For those wondering why Mike Joy and Neil Bonnett were in the booth, this race took place during the same weekend as the Fay's 150 NASCAR Busch Grand National race.

Thank you for uploading these races!
This, and your Daytona 24h livestreams show why you are much better than the FIA.

Such a shame TWR never bothered to develop the XJR-14 after the end of the 1991 WSC season, they could of kept pace with the Toyotas and challenged for the title better.

By 1993 TWR was focusing on developing F1 cars. Walkinshaw had so much going on he had to drop IMSA and WEC.

GTP was on its last legs by this point a far cry from the glory days in the 80s

These old races are so much fun, thank you! ... any chance we can get any of the ‘Grand Prix du Mandi Gras’ races from New Orleans in the 90s? I remember being a little kid watching from my dad’s office mesmerized

This Jaguar is the chassis to later win the 1996 and 1997 24h of Le Mans!

    • @AmericasChoice
      @AmericasChoice ปีที่แล้ว +1

Yup. Joest took the chassis, build a new body and put in a Flat 6 and won with it.

    IMSA I ❤️ you!!
It's so awesome watching these races. I was 6 years old when this race happened... Watching the Jag with its F1 engine battle the Toyota with its turbo 2 liter 4 cylinder and the Mazda with that AWESOME 4ROTOR SCREAMER! Plus Nissan with a twin turbo V6... I don't even know what other engines are in these things, but I'm sure there's a small block V8 in the back of a few of those prototype cars. Actually, the corvette/intrepid cars definitely had small blocks... So basically this is motor racing gold! So many difference engines, designs, etc... AND THE CARS ACTUALLY LOOK DIFFERENT!
This shows how much imsa is on point compared to the FIA and ACO... Can you honestly tell the difference between the Porsche, Toyota, and Audi LMP1 cars? I can't. I am also not interested in them at all.. These old group c cars are racing royalty.
The new DPI cars are awesome too - the closest anyone has come to repeating this 80's-90's awesomeness... I believe the new Mazda is a turbo 4 cylinder... I know the Cadillac is a small block V8... The Ligiers and Orecas have 4 liter Nissan v8s I believe... So even though the rotary is gone, which is sad because they sound AAAAAHHHHHHMAZING AND GIVE ME A SEXUAL TINGLING IN MY UNDERPANTS AND HELL NO I AIN'T LYING and they revvvvvv like a mf'er!
BRING BACK GROUP C OR GT1!! WE DON'T WANT TO WATCH LÊ MANS IF THERE'S ONLY ONE TEAM ENTERED YOU STUPID FRENCHIES!! WE WANT ROTARIES! WE WANT TURBO 4ROTORS WITH 1400HP!! (I know that ain't gonna happen... But remember Porsche made a prototype in the 70s with a turbo V8 and 1500+hp👍👍)
WE WANT THE CARS TO BE DIFFERENT!!
BRING BACK JAGS WITH FORMULA 1 ENGINES AND SEXY ASS BODIES!
BRING BACK THE FLAMES SHOOTING FROM THE EXHAUST!!
IMSA you guys are doing it right.... Only thing I'd ask for is maybe lmp1 level cars to be the "top level"... Maybe have a 4-5 race lmp1 championship within the regular championship season... Only have the lmp1 cars at "big" tracks like COTA, Road America, Daytona, Sebring and maybe Watkins Glen? That would be AWWWEEEESOMMMEEEE AND YOU SHOULD DO IT! OR HIRE ME TO MAKE THINGS HAPPEN! I HAVE MANY, MANY QUALIFICATIONS AND AM WILLING TO LIE ABOUT HAVING MORE!
    HOOOOORAY IMSA!! 👍 👌

Don't know what you got till it's gone!
Good news is the FIA are talking about going back to the late 90s GT1 style "road car" based racers 👍

You want cars to be different and prefer DPi over LMP1? That doesn´t make any sense at all.
