rest of the vanilla map first haha That being said, I hope some of these maps are still valid by the time I get through the vanilla map, because I know that large parts of the map are still subject to change, and there are already map mods that aren't compatible with some of those changes.
For sure, take your time! It's always best to pace yourself with PZ and enjoy the vanilla side of things first. Updates take a long time and mods can help fill the void :)
Really loving the new maps for the server rotation this month. I really like the beach spawn option. Great idea. Maybe on a future rotation one of these non Kentucky maps will be on the menu!
I'd love to play on PEI on the server, especially as a Canadian (BC so complete opposite side, however the BC map for the game isn't very accurate)@@MrAtomicDuck
There are some really cool maps shown here! As standalone and complete map overhauls go I've been thoroughly impressed with everything I've seen of Project Russia (IslandPotato did a great series on it), great attention to detail with all the vehicles, items, and other custom assets! Definitely intrigued with the Lost Province map too though theblack of map detail does bother me, I'm one of those people that likes to explore and discover but I also like having building types shown on the map once discovered in person or from reading a scavenged map. Still definitely seems worth a look though, as they all do really! Cheers, Mr Duck!
4:13 this one, the huge island map I'm definitely downloading. You can add so much scenarios, escaping the main map and get on an island 6 months after or whatever you want.
This migth be a smaller mod but the mount ava mod is extremely unique since its bring a mountain. I went camping on top of an hill while listening to 80s classic with true music and its a hella of a vibe. Definitely the most unique map mod out there
My world map reaches the "size of Russia" almost... 😄 And yes, Coryerdom can be used simultaneously with Dirkedam....with a little overlaping on unimportant part of Dirkedam.
Not sure if you already covered this map, however it's the single best one out there and it's not in this video.Trelai. Check it out if you haven't. It will blow you away. It has a radio channel dedicated, built in lore, you can collect dragonballs, custom tiles to no end, it's massive original and beautiful. Amount of work and dedication to Trelai is outstanding, and would deserve a video by its own merit. With that said, another nice video, thanks!
Is there any small-medium sized standalone ( MP working ) maps? Something that’s just a city or 2 city’s, like cars can be used but not needed, easy to group up and play together on maps.
A map I think would be cool is a map that is based off of those nuclear testing areas liike shown in the one indiana jones movie, except it was originally a regular town that was turned into a testing site. It would have an area on the far outskirt of the 'town' that has a military base and if its paired with a mod that has nuclear radiation or something the like it would be cool to have some radiation zone closer to the blast zone (like areas closer to the blast zone have obvious damage and then areas farther away would be more intact. Oh and the dummies used for crops or posing for clothing? Make custom ones that are 'fake' people with faces and attire matching the area/vibe of the town.
Well, speaking of a non-US setting, right now we got Cherbourg (France), Daegu (one of Korean-style maps), on days someone on reddit also said that he's making a map set in the UK right now, and, of cource, Project Russia wich was mentioned in the vid Edit: oh, also, there's dead in Hong-Kong map mod avaliable too rn
It would be an excellent idea for modders from different countries to agree and create maps with joint locations by continents or large geographical areas following the example of "Project Russia", as large maps that bring together European, American, or Asian community locations. .. It would be great to have a map where you could find German, Italian, French or Spanish cities with their details in buildings, shops, cars, clothes, or objects... Dreaming is free 😛
I don't want a MAP MOD (that adds a bunch of new locations to the map!) I want a mod for the ACTUAL MAP that you open to navigate! The default one is very plain and since I'm so new I have no idea where the hell I'm at even when I'm looking at the map! For example, I would like the map that you open in game to show the city names, have a legend that shows what the buildings are and that sort of thing! Any ideas? Whenever I try to find mods for this, all I find is NEW AREAS instead of making the actual MAP that you use to navigate LOOK BETTER!
I was so down to make my own map until I used the mapping tools, they're straight up awful and imo need a total rework, not only because they're not intuitive to use at all, so without watching tutorials you can't get anywhere, but once you do understand, you realize you're going to be spending way too much time working on something that you could do in a couple minutes if the tools weren't set up in such a weird manner.
I been disappointing in Lost Province and Coryerdon though. Its cool to make big maps but if you mind the quality of the houses and environnements, they are a bit disappointing. Alot of non sensical placement of tiles, weird architecture that doesn't really work as well as urbanism and city layout that doesn't make sense. Not "bad" maps by any means, but for those like me that would really be into details, you might be disappointed like I was trying it.
As much as I love dirkerdam It conflicts with another map addon that I really like , that being Save our Station As dirkerdam overlaps with the riverside broadcast station

Glad to provide! 😄
Which map mod is the thumbnail from? I love that overgrown look and was sort of hoping for an extensive island-hopping start.
That's from "The Yacht", it's right next to the yacht itself :)
Im really excited for the blacksmithing in b42

Hello Mr Duck!
Hello!
Wish I knew how to make maps. I want to see a recreation of Raccoon City in PZ.
