Deer ticks love cold weather. December and March are when I see them the most. They will be active any day above freezing. Even in winter in areas with no snow. I've had Lyme Disease three times. I wear long pants, boots, and Insect Shield shirts in the woods year-round and feel fairly safe. Deer ticks were a lot more common 20 years ago. I can remember coming out of the woods with 20 or 30 on me. These days I rarely see one or two.
