So, I’ve tried to find the answer to this and can’t. Since the latest update, with the new ‘remove’ option added to heal & clone…i no longer have the option to adjust the opacity and feathering BEFORE I make the edit. It appears I can only ‘refine’ it afterward, which seems nuts to me. Is that the case for everyone or is it a glitch for just me? Or am I dumb and just missing something?

don’t worry I’ve seen the update too and it’s annoying me too. It was much easier and clear before the remove option, they have left the feather and opacity sliders before you make a selection. You can definitely push a feature request to bring back that option.
