If he switched places with ayanakoji, he, in my opinion would not do nearly as good. He’s definitely smart, but I’d say he’s around horikita’s level. Oreki’s deduction ability is amazing but remember, the people in this school are the cream of the crop. He wouldn’t get far with just deduction skills alone, and he isn’t really a great manipulator, he’s only really manipulated people who are dumb or just average, in fact he’s the one who got manipulated when someone just as smart as him came around (granted he found out but it was already too late). Remember this school is about manipulating people and crossing them, not deductive capabilities. So I’d say he’s definitely smart and would do alright, but once the higher tier characters come around, he’d probably get manipulated and not know what to do.

In my opinion, the Hyouka anime has a very realistic story, while Classroom The Elite has an exaggerated story, the MC character is too far-fetched or exaggerated, Ayanokoji's goal was to never lose and be able to control all problems, while Oreki was made like a child High school as usual is not exaggerated with the addition of a little talent

If he was in the same year as Ayanokoji, I think some will discover his abilities such as Ryuuen and Arisu. Even if he don't want to show his abilities like Ayanokoji, he'll be forced to because that's how it works there, unless he have intelligent classmates who's enough to beat other classes without his help. He will probably end up like Matsushita who hides her ability as well but leaves the work to others and just hope it works.

I think it's hard to get Oreki in Classroom Of The Elite scenario and have a fair comparison. The world building of Hyouka is just too different. Oreki has no real enemies and doesn't have to fight for survival, there is also no pressure for him to do well or anything. I think Death Note would fit well, for example.

Both anime and there character are great but I don't think I would be a fare comparison oriki was good at finding or solving mystery. Apart from that we didn't see any major role or development about him. He isn't the best in terms of studies nor with his social skills. However in CROE most student excell at everything yeah that include Kiyotaka as well since even if he doesn't have social skill he can just manipulate other. So if we just go for solving mistery oriki is in par with the top students but apart from that he is just basic.

Going by personalities and what losing means in cote he loses to kushida and everyone afterwards, He is pretty lazy after all and easily manipulated like the time he wrote a mystery novel and realised he was manipulated too late because the story didn't seem consistent, which anyone above kushida would be able to overcome and leave him dumbfounded. Going by raw iq he solos everyone working together, I mean the guy solved a crime after hearing a school announcement once, identified a prankster out of around a thousand people in one sitting with around 4 victims, a book and a poster and proceeded to use it to get around 200 copies of a book from an obscure club in an awkward location sold naturally while man was tryna conserve energy by not trying hard.

Going by personalities and what losing means in cote he loses to kushida and everyone afterwards, He is pretty lazy after all and easily manipulated like the time he wrote a mystery novel and realised he was manipulated too late because the story didn't seem consistent, which anyone above kushida would be able to overcome and leave him dumbfounded. Going by raw iq he solos everyone working together, I mean the guy solved a crime after hearing a school announcement once, identified a prankster out of around a thousand people in one sitting with around 4 victims, a book and a poster and proceeded to use it to get around 200 copies of a book from an obscure club in an awkward location sold naturally while man was tryna conserve energy by not trying hard.
