The worst thing that's ever happened to me in over FORTY years of computer gaming was when one day either a Windows or NVidia driver update came out, possibly both, and bloody BF4's Punkbuster just decided that myself and several thousand other players that day were cheating, and banned everyone. There was no come-back, I ended up speaking to EA in the UK and the US, I even wrote a legal letter to Punkbuster's corporate offices (which they by law were supposed to respond to but just sent it back) - and got nothing, so my 1,200+ hour - had-every-single-award-I-could (including that dark camo and bow) was just gone. I've never been as angry in my life, in fact I've not bought another EA game since - I've still watched you play their stuff but I'm really reticent to buy 2142 just because of the extremely bad-taste they left in my mouth.

Can we talk about bipods? As someone who uses them a lot, I am constantly frustrated by how tricky and slow they are to deploy. I loved suppression, it really gave the support class something to do with their LMGs, and encouraged you to use LMGs in their real life role instead of as an AR with a giant magazine. Suppression was only a "problem" if your reaction to an ambush was to stand your ground and try to shoot it out. (Instead of supressing back and getting out of the kill zone)
in B4 "It rewards bad players. blah blah blah"
If you're getting supressed, you let someone get the drop on you. I'd say it punished players who rely on their aim to get themselves out of their bad decisions.

I actually really liked the new vehicle mechanics added in V, glancing blows and the slower turret traversal made it more skilled imo, people had to think about what they did instead of speeding onto the middle of an obj and 360ing and shooting everyone, and glancing blows/ricochets meant I could park my tank at and angle on a corner and hold position while any oncoming tanks had a hard time destroying me, and meant that flanks were much more viable.

While I get why they added the system into BF5, I wish they just added 1 extra toggle option, something called like "lock 3rd person vehicle look speed to turret turn speed" or whatever. So basically the turret turn speed would still be set, meaning no instant 360's. But you just wouldn't be able to free aim quicker than the turret turns. I dislike having to wait for the turret to catch up to where I'm looking. I'd be quite happy only being able to look around as fast as it turns. And since it'd be a toggle option, then it won't hurt those who are used to how it is now

It was a one step forward two steps back solution
The problem wasn't that they added turret traversal. I agree it improved the combat as infantry VS tanks. The issue is it made actually aiming your tank more difficult than it needed to be. The negative acceleration applied to the input to simulate turret traversal when in scope view is nuts.

No, battlefield isn't a realistic franchise, but it does have realistic ELEMENTS, as I have clearly stated in the comment. Realism is not what defines battlefield, but the battlefield formula requires a decent sprinkle of realism here and there. If that weren't the case, there'd be no point in modelling accurate guns, decently accurate weapon nomenclature, bullet drop, bullet travel, vehicles, camouflage, attachments, the list goes on...
That's the whole point of battlefield, to be a MIX of a realistic shooter with an arcadey one, in a giant sandbox pot. A sort of crossover of genres, and that's why we all like it.

After playing a ton of Hell Let Loose I can't imagine playing a game without it now. A well concealed machine gunner in that game can physically pin down a squad if they're not paying attention, but all it takes is a well placed smoke grenade to counter. It works really well. You just have to un-program your gamer brain from thinking about machine guns like you do in single-player campaigns, where you just peek and headshot the gunner and you're done.

I personally dig less reliance on HUD mechanics and more reliance on in game situational awareness. I see where you're coming from and do agree that it gives suppressors more of a viable role, but with DICE's amazing sound design, I think suppressors do still have a role even without the minimap spotting since if you can keep you ears open, it's much easier to hear someone coming up behind you unsuppressed than if they are suppressed. That's just me though.

Badmins are definitely one of the top reasons I don't remember Battlefield 4 being a super enjoyable game for me - as soon as you were doing well, or actually got into a chopper or jet for once and killed the wrong person, you'd be kicked and it just ruined the entire experience because a salty kid couldn't take you killing them.
Is why I've never been too sore about losing private servers in BF1 & BFV, but of course there is a proper middleground to be had, and avoid any auto-match system putting you into player run servers.

There was also BF1's dense fog and the high frequency of it, and also the exaggerated glare when peering from windows and doorways in BF1, and BF1's sweet-spot mechanic used to identify enemy soldiers within a certain range that can be killed with a single sniper shot to the body, and replacing the player's ability to CHOOSE a skin with random battlepack unlocks which was the case in BF1. But it's painful to even do THAT because you have to get into those chokepoints, risk being mowed down instantly (which you're 100% helpless to defend against), and get a shot into a congested area. And the poison does hardly any damage, so it's not even viable as an area-denial tool. It's just horrible, the one area I've ever found it to actually be somewhat useful on Metro.
On B escalators, spam poison at the ceiling right above the left and right corners, or just flood the bottom if defending from above. For the right hallway, just camp the locker doorway and spam 2 clouds to cover the entire hallway. I agree that suppression was overdone in BF3, but it HAS to be back in BF2042 because it helps stop snipers from being insanely OP, especially now that maps are bigger than ever. I think it should be toned WAY down but still apply to each class, with sniper rifles being slightly more affected by it.
I liked the slow regeneration of explosives from ammo crates in BF4, although I certainly didn't mind the way ammo crates worked in BF5 with a visible timer on the box helping players know when they could use it again.
I agree that HAVING to use a suppressor sucks pretty bad. You shouldn't have to play with your eyes glued to the mini map to succeed, nor should you have to choose between being suppressed and having normal bullet velocities.
Air vehicles were not super OP in BF5 compared to helicopters in BF3/4, so I'd like them to skew in that direction, or at least let infantry have good counters to them.
