    Nice video! I like how y'all are using a variety of lures. I never catch any specks in the surf, but I'm starting to think it's all coming down to me not being a morning person 😅 Now for a couple of dumb questions: Are the waters usually calmer in the mornings? And it looks like y'all are fishing the top. How deep would you let the spoon go before you start to shortly reel in?

    • @TexasAllWaterFishing
      @TexasAllWaterFishing  ปีที่แล้ว

      Specs will typically be very active around sunrise. Sometimes the bite will be on fire & completely stop after the sun comes over head. So being out there early is key especially for Specs. A lot of times during the summer the winds calm over night when it's cooler & will pick up going into the afternoon. We fish in all water columns. Sometimes they're on bottom & others they're in top. This trip they were on top chasing shrimp on the water surface.

    So how long does it usually take from the time you fish until you post the video on TH-cam?

    • @TexasAllWaterFishing
      @TexasAllWaterFishing  ปีที่แล้ว

      Well that's not an easy answer lol. Just depends how much content I have to review, the more I have to longer it takes. Then it also depends how much fishing I'm doing around the times I record. If I'm doing back-to-back trips with no breaks in between then things get back logged. And of course, what I have going on with my family, I spend a lot of one-on-one time with my son, sports, and training him. Normally the editing process can take 4-7 hours again depends on how much content to review so that can be a full day. I would like the video to be live 2-3 days after a trip but it can run 5-10 days if things get really busy for me, like days I spend volunteering with Capt. Cody's events. I had 2 events this past week. If you would like more update fishing reports check out my patreon page, I try to get reports up 24-48 hours of the trips to give insight to anyone looking to get on the water.

    I went yesterday (sunday) and the water was gorgeous. People were hammering the trout on live shrimp. I aint paying $15 for a pint of live shrimp, ef that lol. I caught a 17 in flounder dragging a doa shrimp. I was on the one across from the italian restaurant, just south of academy.

      Nice! I wade fished the west end yesterday nothing, went across SPL and caught whiting LOL. Every cast! My son had fun and that was good enough for me 😎🤙🏽

      Ive been trying to find wading spots lately. So far i have sea isle and tx city dike, and a boat ramp between the n jetty and fort travis. Next im going to try broken bridge on the bolivar side.

    Oh my, a Texas Chicken Corky is so good in water conditions like that. If there's a Spec or Mackerel in that water? They will smoke them Corky's. I went through 10 last year at $10ea, but it paid off.
    I caught my PB last year, a 32" on a Corky last year & l limited out every morning between June & Aug. when others weren't hooking up & I was culling by sunrise. But, sometimes, they just want shrimp or finger mullet, but it's hard not to catch using a Fat Boy. Them Corky's are cheaper at Oyster Creek Bucees also than Academy. Hook Up Baby 🤟

    • @TexasAllWaterFishing
      @TexasAllWaterFishing  ปีที่แล้ว

      Nice! My PB spec is 25 inches I wouldn't know how to act if I had a 30 incher on lol. Man Corky's are too slow for me...I know I need to try fishing with them more. I have a few but very rarely will I break them out.

  • @Mike_The_Hog_A_Nator
    @Mike_The_Hog_A_Nator ปีที่แล้ว

    It was on fire with everyone catching big fat 20" plus size & many 30" Specs with a few Mackerel a couple weeks ago at Surfside, then it just died off.
    We are taking the Kayaks out to W Bay in the morning..
    Or offshore it's that 🤟

    Only bad thing about trout, some way they slip off the hook,u have to work fast to get them

    • @NeoBlueBearZchannel
      @NeoBlueBearZchannel ปีที่แล้ว

      You know what, that’s so true …….. I recently started to get I to saltwater fishing, I did nothing but freshwater like ( started 2 weeks ago )…. A buddy out me On to it ………. And I thought it was just me but those speckled trout so get off the hook super damn fast ….. I lost like 7 big ones last week …. Like it made no sense to me how all the rest of the freshwater fish are not like that

    • @TexasAllWaterFishing
      @TexasAllWaterFishing  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree they can be very tricky, especially the surf specs off the rocks. The surf specs are very thick and strong fighting fish. Their thin mouth's don't help either, and lifting them out of the water is where I lose a lot of the larger ones. A net helps LOL. The trick is to have your drag loose enough that when they want to run they can but not too loose where the line will get slack & you'll lose the fish. There's a fine line to flirt with, even with the smaller ones. I think this day I lost around 7 most of them were small and Eric lost a handful too. It's a real pain, I hate losing fish, I guess we all do.

    Why don't you stand on the rocks right by the water? You're wearing cleats,

    • @Mike_The_Hog_A_Nator
      @Mike_The_Hog_A_Nator ปีที่แล้ว

      I mainly wear mine if I need to get closer to the water to net one but you need to stand near the water.
      It's actually better to be higher up.
      Prevents less snags

    • @TexasAllWaterFishing
      @TexasAllWaterFishing  ปีที่แล้ว

      It's easier to see the fish and fish from higher up like Mike said. I fall a lot 🤣 so I really need those cleats to help me stay up right. I actually fell that day and my foot and ankle still hurt...I stepped between the rocks and went down LOL.
