as someone whos compared both in real life I have to disagree. First off, Theres a lot more thumb movement in the original rivals. Never experienced any "finger slippage" in the newest version. The cuff feel better on the originals and the leather looks way better. The originals are very big when you compared the padding. The 2.0 is the better glove for sure
Yesss I've been waiting for this one as well back when he did the rs100 review he stated about the thumb on these was wondering when it was gonna be made. I like how they fixed up alot of the stitching on the 2.0s looks sharper
hi, does rival already fix all the thumb "connector part" to bat wings type? i mean do all the colorway get the correction? or just the gold one? since i see yours in the black colorway still got the thin connector
Thinking of getting my son some of these. Looked on the rival site and I can’t see ones with a bat wing. Could they be using the original images still. Has anyone bought some from rival directly recently?
i'm wondering between buying these and the rs100. the 100s are a bit more expensive but i heard finger compartment and comfort of these is superior. How do they compare?
Which of these versions would have the most protective and maybe more "pillowy" knuckle padding/foam? I have wrist and shoulder injuries and have been looking for a glove I can use on the bag and have my shots dampened so the impact doesn't rush up to my wrists and shoulder. I've been meaning to get some Winning gloves for this purpose but everywhere seems to be sold out at the moment. Just to note, I've made sure with 3 different boxing coaches and they all say my punching technique is correct it's just my wrist and my shoulder can't really handle the impact.
padding is thicker on the leather version. for you though you probably need to look into how you are wrapping your hands and technique over gloves. Do you use a knuckle guard as well?
@@timm5970 No knuckle guards, coaches gave me the OK on wrapping style as well. I'm thinking about getting the fortress quickwraps or the boxraw knuckle guards, though. My knuckles are sometimes bruised or cut a bit if I'm not using gauze and I smash a heavy bag but I honestly don't care too much so I typically focus 60-70% of my wraps on my wrists
@@Fit2Box thanks. Would you say the fortress is a bulky glove? Issue is my hands are a bit small but I have to use 16 0z I have the phenom sg10 in 16s but they feel a bit too big on the inside
I love the ergonomics and the closed position of the fist, plus every easy to open and close your hand, just don't like the softer foam and the synthetic leather. I've been looking for the original in 16oz but they are all gone and Rival is no longer going to make them.
I just gave away my RS1s and ordered a pair of SG210s lace ups. Everytime I go to the body when sparring i would jar or injury my thumbs. Something that just doesn't happen with other brands. It seems more position rather than lack of padding
I had the original RS1 and it was terrible. I couldn’t use it on the bag without hurting my hands, and that was even with the Winning gel knuckle pads in my wraps. The padding was simply too soft. I actually sent them back to the company and the President of the company told me there was nothing wrong with them.
I have to say these featured in the video have been excellent (albeit sparring) over a number of years Tbf to rival they are sold as a sparring glove and they do have specialist bag gloves specifically made for bag’s
All the rivals do with that microfibre lining. Your hands sweats more in it and it's doesn't dry well. I would use a boot drier on them to stop them stinking
I just gave away my RS1 original gloves because. 1) you need a boot dryer or else they stink due to the amount of synthetic material that doesn't dry like traditional materials 2) repeated thumb capsular injuries, that only happens with those gloves, seems position related rather than lack of padding..... I've a pair of sg210s on the way, looking forward to using them after seeing the reviews.
I have the RS1 2.0 in gold just for sparring and they are the most comfortable gloves I’ve ever used
What gloves have you tried??
Do the color fade?

Crazy how he says the rs1 2.0 csnt be used for sparring and get its one of the most popular sparring gloves in the market today,

What is the widest width of these gloves once the laces are loosened?
Hi. I have wide hands 9.5 inches all the way round. Including a hand wrap, would this glove fit me in 10oz?
pls make a video from the sabas Bella Series-Laced
Perfect timing! :)
Great one Simon it’s fair to say the RS100 might be the better option than any of these, wouldn’t you agree big man?

They will be guerrero fight gloves

I think the original Rs1 leather version

One thing I like about the Rivals is the ergonomics and closed first position once you put them one. How did the SG210's compare?
None leather though? That can't be good
I definitely preferred the leather original RS1
They copied the faulty rival lol 🤣🤣
