I don't know who will agree, but I think 2K needs two separate game modes. They need to create a realistic mode that focuses on lifelike basketball and a mode for people that want to play Park and MyTeam instead of trying to blend the two together. All these badges and stuff are gimmicks that should be on the Park side of things. Curry/Dame shouldn't need a badge to increase their attributes or abilities for them to shoot from near half court that is their real life abilities already. Shaq shouldn't need brick wall for other big men to not push him around in the paint. Make strength matter and do away with the gimmicks. What's the purpose of having attribute ratings if they don't matter? Shot contesting seems to suck from the videos I've been watching because they want to overdue it on the escape step back dribble animations now. People like me that want more realism don't care about cheesy animations that make trash players look good.
Bro how I feel it’s a video game if you want “realism” that deep put on sum hoop shoes and go to a local park / YMCA/GYM and play against people instead of looking for it in a video game that’s how I look at it
All of these new gameplay mechanics are great for isolation basketball. But the invisible walls need to be removed for the transition game, and passing speed/accuracy need to be addressed.
A great point! I do think passing feels crispy for great passers, but this is something that also needs to evolve as much as the mechanics for iso and dribbling have!

Is it really changed or as every years they say “now you can defend with Rs!” But it is the usual mechanism that has always been present? It’s the same! Think of go-to shots as a combination of breakdown moves and a signature step back/shot creation move. So if breakdown dribbles are RS flicks up, Signature go to shots are done by holding the RS and letting go of it when you reach your jumper release point. You can also release the RS at any point to cancel out of it, so that you can stop the animation sequence and then combo with dribble moves, other stepback jumpers, and crossover launches!
The one thing I wish 2k would focus on is the defense in the games. The sole focus on strictly offensive upgrades should be countered with ability to stop a lot of these great moves as well. But other than that the game looks fantastic!
Nah, they’ve tried that multiple times at the start of new 2k. Then they change the sliders back to better offense. When defence is too good, game is way less exciting and more stressful

Jalen brown benefitted from new animations, so did Jalen Green! I’m not sure if their jumpers are better, but i rarely found a guy whose animations got worse. Maybe except Austin Reeves
Like misdirection one legged fades, running retreating fades, pump fake forwards leaning fade, and I would like actual contact push off middy fades. It would be cool to expand playing with contact shot creation. W vid ethical buckets!
Tough to say for now!! But I'm leaning towards a Luka build with at least some perimeter and agility! I'm not making a build this year without defense! Offense is too good!
I turn that stuff off, but I expect it to be the same as in 24. Maybe some tension in the triggers, and rumble but that might be it. Sorry didnt get to test it out!
Well young man. The right stick used to be just the shot stick, and then it became the pro stick/dribble stick. There was a time in 2K when all dribbling was done with the left stick.
@@KevinCruz016 lol I actually feel stupid now because although I was born in 1993 I do not remember 2k being like that. I did play LIVE for a long time before trying 2k11 but I don't remember doing dribbles with left stick

Have not played 16 in a long time, but dribbling is more different than any 2K and a natural evolution from 24. I'd say the freedom of 24 + the flexibility of older 2Ks (not necessarily the same mechanics)

Not gon lie I’m a need some more rec and park play outta you this year bro lol
This will be my main mode this year, I had fun last year but I’m going to see if I can do more competitive modes and run with a squad!
@@KevinCruz016 I’m definitely down to run this year
You know its real when kevin cruz gets on camera lol
Are the player models better compared to 2k24? Thanks!
We need MJ'S & Kobe's pro play fix💎
Just got the game yesterday and i need help getting out of tutorial...how do you get put of tutorials? I wanna play the game...please let me know ASAP
I believe the game needs to be fully installed man.
I’m not buying it until Christmas when it’s 67% off
Must be broke then
@@jasonmitsch1337 lol not broke anymore .. just wont have time anyway until the holidays anyway ... i used to buy madden & play for a month until 2K comes out ... thats stupid lol rather wait ..
Same. There’s too many September games coming out that I want so I’m putting 2k on back burn for now
I’ve never played a 2k NBA game before. Are the controls easy to get use to ?
It's tough at first, but they made moves easier to execute than ever. There was a huge emphasis on accessibility and it should help new players like you get into it! But of course, basketball is a complicated sport, so there are those considerations too!
@@KevinCruz016 when’s the release date tonight at 9 ? Or tomorrow or the 6th ?
I'm still debating. What's going on with that giveaway Kev? My Bday is actually on release day.
Have not heard word from my contact on this. But I hope to hear soon!
Can u play it early? Would love to see a new video
Unfortunately not in the closed creator tip off! But I will play when it launches in early tip off!
Aye bro is Jaylen brown shot better? And Jalen greens???
Jalen brown benefitted from new animations, so did Jalen Green! I’m not sure if their jumpers are better, but i rarely found a guy whose animations got worse. Maybe except Austin Reeves
@@KevinCruz016Jalen green got better animations? Ima rockets fan That’s wassup bro Preciate u!!!!
Did they already fixed the substitution issue?
Do you have sliders for the game that work for you?
I need one leg fades and not most Jokic fades. Should be part of a package
Like misdirection one legged fades, running retreating fades, pump fake forwards leaning fade, and I would like actual contact push off middy fades. It would be cool to expand playing with contact shot creation. W vid ethical buckets!
Hey Kevin, what's the best pg build to make?
Tough to say for now!! But I'm leaning towards a Luka build with at least some perimeter and agility! I'm not making a build this year without defense! Offense is too good!
When you do decide to make a premier build, please post a video for it. I'm still very up in the air about my first build
Is there any haptic feedback in in-game?
I turn that stuff off, but I expect it to be the same as in 24. Maybe some tension in the triggers, and rumble but that might be it. Sorry didnt get to test it out!
4:01 what are you even saying here? when were dribbles on the left stick?
Well young man. The right stick used to be just the shot stick, and then it became the pro stick/dribble stick. There was a time in 2K when all dribbling was done with the left stick.
@@KevinCruz016 lol I actually feel stupid now because although I was born in 1993 I do not remember 2k being like that. I did play LIVE for a long time before trying 2k11 but I don't remember doing dribbles with left stick
I can’t do step backs the way I did them lady year
Are you using square + the Left Stick? It seems less consistent this year than last year. But the shot stick works well.
is the game similar from ps4 and ps5? or is it completely different?
Completely different, and as more time passes, next gen becomes an even more completely different game from past gen.
Did they put lebron’s signature whine over a call by the refs?
I did see Luka do it lmao
I’m not looking forward to see how people abuse the shot cancelling mechanic at the park and pro am especially the so called “dribble gods” they are going to make the gameplay Arcady and just spamming shot cancel over and over into a pull up jumper smh and you know it’s coming. I’ll stick to play now online this year or maybe my team
Is dribbling more or less like 16?
Have not played 16 in a long time, but dribbling is more different than any 2K and a natural evolution from 24. I'd say the freedom of 24 + the flexibility of older 2Ks (not necessarily the same mechanics)
Are you Filipino by any chance?
It looks the most realistic
That it does man!
I like you Kevs, but 2K touched you already and I hate those corrupt people. As much as I wanted to believe you, I just can’t not because of you but 2K itself for 3 years of same cycle now. If dribbling is really that good like you’ve said, well that is really refreshing specially for me, I play 2K for dribbling ankle breaking shots only not for anything. But I hope My Career is worth it to grind to become Legendary. But you know, I lost hope with 2K for real. Will see. Nice content 👌
The heck do you mean believe? There’s footage of 2k25 out right now. Everything he said in this video is correct. Stop being a follower, take off your bias glasses and actually ANALYZE, fam.
@@Regalieth9143 Yes, I saw,3 inches of movement fluidity for 15 years? Bruh, are you part of 2K RONNIES legion? I played NBA games since 1995 so calm your brainless point down.
@@Regalieth9143 I am not even asking if they changed passing physics because yo know what?? It felt NBA 2K14 til this day. Same post offense, still stuck on its base animation, Im still waiting for someone to pull off that Kobe post fake under shit. Do you remember how 2K24 was dead on release? I like what I see somehow but I still see a lot of same mechanics since NBA2Ks ealiest titles like 14, 16, 17 & 18s. Do you realize 23 & 24s animation?? degraded for reality movements kuno??? The heck this 2K thinking? This is NBA but are builds are locked to look like a hooper like you sa kanto ina ka!
I respect the skepticism and 2K's done enough to warrant that. But I can only speak to what I played. I don't think this 2K is perfect, and we'll find that out in the coming weeks and months - but it's a noticeable step up from 24 from a mechanics perspective.
@@KevinCruz016 Indeed, Milesaway better than 2k24, thats the first. Well, I am just excited because players like us will benefit this fluidity or I mean, FINALLY, they poloshed it.
I think I'm going to buy the game by disc.... I personally don't like how they patch the game every 5 seconds So this year I just may be going off the grid and f*** the updates
Dude, they travel and carry in the NBA on the regular today. If they have animations that look like traveling violations and the refs don't call it, it's way more realistic than I thought. 😂 If the NBA simply enforced the rules these players bags would be empty 😂
38 secs after upload what it dooo
MY GUY!! We got something good coming tomorrow!!!
some words/terms that you said in your videos were hard to understand as a rookie with this game. simplify it
Please do a d book showcase
current gen parin ba sa pc to tito kevin? baka naman pa gift sa steam hahaha
Next gen na iho. Hahaha. Lets wait a bit, I might have something to give back to the community! Give me a few days!
🐐
You all the goats!!
Bro can i request replace the commentator and bring mike breen hope you read my comment
I don't have that kind of sway brother!
🔥🔥🔥🔥
Always appreciate you Ke!!
youtubers will sell cheese again
I think it's an inevitability for sure. Let's just hope that 2K stress tested the game enough to hold up against some elite cheese
The Nets Physics still terrible ,EA do better work for that!
This is stuff I can overlook, as long as the gameplay is good.
