One of my most reliable ways to take down Malenia's first phase (though I don't like to use it) is to knock her over with Burn, O Flame and then hit two catch flames in succession, then repeat. In P1 she can't respond, but it doesn't work on her second phase as she cancels with a kick, and then I have to duel her properly.

I wish we could get that weapon. Yeah sure it's just Blaidd's sword with a touch of destined death, but look at it. Make it a short-lived weapon buff via the ash of war but make it have lower base stats and slightly worse scaling, increase the FP cost a bit and call it a day.
Yeah, blaids sword is so cool but it has strenght/int scaling and i dont think we need a int scaling weapon that dashes near to enemies. A destined death greatsword with str/faith scaling that dashes into enemies would much better and usable.
Juno was so much tougher imo. I barely had trouble with the baleful shadow. But I bet Nepheli would be a pain in the ass to fight if she were an ennemy 😂
I mean they were both tough, but baleful shadow had so much more hp, or it was just the fact I fought it much earlier (around lvl60) compared to Juno ( lvl 120)
Amazing how many of them are actually stronger than him and could win with a better AI if It wasn't for this spamming's opression. He's built like a hack and slash game character, nothing more.
I do wish you could scale Istvan and bull goat to actually do the damage of their weapon, rather than the insanely low version that is summonable. Theyre so cool, but do so shit every time.
What I'm really getting from those fights is that NPCs are very poor at fighting other NPCs. I remember Vyke being a fucking menace, but without his gimmick (madness) and with huge damage output of Baleful Shadow he's just a pushover. Many other NPCs behave similarly.

After 7 playthroughs I still have not seen a couple of these npcs.
D stunning baleful shadow, drinking a flask and still having enough time for riposte was pretty badass, too bad he got bitten to death anyway
