I'm glad Vanessa put Stacy in her place and called her out on the stuff she did to her because Stacy's apology don't mean anything. She caused Vanessa to her to chop her hair, almost commit suicide. Such an underrated film, and very true. Teenagers can be cruel for each other.I experienced very similar things to this girl, and believe me it is a big deal saying no even for those who hate you. When you re 12-16 friends are only one important thing in your life. That was before and will be forever.
Finally Vanessa stood up for herself. She had every right to stand up for herself and tell Stacy she was fake to her face and she even told Nikki off too! Good for you Vanessa! Your years of High School are over and so was your never ending nightmare!
Having only watched this as an adult I sympathize just as much with Barbara as I do Vanessa. Barbara desperately wants to help her daughter but hasn't the slightest clue how. Her frantic phone call to her ex-husband is actually the saddest part of the movie for me.
What was also pathetic was how Stacy (once she realized Vanessa wasn’t backing down and exposing how awful she was) tried to do damage control and go in for some weak-ass hug. I loooove that Vanessa pushed her away and said “you have nothing I want.” I think Vanessa knew “Nope! Not falling for this again.” That’s how manipulative Stacy was, faking like she was a friend. Tony is a coward and a punk, afraid of what the girls will do to him if he stayed on Vanessa's side....back in high school when I went through this type of stuff, there were a lot of "Tonys": boys who liked me but were afraid to stick up for me because of what the girls would do. Now all those same guys are trying to friend me on Facebook and asking me out...like I'll ever go out with them. #Idiots.
Me, too. I had some guys in high school who liked me too, but they chose to go out with the "popular" girls, as in the girls who were sleeping around and being hoes and having babies at 16. Now, they are all fat and fugly and I'm still hot...haha
At 4:27 when Nikki and Tiffany saw Tony clapping for Vanessa, they knew right then and there that they had lost. Now they know Tony is on Vanessa's side. He always was, he was just to afraid to say anything earlier in the movie.
been threw this, bullying .. since I was in pre -K threw high school, and some of my college.. now i'm proud of myself for standing up .. and im older now .. so I ingore low life, miserable people
It's so neat the way Emily just glares at Nikki and Tiffany in the hallway after the graduation. It's like she's saying " Mess with my friend and I'll knock your block off!!" Too bad it didn't actually happen.
Odd girl out is the second best film i had ever seen. I had even cryed(although i had never cryed at films before) And i loved how Emily said "Come on! Give it up to the girl!"
YES! GO VANESSA! I love how everyone applauds her... Stacy is so horrable. I can't believe she actually said that she was the best thing that ever happened to Vanessa! What an egomaniac!
Now that I l think about it, you can tell a majority of their class couldn’t stand Stacy and her clique either. They were probably glad someone finally put her in her place.
@@tam9856 Yes they probably only pretended to like her because they were afraid of her. I'm sure Stacey thought Vanessa was just going to keep forgiving her and keep giving her chances. I'd be fucking mortified if I put someone who was my quote friend in the hospital. I dont know why that wasn't the final straw for Vanessa for ending things for good with Stacy it should of been and it would of been for me. Keep in mind all this shit started because Tony wasn't interested in Stacy and liked Vanessa instead. Vanessa said no when Tony asked her out because she knew that Stacy liked him and was trying to be a good friend. Its not her fault that Tony didn't like Stacy back. I'm sure if both Tony and the principal knew that Stacy and her friends were doing all this to Vanessa because Tony liked her instead of Stacy the would find it equally as disgusting and pathetic. Stacy along with Nikki and Tiffany should of been expelled or atleast suspended. Stacy nearly killed Vanessa and probably would of if Vanessa kept giving her chances. I'm glad Vanessa finally saw Stacy for the fake evil narcisstic bitch she was and kicked her ass to the curb. It was long overde.
+Kee Leicthle Stacey graduated. I assume she did because only three of those asses were sitting in the audience. Unless Stacey was cut off because screen size
@@BeeKee404 She copied Vanessas paper but made it look like Vanessa copied her's when it was other way around because thats the typical narccistic bitch she is. I would've told her to fuck off and to talk to the teacher if she needed "help" sending Stacy her paper was a big mistake. I still dont know why that English teacher didnt talk to both girls and there parents to get to the truth instead of just assuming Vanessa plagarized when it was the other way around.
Whenever I want to be reminded that bullies never thrive they live off on their own insecurities by bullying others putting others down to feel good about themselves...i always come here. I love how Vanessa calls them both out...not just Vanessa. I wish they had done a sequel. Id love to see Nessa really take down Nicki even more.
I know moms always say " Life gets better after high school" and "they are just jealous" but believe me when I say( and I am 21) that life DOES get better after high school. I was in the same boat as you when I was in high school. And now life is SOOO much better. And those girls that are being horrible human beings? When high school is over they will have nothing. They are queens right now, but after high school, they will be playing in your ball park.
watched all of the clips & loved it ! thank you for putting these clips on youtube :) girls can really be so mean to each other . at least it ended good , had like the biggest smile on my face (:
Hope that last shot of Nikki was her about to run crying from being leaderless and helpless, hopeless and losing all her power and ability to bully Vanessa!
I also hope that was the last shot of Nikki, Tiiffany, Stacey, and the rest of their followers being out of Vanessa's life for good and to never bother her again.
+Maddie McCroskey If they do bother her again, they're wasting their time cause they can't hurt her anymore. Besides, I think it's assumed they got held back cause I think they didn't graduate with the rest of the class cause they refused to reveal themselves as those user names to the principal so I don't think they'll even see her for a while.
if ur going thru bullying in school, hold ur chin up and ignore the bullys, cause your time to shine will come and those bullys will turn out ugly fat losers. What goes around comes around xx
Yeah I've gone through bullying button over came it like a strong trooper it wasn't easy especially while I was dealing autism after discovering that it gave me extrodinary powers to do things and inspire others to overcome their demons and succeed like I did as well.
I feel the same way. After years of getting bullied, I finally stood up for myself, before the new bully could even get started. I found the best response to "Shut up you're not cool", is "Good. It's over-rated". She never teased me again. So anyone who gets bullied, stand up to them once, and they'll stand down. They won't have any more power.
Exactly i did the same thing with my cheating lying ex girl friend when I warned her about the consequences about trying to intimidate me or my family....I'm like bitch who the hell you think you are!? to bring some drama up in my territory over here while it's peaceful.I almost felt felt for calling her out in a harsher way but I warned her not to try us or play games with me and she didn't listen so she had it coming for a smart ass careless little brat.I tried to help her but she was very hard headed enough to not take me seriously.
I personally feel like Stacey's mom knew what Stacey was doing the whole time. The apple 🍎 doesn't fall too far from the tree , she goes to Vanessa's mom feign concern about Vanessa, but then she looks embarrassed at Vanessa's mom after Vanessa finally tells Stacey off.
@manofsteelgoodmanll7925 And Denise (Stacey’s mom) didn’t even condemn her daughter for her despicable actions and sided with Stacey, which showed Denise’ character. If that was my daughter who bullied another child who was her friend to the point where that person attempted to take their own life, I will be holding my kid accountable. I feel like the film implies that Denise is an undercover Regina George herself.
this movie is VERY inspiring. I watched this today, and I have to say, that I am very proud of Vanessa, and this movie kind of connected to me when I was in high school, i've been bullied a lot, and even cyberbullied
I love that she stood up for herself. And I also like that none of the bullies came around and said sorry, because seriously, how many people have experienced the 'bitches' actually apologize for real, and mean it?
@MusicTributeVideo I was bullied for about six years, but I had my true friends at another school, so I didn't mind that much. But at my old school bullying was really common. I hope that everyone who was bullied a lot more than me is well today...
Didn't surprise me, with her own mother in denial with her daughter and Stacy thought she can control everything and be the big ass bully. Nicky and the girls were pathetic. In the end, it all backfired on Stacy. Good for you Vanessa.
I had a different bullied experience but in junior high. High school was a major improvement (especially when you're finally in high school with a popular big brother with connections). This one girl went from throwing paperback novels at my head, constantly throwing water at me in the restrooms, and taunting me as I'd cry ('go on, crybaby, cry') to "Yeah, you're brother is cool, uh..yeah). She never seemed to make friends in high school.
I really loved the scene when they were shopping for clothes at the mall, you could tell they were picking clothes to wear as they started to bully Vanessa and i could not get my eyes off Vanessa when she was looking at the clothes
the ending was awesome to let vanessa say how she feel about her former friends.and i liked this scene to show how people are and general that; my favorite scene rashanda
I totally agree she was treated like sh**t through out out the whole school not mention Stacy and her mom both Fu**ked up so their gonna have to deal with it,an how her mom Fu**ked up you asked? Because when Stacy did what she said her mom done nothing to stop it so it's on her mom too for not rasing her daughter like a lady instead of her allowing her to act like a total brat.
i had to use email and everything in order to stand up to my highschool bully, then along came a new bully in university so i had to use email then too and i got the bully expelled so she didnt graduate with the rest of us. Now im doing another course and i have a teacher whos a bully so ive had to go and make a complaint to the board against them. Do the bullys ever stop?:
I hate Bullies and I am so glad Vanessa stood up for self and put Stacy in her place Vanessa shouldn't have talked to her after what happened with the birthday party disaster and the mom was a good mom b/c she was protecting her daughter from getting hurt! NOBODY deserves to be bullied whom ever they might be!!!! Young or old
i saw this movie last yr. it was awsome and yeah everyone has to go through w/ this but you'll always have this movie to help out w/ problems too to find out really r ur friends :)
this is a great movie..... it sends an excellent message to all the shy & low self-esteemed girlz out ther..who think they depend on friends..or gotta have friends around to make them feel better girl walk on ur own feet...stand up for urself.....cuz if u dont kno how to be by urself...how ur not gonna succeed being with somebody im telling u...he or she has nothin to offer u......u can make it all by urself...raise ur head up high....and tell urself...ur somebody.
Glad Vanessa is distancing herself from Stacy,Nikki and Tiffany by not having them as her friends anymore those girls r Toxic People that need 2 grow up
This movie was really good. They should show this to teenage kids in middle and high school so that way that hese teens can undesrstand these types of incidents that can occur in school and with so called friends and class mates.
TheLuna12346 Hi. I know this was a while ago but to answer your question-- the reason for the poor lighting is because everything is shown through Vanessa's eyes. Life isn't so great for her. It's all dark and cold and lonely. That's why there's no lighting.
I'm in High School, gosh, this situation is all the time! uuuuuff I am so thankful I am not bullied by anyone however I do feel very bad for those people who are being bullied by others... :( this PROBLEM will not stop...why do people enjoy hurting others?
Stacy is the worst type of mean girl because she PRETENDS she isn’t. She was truly a coward and watched her clique mercilessly be so cruel to Vanessa and just allowed it to go on. Like Vanessa said, at least evil Nicky doesn’t hide the fact that she’s so awful, but Stacy is a coward who acted like Vanessa’s friend to her face, but had her crew do her dirty work behind the scenes. She’s the PASSIVE mean girl who isn’t directly hostile, but will stand by and watch her friends be awful to someone and choose not to do anything about it… but trying to play it off as being “neutral” Nicky was jealous and resentful of Vanessa from the start because Vanessa seemed to have a genuine friendship with Stacy, while Nicky was more so a minion. Plus, Vanessa outranked Nicky in looks and personality. At times, in the movie, you could tell Stacy knew (deep down) that Vanessa was a good girl and didn’t deserve this treatment, but her need to be queen bee, by letting Vanessa’s abuse continue, outweighed any morality she had.
If the friendship between Vanessa and Stacy was "genuine" then Stacy would of realized that the fact that Tony wasn't interested in her wasn't Vanessa's fault and she wouldn't have enabled the harrassment that Vanessa recieved from Nikki and her other friends. She didn't bully Vanessa directly like Nikki and Tiffany did but she certainly didnt do anything to stop it and I find the fact that she tricked Vanessa into sending her her english paper resulting in Vanessa being accused of cheating when it was really Stacy who cheated off of Vanessa to be just as bad. If she was so threatened by the fact that Tony liked Vanessa instead of her then she could of just stopped being friends with Vanessa. although thats still a dumb reason to end a friendship and to enable abuse and harrassment that Vanessa recieved from her and her friends. But thats how this all started, Vanessa didn't "steal" Tony from Stacy Tony was never interested in Stacy in the first place and Stacy couldn't accept that. I think Stacy continued to pretend to be Vanessa's friend to save face and to convince people like her and Vanessa's mom that she was a good person and Vanessa was just overreacting. But in reality their friendship was pretty much over the minute Tony said he wasn't interested in Stacy. With Nikki I never considered her to be Vanessa's friend at all I could tell instantly she never liked Vanessa Im not sure why she was considered to be Vanessa's friend too. Stacy's mom was overly passive and definetely an enabler, I felt like she contributed to the problem even more. If she were a decent parent she would of told her daughter that harrassing/enabling harassing against someone just because a person you liked liked then instead of you is not acceptable, and that regardless of whether she chose to stay friends with Vanessa or not was up to her but that the harrassment needed to stop or there would be serious conseuences if it didnt.
this is a wonderful movie, should be viewed by each and every young girl, so as to experience what to expect when being bullied and cheated and the fate that awaits the bullies!! go odd girl!!
that's possibly the most inspiring movie i've ever seen! I got bullied like hell in school too...and i wish i had had the courage, guts and confidence that vanessa found at the end of the movie. I still get dumb gibes and snidey comments and stuff when i walk down the street, but they really don't bother me anymore. its like hearing the same comments kids came up with like 6years ago. i think bullies are sad, because in order to make themselves feel big, they have to pick on someone else.
I know from personal experience, that being bullied is so painful. My situation was strange. I was bullied twice in my life, with at least five year's in-between the different people. I was lonely, yet I have bad characteristics, such as wanting and looking to be in a relationship behind my mom's back, swearing, stealing, etc. But I never hurt anyone, I look out for them, and I stand up for my same aged cousin. The only way I survived my last bully was by being the bully for a moment.
ikr if i was Vanessa i would go up to Nikki and cut all her hair off, make her shirt dirty, put mustard on her leftover hair and on her shirt as well and then punch her. That will teach her a lesson TBH i think I would only need to cut her hair and put food in her hair cause that would make Nikki lose all her popularaity .
i went through that crap. i just didn't let it get to me so bad. spoke my mind. made new friends. end of story. this is a good movie though to show how bad it really gets.
Bad thing is, this happens everyday at every school. Bullying is so pathetic and senseless. If you don't like someone, just let them do whatever they wanna do. But nobody ever gets that I guess.

YES thats exactly why i love this movie so much! the writer stays true to real life and doesn't sugarcoat things.
At 4:27 when Nikki and Tiffany saw Tony clapping for Vanessa, they knew right then and there that they had lost. Now they know Tony is on Vanessa's side. He always was, he was just to afraid to say anything earlier in the movie.
Stacey was rude
Wanted to see Tony asking out Vanessa again..and got told where to go..... Movie ended too quickly
been threw this, bullying .. since I was in pre -K threw high school, and some of my college.. now i'm proud of myself for standing up .. and im older now .. so I ingore low life, miserable people
It's so neat the way Emily just glares at Nikki and Tiffany in the hallway after the graduation. It's like she's saying " Mess with my friend and I'll knock your block off!!" Too bad it didn't actually happen.
Odd girl out is the second best film i had ever seen. I had even cryed(although i had never cryed at films before)
And i loved how Emily said "Come on! Give it up to the girl!"
What is the best then?
YES! GO VANESSA! I love how everyone applauds her... Stacy is so horrable. I can't believe she actually said that she was the best thing that ever happened to Vanessa! What an egomaniac!
She’s a covert narcissist
Now that I l think about it, you can tell a majority of their class couldn’t stand Stacy and her clique either. They were probably glad someone finally put her in her place.
@@tam9856 Yes they probably only pretended to like her because they were afraid of her. I'm sure Stacey thought Vanessa was just going to keep forgiving her and keep
giving her chances.
Good for you for dropping them. If they're talking bad about each other they're definetly talking bad about you. And who needs friends like that?
i swear, i had a big lump in my throat throughout this movie, cried lyk so much...
what a great film!!!!
i wish I had the guts to stand up like her, you go girl!!!
perfect ending to the perfect movie.
this movie can teach everyone a lesson.
i love emilys stare and vanessa inspires me.
thanks for posting!!!!
Perfect ending after Stacey saying Vanessa is going to regret this.... She throws in Stacey's about getting expelled and repeating a grade.
+Raquel Ruiz When did she throw in Stacey being expelled?
“You know what? I feel really sorry for you.” I think that’s hitting the nail on the head! You go girl
I LOVE it when she finally stands up for herself.
watched all of the clips & loved it !
thank you for putting these clips on youtube :)
girls can really be so mean to each other .
at least it ended good , had like the biggest smile on my face (:
+Kee Leicthle That figures. Plus, Nikki is so narcissistic, so are Stacey and Tiffany, and the followers.
+Kee Leicthle Nikki was probably raging a fit as soon as after she left.
I don't think that Vanessa's talking to them again.
if ur going thru bullying in school, hold ur chin up and ignore the bullys, cause your time to shine will come and those bullys will turn out ugly fat losers. What goes around comes around xx
Yeah I've gone through bullying button over came it like a strong trooper it wasn't easy especially while I was dealing autism after discovering that it gave me extrodinary powers to do things and inspire others to overcome their demons and succeed like I did as well.
I never get tired of this ending.
I like Barbara's expression at 4:07! "That's my girl!!"
I Love the ending so much :)
Emily and vanesa are so cute together.
omg i was almost in tears in some parts, this is happening to teen girls all the time, i'm so glad Vanessa finally stood up for herself.
thank you for posting! i'm proud of her for standing up.
Ooo now Stacy knows how it feels to get stung
+rebaslildiva Vanessa really did a good job telling Stacy off!
Guess that meant that Stacy's mom and Vanessa's mom can't be friends anymore knowing that Vanessa was tormented there.
Staci didn’t make it to the party. She probably cried in her room all night and threw herself a pity party.
My headcannon is she went to years of therapy after this.
vanessa rocks.
this movie is VERY inspiring. I watched this today, and I have to say, that I am very proud of Vanessa, and this movie kind of connected to me when I was in high school, i've been bullied a lot, and even cyberbullied
I guess Vanessa's mom and Stacy's mom are both gonna have break up friend ship now.. Am i right?
I love that she stood up for herself. And I also like that none of the bullies came around and said sorry, because seriously, how many people have experienced the 'bitches' actually apologize for real, and mean it?
@MusicTributeVideo I was bullied for about six years, but I had my true friends at another school, so I didn't mind that much. But at my old school bullying was really common. I hope that everyone who was bullied a lot more than me is well today...
I cried when I saw this the first time. GO VANESSA!
I always cry when i watch it
Same here
Yeah I didn't cry but I was proud of her girl standing up for her self.
I know - that little shove wasn't enough. I can't believe Stacey still tried to hug her.
I really loved the scene when they were shopping for clothes at the mall, you could tell they were picking clothes to wear as they started to bully Vanessa and i could not get my eyes off Vanessa when she was looking at the clothes
the ending was awesome to let vanessa say how
she feel about her former friends.and i liked
this scene to show how people are and general
that; my favorite scene rashanda
that kids is how you stand up to a bully
I think so. I was just like this but worse. But I didn’t let anyone push me around
If it only it was that easy.
JavaScriptSophie. i know that right and you see she did,t do anything to her but walk away and cry😭
Do the bullys ever stop?:
this film is so good! watched it last night, but missed the ending, thanks so much for putting this up! :)
SUCH A NICE ENDING
EMILY IS THE BEST-EST FRIEND EVER!
I was watching this in my Health class just to relax in the last few days in school, but I never got to finish it. Now I did! Thanks =)
I hate Bullies and I am so glad Vanessa stood up for self and put Stacy in her place
Vanessa shouldn't have talked to her after what happened with the birthday party disaster and the mom was a good mom b/c she was protecting her daughter from getting hurt! NOBODY deserves to be bullied whom ever they might be!!!! Young or old
These girls are so disrespectful. It is not even funny.
what a great film
so happy she finaly stuck up 4 herself was about time! thnx 4 postin this
I loved this movie, even though it's been a long time since I watched it. I even think I cried when I first watched it.
i saw this movie last yr. it was awsome and yeah everyone has to go through w/ this but you'll always have this movie to help out w/ problems too to find out really r ur friends :)
this movie is amazing it can teach people that words can kill someone :)
ikr :D
thanks for uploading
i love this movie
i love how she ditched her infront of everyone
the movie has a great message
you tell her vanessa good job
this is a great movie.....
it sends an excellent message to all the shy & low self-esteemed girlz out ther..who think they depend on friends..or gotta have friends around to make them feel better
girl walk on ur own feet...stand up for urself.....cuz if u dont kno how to be by urself...how ur not gonna succeed being with somebody
im telling u...he or she has nothin to offer u......u can make it all by urself...raise ur head up high....and tell urself...ur somebody.
👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👌🏾👌🏾💯
Glad Vanessa is distancing herself from Stacy,Nikki and Tiffany by not having them as her friends anymore those girls r Toxic People that need 2 grow up
Yeah they need to shut the fuck up and give Vanessa a break.
This movie was really good. They should show this to teenage kids in middle and high school so that way that hese teens can undesrstand these types of incidents that can occur in school and with so called friends and class mates.
How come the lights are never on in this movie lol.
Can't believe those 3 idiots would rather be expelled vs coming cleaning. How humiliating is that! Wondering how high school goes for all of them
WOW awesome movie!!! Thanks...this one isnt out in Belgium!
Ty soo much for posting it!
Alexa Vega is such a great and amazing actress in this movie. no words
thanks. i m in band and so far in band camp people are pretty nice. hope it stays that way, thanks a lot!
She’s the PASSIVE mean girl who isn’t directly hostile, but will stand by and watch her friends be awful to someone and choose not to do anything about it… but trying to play it off as being “neutral”
Nicky was jealous and resentful of Vanessa from the start because Vanessa seemed to have a genuine friendship with Stacy, while Nicky was more so a minion.
If she were a decent parent she would of told her daughter that harrassing/enabling harassing against someone just because a person you liked liked then instead of you is not acceptable, and that regardless of whether she chose to stay friends with Vanessa or not was up to her but that the harrassment needed to stop or there would be serious conseuences if it didnt.
this is a wonderful movie, should be viewed by each and every young girl, so as to experience what to expect when being bullied and cheated and the fate that awaits the bullies!!
go odd girl!!
would had been great if Vanessa shoved Nikki against a locker after walking away from Stacey
that's possibly the most inspiring movie i've ever seen!
How amazing is the mother (Lisa Vidal). Not just a pretty face!!!!
The only way I survived my last bully was by being the bully for a moment.
they're actually in middleschool. Nikki got off lightly.. she was the main instigator.
I think that this needs to be shown in all the high schools and midd .
Those kind of girls are rude, stuck up, and vicious. They need to leave Vanessa the hell alone. What did she ever do to them?
Narcissistic girls.
ikr if i was Vanessa i would go up to Nikki and cut all her hair off, make her shirt dirty, put mustard on her leftover hair and on her shirt as well and then punch her. That will teach her a lesson TBH i think I would only need to cut her hair and put food in her hair cause that would make Nikki lose all her popularaity .
Nikki and Tiffany, and Stacey were probably raging a fit after they walked out.
Nikki would have to be a total Narcissist.
I read the plot and all that and apparently nikki was secretly jealous of stacy and vanessa's friendship
i went through that crap. i just didn't let it get to me so bad. spoke my mind. made new friends. end of story. this is a good movie though to show how bad it really gets.
IT TOOK HER WAY TO LONG TO STAND UP TO HER
this kind of stuff is taken so lightly at school, little do people know that saying one thing can ruin someones life.
that's all she needed to do was stick up for herself
Bad thing is, this happens everyday at every school. Bullying is so pathetic and senseless. If you don't like someone, just let them do whatever they wanna do. But nobody ever gets that I guess.
Stacy is so humiliated. But Vanessa stood up to herself.
Wow , this movie changed my life.
