1989 Competition was big!! Doesn't matter real Art is like red wine, doesn't mean shit, if a song comes out and doesn't get apreciated direct, real Art Grows.
megagatvol . I agree , it's a very well balanced mixture of songs & most importantly has a sense of togetherness & purpose after all the bickering ! The fact that they were plotting the biggest Tour in history, up to that point, must have focussed their minds a bit too haha! " hold on to your hats ! " They made the whole album in about 2 months ! I do wish they would hurry up & finish their 'new' one. But I'm greedy !
I remember hearing this song when was a teenager at 80s repeated again and again by my big brother tape deck, and couldn't argue that i just love this song... so much.
The Steel Wheels tour was the Stones telling the world they not only still had it but that they were THE GREATEST ROCK BAND IN THE WORLD! I saw the Atlantic City show in DEC '89. It was like dying and going to heaven. No joke!
I saw the Stones 89 Steel Wheels tour at the LA Coliseum. They were ON FIRE, best I'd ever seen them play live. Guns & Roses opened for them and I remember thinking the Stones would have to bring it after Axel and Slash's set.. They killed the young guns, no disrespect meant boys, but that night the Stones were the greatest rock & roll band I'd ever seen. Brought out John Lee Hooker and Eric Clapton for Red House! Truly a once in a lifetime concert.
They broke the mold when they made The Rolling Stones. One of Mr teacher's Mrs Platis mentioned she was going to their show at Shea Stadium on this tour and that she'd get me souvenirs. She got me a bandanna and a pin. Thanks Mrs P!
For sure and then Ronnie's at 3:28 pretty good as well, cant believe 34 yrs ago and still playing live just abt every year since 2012 and new album/small tour this summer
This song is beautiful, and I definitely wish that they would play it more. Mick's voice is very sexy and sultry. The Stones just know how to deliver on amazing music and rock and roll 🎉🎉.
Best SoulRock song I ever heard!!!!! There is a native call in this song, ho ho ho ho can you imagine with a hugh choir !!!!! I just passed bij and the intro got me whoehaa!!!! I foudn a pearl!!!!
deebee76 - The unmistakable sounds of their vintage Fender Stratocaster 🎸 guitars is also amazing.... This song is a cutting edge gem 💎 of a tune.... I loved it in 1989, and I still love it now, in 2021. 😎👍🏻
What ever mood you are on The Rolling Stones have multiples masterpiece in any genre of music , rock , hard , disco , dance , acid , love songs , country, ballads, blues ……. They are the greatest band ever. This song is timeless and absolutely amazing. They could do a concert of 100 songs and still missing a great one . Astonishing
Yeah, well it brings me to last year's break up, with the woman who still has my heart with her.... Break ups are extremely painful for men, as well as it is for a woman. Many men do the best they can to hide their true feelings down deep inside. Sometimes it actually ruins things.... I'm not too young, that I'm still learning to be more open, and understanding. Some things can be fixed, with open-minded discussions between both people. Some situations can't, because one of the two, are not open to trying to sit, talk, listen, and learn.... Sadly....
Bill Wyman. The classic expressionless bass player like with every band except Flea from RHCP. Or maybe it was 53 years old and he was thinking "am I still doing this?" Thanks Bill :) It wouldnt have been the same without you. GREAT SONG.
I remember the Steel Wheels album and tour. I was just graduating high school so this song as well as this album bring back so many great memories. RIP Charlie Watts.
With this... You, some ordinary guys in the past became so famous and made this World worth living... With you and after I hope. Thank you for All you did and in the future, and for all the people who enjoy your music but who cant say to you like me in some reasons. You, made a positive history. You gather ppl all over the worrld being sense and I wish to you a hundred years of living and new good music. So if any of you see this you are great and thank you for all my Life with your music. Big big thank You... All the best.
What a Band! Great performance. They keep the tempo spot on here, I have heard a version where it gets faster & faster! The album track is a masterpiece up there with Wild Horses I think, but maybe not quite ?! ( keith wrote both of them in their earliest form anyway . Jagger/Richards/ Jordan )
I wonder if the God's of our very existence realized that some privileged humans would have their lives touched for a moment through these Artists...I think so,I know so because this has brought me to tears tonight.
This song is criminally underrated
Underrated by whom ?

@@mxmx2729 really man? Go back to listening rap music or whatever your kind listens to...
@@mxmx2729 If u use the word underrated, u r always on pole position of the comments.
Fantastic song, deserved to be played live much more frequently.
Keith orginally wrote this for his main offender album, but brought it with him for steel wheels sessions, what a great decision.
Not sure why this song wasn't a bigger hit. Amazing and my favorite of all Stones songs.
1989 Competition was big!! Doesn't matter real Art is like red wine, doesn't mean shit, if a song comes out and doesn't get apreciated direct, real Art Grows.

I remember hearing this song when was a teenager at 80s repeated again and again by my big brother tape deck, and couldn't argue that i just love this song... so much.
This and Slipping Away are modern classics.
The quality of the playing was the best at this tour. Keith was in his prime, also his soloing.

My mom saw them in 2005? They played the Hollywood Bowl and I was so incredibly jealous.
She said it was worth the outrageous price. 🙌🏻

Imagine the world without the Stones? GOD NO!!!!!!!

I am not an unconditional Stones but this song in its subtle understatement is a rare gem.

I'm a U2 fan. Is it weird for me to say that this is one of the best song from the Stones i've ever heard?
No... I mean, this is the magic music brings: you can vibe to whichever song you want regardless if is from your favorite band's catalog or not.
Not at all. BTW, I adore U2 ❤
