  • Dave Robinson a music industry veteran and founder of Stiff Records.
    In 1983 he joined Island Records marketing acts like Frankie Goes To Hollywood.
    The following year Dave began work on the Bob Marley "Legend" compilation.
    40 Years later, Dave tells his story.

      @GriotMareh , I’m curious to know more about you. What’s your background? How is it that you’re in contract with these amazing people, and that they trust you enough to spend a great deal of time with you and in some cases, bearing their souls?

    Saw Dave at a cinema in Camden, it was a cold night and he was eating ice cream. My GF didn't know who he was and made an off hand comment about eating ice cream on a cold night, poor Dave nearly lost his shit. Lovely fella!! LOL

    Remember ZTT Records being mentioned in the Islander book...not so much in there about Chris hitting the chalice and letting Island slide though 😂 great behind the scenes info, thank you ✌

      The Islander book is a good read, but could have had more detail (maybe the chalice had something to do with that👀)
      It was nice to hear about the inner workings of Island, glad you enjoyed it!
