  • Be Your Own Barista (video) How to make syrups for your coffee at home.
    • Be Your Own Barista - ...
The average coffee purchased outside the home cost about $8.00
Multiply that by 5 (if you get 1 everyday on your way to work) = $40.00
Now ask yourself, how many hours or a fraction of an hour, Do I have to work to afford that? Making coffee at home saves money...
If you are the person who buys a hot coffee in the morning and then a cold brew in the afternoon, How much are you spending in a week?
Yes, I believe we should reward ourselves on the occasion, but not everyday.
    $8.00 per coffee
    X 5 days a week
    = $40.00 a week
    X 52 weeks a year
    = $2080.00 a year
X 2 if you get 2 a day (1 in the morning and 1 in the afternoon)
    = $4160.00

I have a stainless steel reusable filter for wide mouth mason jars. It is for making cold brew. I bought it on amazon. Makes it a little easier because you just take out the filter when you're done cold brewing and the coffee is ready to go. No need to pour over a filter. You can use it in a 32oz or 64 oz mason jar.

My husband makes a pot in the morning. We pour the leftover coffee in a 1/2 gal. mason jar. I add almond milk and sugar-free Torani syrup. I need to switch to milk and maple syrup and vanilla.

Hi Grammy! In your video the tablespoon you used to measure out the coffee looked a little bigger to me than a regular measuring tablespoon. Was it an actual measuring tablespoon or was it a coffee measure (2 tablespoons) oe what?

@@ladykalene it's a tablespoon. When I go to the thrift store. I will get any measuring spoons and cup. My goal is to have the cups in my large dry good storage containers and spoons in the mason jars for quick access.

@grammyinthekitchen good to know! Thank you so much for the quick response! That's a great idea about buying up thrift store measuring cups and spoons and putting them in your storage containers.
