Very interested to see how the contests work for the post this year. I always thought that contests in the post were valued differently than regular scoring moves, but apparently that wasn't the case until now. I always felt like I was able to hit more contested shots in the post than normally, which makes sense because most post fades are inherently contested
I just want them to work as they are supposed to and good post players beat bad post defenders. KG/Duncan should be able to defend each other in the post but they should be able to destroy mismatches and bad post defenders. This year Steph Curry can guard Lob City Blake Griffin in the post if he doesn't get a drop step or push animation. That needs to stop. 😂
As much I would like to use the zone defense and double team to prevent post offense I couldn't in 2K24 because they'll just cook you automatically from the 3pt arch 95% of the time no matter who shoots it...

There were noticeable improvements to a lot of player faces for sure, and the presentation improved! The lighting and court reflections could be better, but still a good step up this year!
Attention to detail on another level man thanks. Would love to be able to truly recreate playstyles of posting guards like Brunson or old school sam Cassel. Or execute a series of pivots like Ant-Man and Kobe. I can see the later being possible with the imporoved contest system this year tho.

So no one is talking about how devs addressed the obvious travels and dpubke dribbles. They said they chose the inproved feel of the game versus realism of the dribbling rules. So either the game is gonna feel so amazing or the dribble violations will be memes.
Depends how the contests feel. On couch coop my brother would just play every center tight anytime i passed the ball to one rendering 90% of what i do useless(heavily contested). If you're able to punish tight play better to where they have give a little breathing room sometimes then i'm ok with it.
The post that I only wanted is the Kobe Bryant post fade fake spin and all the sauces. I can play like that forever on My NBA My Era with my created season with a Mid range of 77. If My Career is the best of any on recent series I maybe grinding Legend. What do you think Kevs? I hate about My Career is its like a chores, thats why I spend too much in My Era because I just want to play play play til I reach Championship and creating Legacy. I hope thay overhauled and put some a lot of love on My Player this year. So Solo players like me can have a chance to grind Legend.

Did they remove Joel Embiid’s post hook? Can’t find it anywhere. Starting to think they’re gatekeeping it for a later season. It’s easily the best animation for hooks the rest are pretty terrible

I’m not a big but I love post plays on my 6’6 build but the amount of times I get contested on post even though the defense was nowhere near me or just standing next to me was criminal. I couldn’t even fade half the time because someone can jump from underneath the basket and contest my fade at the free throw line. But people with 90 speed with ball and A plus release height can’t even be contested on the perimeter even when you standing next to them. Then sometimes my player wouldn’t even attempt to contest with me holding up on my right stick.

Rhythm shots for post fades yes, for hooks i didn’t really try but that’s a good one to look out for. Rhythm shots are super tough, i’ll put the effort to learn them but I don’t know if it will be worth it!
I know this is really stupid... Most people think that #2k took out the percent when you are contested.. So it looks like a setting issue... If you possible can go over how you got the contest system to show percentages it would help the community greatly before the game comes out??? I love post played and post play, but didnt this happen last year? Right away post game was OP got nerfed. This is the problem with 2k, they change their game so much. It makes a style of player in 1 season way different that a later one which is frustrating. In any case, rant over, as always great content.
There are way more mid-air collisions that lead to some good physical interactions. A lot of them are not called fouls, so finishing through contact will be huge. Standing dunks need to be tested against real people, but at least the triple threat standing dunk cheese is dead
KC - do you think the basketball 🏀 tangibility of the ball is increasing at a significant rate? Cause from all the videos I see that the basketball 🏀 is going in a very high rate.

However post hubs and post playmakers are eating good in the nba. Embiid, jokic, sabonis, sengun. dont let anybody fool you the reason why jalil okafor is not in the league anymore is not because hes a post up player its because hes nothing more than that. granted i get that youre prolly just saying that its not the focal point of any offense anymore but i would say that it still a valued skill even in todays nba. Being able to efficiently score on a mismatch in the post is super effective advantage creation and that doesnt have to come from the bigs necessarily. im pretty sure if luka had 4 shooters on the court all he would do is run post ups.
