Watching this for the first time, and MAN listening to Peggy (Nikkie) handling the Sinkerton Mine dealings is amazing. Wow. Also the momentary pause of the music when Booker (Andy) says they should convince Hazel to go up and get the amulet is an amazing coincidence and I laughed listening.
I'm listening to this for the first time, and enjoying it. At the two hour mark, is that "La serenissima" by Loreena McKennitt? If so, that's freaking awesome.
you say that it's different from d&d in that rolls are only done when it's not clear what the outcome will be but that's exactly how d&d ability rolls are supposed to be.
Maybe my memory is off, but isnt this the forest Sarnax was from? Edit: just hit me, his was the Eidelwood. But he did also have the aristocratic bird people.
We used Inkarnate! We wanted to reference the original Root map for position of clearings and paths, but we changed the flavor of each clearing. We highly recommend Inkarnate!
After we finished the map in Inkarnate, we exported it as a PNG and added the clearing names and symbols via Photoshop. Each of the meeples are a separate asset in OBS so we can actually move them around the overlay during our stream, but you could also add these via Photoshop.
@@LegendsofAvantris wow thanks guys! I can't wait to try my map and campaign with friends this weekend. I'm so proud of it. I've been watching your campaign bit by bit cause it takes time, but I will see it through :)
Peggy just rubs me the wrong way. Everyone agrees to talk with Smiles and she instantly gets antagonistic. She also snapped when it was merely suggested they could use fangs as weapons. Not to mention she has a charecter mechanic where she get benefits from pissing party off. I like Nikki, but i have played with this kind of charecter before and it is not fun trying to constantly intercede to keep NPCs from getting mad. Feel for Booker...
The only thing that gets me about her(Peggy the character) is her refusing to understand the concept of idioms/metaphors/similes. I just didn’t think the joke was funny, and it just kept coming up again and again. Otherwise I actually kind of appreciate her odd system of ethics.
@@WASDLeftClick All characters need flaws in order to make any scenario play out in an interesting fashion. But in Peggy's case, it was KIND of fun the first time, but then it becomes this very disruptive running joke that messes with the flow and sucking up all the oxygen in the room. I think she tones it down a bit later on but man I can't imagine how exhausting it must be to be in the same party as her.
the only thing that annoys me about this dnd campaign is that sometimes they forget about the consequences, like the spider venomously biting into Grumley didn't have any consequences like they just forgot about it, same with stealing the booze from the bar keep, i thought maybe panic could have ensued because alabaster couldn't find his fucking supply and smiles getting impatient or something, consequences to this admittingly meaningfully playful campaign
“I don’t kill anyone in the tinkering process.” *Literally killed someone yesterday testing out a spider venom dart*
To be fair, that was the testing phase, not the tinkering phase.
Its so weird to hear Grumley's voice after coming from Witchlight, it sounds so close to Gricko's
I can agree with this
Reminds me more of Briggsy TBH
Oh you’re right! I just came from Icebound, and I think Booker sounds like Skrimm haha
Same!! I keep thinking that Grumley is Mikey instead of Richie 😅
100% agree
Only Andy would consider selling stolen snake oil soap successfully as a small con 😂
Man could swindle the throne from the Eyrie Dynasty, and still consider it a smalltime con just because he didn’t get the Marquise de Cat too.

Anybody else think mikey's anthropomorphic animal npcs are more realistic than most human videogame npcs?
tabletop rpg npcs are generally able to actually react to the actions of the pcs so yeah they tend to feel more realistic than video game npcs
Lol I love what Mikey is doing with Sal, Love it
Jamidy and Mary Canary are the same damn character. 😂
A canary named Mary GlitterGulch...
I really hope now there is a handcart or minecart race in the mines for a piece of gold. That would make my day 😆
Handcart definitely, just not a ladybug cart (shudder)...
Booker’s absolute horror when Peggy suggests that he chew off his tongue.
Edit for timestamp: 1:59:40
"This is a town full of miners"
Drake:
Holy hell their twins 😂 perception isn't where I am a viking apperantly
Wow. I was just as shocked at the ending as them, mouth open and everything. Holy shit
so this is the Root of Skrimm? 🤔
Yes Booker, skrimms fursona
The drunk Mary the canary is my new fav NPC..... Just shit faced out in the woods 😂
Great show! Thanks y'all! 🥰

I now understand and sympathize with Mikey going weird with his characters after seeing how much of a shit starter Proto Peggy was here.
30:00 imagine if what they ran into in the mines, is the magical malific mole people. Yes this is my first time watching this campaign.
37:17 allow us into this... banaña...

Who?
Oh!! I just got that!
Good catch
I just finished strahdanya last night. I think I'd cry like a baby if Sarnax cane up in a cameo 😅😅
Aw Jamidy good to see she still lives lol
AWWW THEY ARE SO YOUNG
2:50 Disaster not even 3 mins in 😂
Hey guys!
What programme did you use to draw the map?
I love your campaign! :)

How did you add clearing symbols and meeples to the map?

Rickie rolled well enough to stop the consequences of the spider's venom (giving 1 point of exhaustion). But, I do agree with the missing booze.
