- Das Intro zu FlatOut 2, dem PC-Rennspiel aus dem Jahr 2006 mit der Lizenz zum Rasen und Zerstören. Das Spiel ist als Vollversion in der aktuellen "PC Action"-Ausgabe (10/2009) vorhanden (oder man findet es für max. 10 Euro im Laden) und macht richtig Laune.
Brachial durch die Gegend fetzen, alles umfahren, rammen und wegstoßen was nicht niet- und nagelfest ist. Ergo, man kann so richtig die Sau rauslassen. Ob Rennen, Destruction Derby oder witzige Stunt Shows, FlatOut 2 hat jede Menge Action zu bieten und macht Spaß :).

I eliminate her easily no worries, I ride next to her car and when someone tries to push us both we push him. But of course I win the race by speeding above her.
This game is one of those hidden gems in gaming history that's often lost to time. God the memories of my childhood came driving back and hit me like Frank Malcov in a demolition derby.
For me it was Sofia with her Canyon inexplicably being the one of the fastest and strongest opponents simultaneously.
Still need a Remaster. It is a godly Racing game.

Wreckfest is so lame compared to this. The atmosphere in this is so wild and energetic. Wreckfest feels so dead. And there's no nitro system even! Always so satisfying to gain nitro from smashing into things or other racers. And then smash into other racers with that extra boost and watch that health bar crumble. It feels amazing.
No. The entourage of childhood and nostalgia will be lost. In addition, you will overpay for the old game. What for?

@@NatCo-Supremacist I noticed on the oval track he never manages to keep going straight with everyone else if you stay near him and keep track of him he always spins out and smashes into the wall you park and wait long enough and eventually you'll see the message saying Frank was destroyed

God this was such a good game, i'm sorry but next car game 'Wreckfest' wishes it was as good as this gem. Don't get me wrong, its a good game, but it will never hold a candle to the legend that is Flatout.

Wreckfest is more of a hard-body physics simulator. They haven't made a proper game yet.

@@NatCo-Supremacist in Flatout 2 and its remaster ultimate carnage due to the different physics engines from the original Flatout you have to be careful and considerate about jumping cuz you could possibly lose control and spin out and that happening only once is enough for me to quit or restart a race entirely
The days that we had the best intros or trailers for games like this without any huge cinematic troll like now.

I'd watch the entire intro every time I started a game of FlatOut 2. Too bad they replaced the song with some forgettable indie rock in Ultimate Carnage.

I think Ultimate Carnage is the definitive Flatout game. It took this game and improved it further.

the one thing that confuses me about this game, is that why Street was the "Top Tier" cars, instead of Race. For Derby, sure, they were meant to ram the heck out of one another, and vice versa with Race. One (of many) that I can think of, is that they try to shed as much weight as they can, making them faster, but also more fragile than their "normal" counterpart.

@@briancastro313 Exactly. I was 15 at the time of FO2 and the quality of gameplay, music and everything else blew me away. Have been a huge fan of Destruction Derby and Driver on PSX since I was a kid. We never really stop playing with cars I guess.

this game came out in 2006 and not only is it my 2nd favourite racing game of all time but it had better destruction physics than most racing games today, the only racing game that has better destruction physics is Next Gen car game.
The physics are 50* better than Beam NG drive.
Boi what? NCG: Wreckfest is mostly a hardbody engine, Beam NG is one of the most sophisticated Soft body physics engines ever created.
Well, NCG *is* made by the same guys who made the original Flatout, so I know why you'd like it.
yeah, I adore NCG, especially with the most recent update, but the idea that it has a better physics engine than Beam.NG is laughable.
Burnout Paradise has the best destruction physics...
Hah, nope, sorry but BeamNG's custom made engine is the most advanced of it's kind, burnout and flatout are built to be games, but beam is built from the ground up to be a super accurate physics engine

After Flatout 2 Ultimate Carnage Bugbear lost the ability to make the games. Flatout 3 and 4 were made by different companies.
Bugbear went on to make Wreckfest, which released last year, it's basically the true Flatout 3
I still play this, my friends and I got a mod to get multiplayer working again. We play it a few hours a week still
