Thank Your for Your TIME!! I'm Brand New to Laser Engraving/Cutting (just bought My Very First Laser about 2 1/2 weeks ago) Just downloaded LightBurn Trial Version on 11-05-2023 and spent Hours Navigating the different settings and tools. I just made my first engraving today (just text), but I was no less excited. Wow, an old dog can still learn a new trick or two! I mention this because it was largely because of the generosity and kindness of other users that I was able to get anywhere. Your magnificent contribution to this community is real inspiration to become, not only a current beneficiary, but to hopefully have something to contribute eventually myself one day. Thanks for your gift, and the inspiration!
As a retired 70 year old I decided to pick up a xtool d1 diode laser and see if I could burn something up! I did with their basic software! CARDBOARD! I kept hearing about Lightburn. Took a look at it and decided that it was way TOO complicated! Then I stumbled onto YOUR TH-cam channel. MAN! What a blessing! @@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy I agree with that. I love LightBurn because it combines the CAM with the CAD. I'm surprised that LightBurn has no art though. As for me, I don't have an official laser machine. I added a 20 Watt Diode. To my WorkBee CNC Router that I built. ...It gives me a huge 1280 mm X 866 mm work area (more than enough for a laser).

Thank you Rich for all you videos they have taught me more than others I have seen as a newbie to lasers I often go back and rewatch different videos learning from them please keep them coming thanks again Kevin from popa’s shed
Thanks for sharing your libraries. One note for you, you mentioned in the video where you assigned a different cut layer to ensure that the hole in the earing was cut first. You can assign one cut layer to all cuts and in the optimization settings, check 'cut all inside cuts first' and it will do it automatically!
Great tip! I never think about that because I set it so long ago when the feature was first added. Proves you can teach an old dog new tricks 😎 I'll make sure to include it in a future video!
I watched the lightburn 101 and I was hooked instantly I love the deep dive into this software I just got the Xtool D1 5w and before I even used it I preordered the 20w laser and the air assist, I love the capabilities of this machine and the lightburn software. Wow. I am impressed. What a talent you have and so kind to share. I am a newbie and will definitely learn tons from you. Thank you!
Not as much talent Deb as learning as I go. Sharing my learning experience has turned out to be a new hobby in itself! Thank you so much for watching!
I know this video is a year old but I want to say thanks for the knowledge and expertise you are willing to share. New subscriber. I just got my OLM3 yesterday and can't wait to get started. I'll be headed over to your site to check out the forums.

Hi Rich, I just want to thank you so much for all of your experience and knowledge. I am new to the lasers and I was very intimidated, BUT now with your help I am a little more comfortable and I am sure I can do this. You have so many videos out there and I have been going though all of them. You are a great instructor and a simple Thank you does not express my gratitude. Thank you again

Thanks Rich!
This will be a great help once I get Lightburn up and running. I wish I had known about this when starting my Vectric Vcarve for my CNC router; it would have been much nicer. As far as watch hours go, I will be providing "a bunch"!
Thanks again!
Awesome James, thanks for watching!
Thanks for all this info. I just bought my first laser and this video was very helpful. I registered on your website but I'm not completely set up yet so I'm waiting to download your files. I've been studying lightburn and this helped me. Thanks so much.
Glad it was helpful Pat! The download category is on the main page of the forum.
Can't thank you enough for all the information you have been providing. It requires a lot of time and effort to do what you do. And now sharing your files... Amazing!
Thank YOU so much for participating Giovanni!
Thank you! Just started trying to use laser and was so lost until I found your posts
Glad I could help Liz! Welcome to the obsession! 🤪
Thank you Rich for all you videos they have taught me more than others I have seen as a newbie to lasers I often go back and rewatch different videos learning from them please keep them coming thanks again Kevin from popa’s shed
You got it Kevin! I love making these!
Rich. I really dig the channel. You're the Norm Abram of laser-y stuff.
Thanks Scott! Except I have to constantly correct myself! 🤪
GRAZIE!
Wow dude you have done a mountain of work and you have been kind enough to share it. THANK YOU!!!!!!!
My pleasure Warren! Glad you enjoyed it!
I watched the lightburn 101 and I was hooked instantly I love the deep dive into this software I just got the Xtool D1 5w and before I even used it I preordered the 20w laser and the air assist, I love the capabilities of this machine and the lightburn software. I just want to say thank you for all the knowledge, I became a patreon because I absolutely want to help you put more of this info out there, massive help! Thank you again!
My pleasure Craig, and thanks for the support! I sent you a note on Patreon.
thank you for tutorial and the offer for the art. I am just about to upgrade to an xtool d1 pro from a small hobby laser the laserpecker 1 pro. I am a little aprehensive about how difficult lightburn will be to learn. but your videos are well thought out and pretty easy to understand. thanks again.
Take the time to learn Lightburn Rudy. This is amazing software, and no other laser software even compares to it.
Thank you very much. From Russia with love!
Thank you too!

Great to hear! Thank you for watching! 👍
Thank You for sharing your Knowledge of Lightburn with us
My pleasure Dan!
Brand new Ortur laser owner and the struggle is real! Most of my issues are related to cut settings - either not cutting all the way through the project, or producing a fire alarm. So glad to have found your cut library and fingers crossed it will improve my experience. Headed to your site now, but thank you for sharing your expertise. Hoping to prevent a potential break up from a new hobby that I am really excited about!
Get the universal test card in the forum as well Greg. I use it all the time.
