Have the VW version of this with SWB and 4WD. Quite capable for light duty off road, especially sand. Love it to bits, as it has got us where we wanted with economy and comfort.
Top little practical review guys! Covered allot of key topics about buying one. We bought one about a year ago and haven't looked back as a family. We have 2 girls 5 and 7 who love this machine! I was looking for something that was a fine Monday to Friday drive (tick) and we could get away as a family and have a de-tech escape as we both have demanding corporate jobs (tick). VW only do 2 people campers (@$120k onwards) so the sleeping 4 was a no brainer for us. We also bought an after market kitchenette with waeco fridge, sink, cooker and top quality mattress for downstairs from Vanessa that our Benz dealer installed as well. I can't recommend this highly enough to complete your get away machine (I don't work or get paid by Vanessa but just great gear for all Merc and VW campers but happy to plug stuff that works well). Girls sleep upstairs in good sleeping bags, no complaints in winter either (like they sleep in longer in this van than they do at home). The diesel heater is a complete winner for warmth. Done -5 nights in it and put it on in the morning on wakeup. I would go further than the guys and say the heater usability is appalling. WAY TOO COMPLICATED for the need. I'd settle for a simple on/off button. Yes it can get hot in summer but you can buy aftermarket screen mesh setups for back tail gate, front or side sliding doors. We did this in 40 degrees in Bright over last Christmas and happy days now. We also got the 2018 model which has the rear power sockets separated on the second battery for fridge, phones and usb fan if you need one. Piece of mind on not flattening the car battery and we can get 3 days of running fridges without starting the car to charge. We've done 20k since new and I just can't think of why I would never not have this car now. I can fit kids bikes inside the van as well. We did 2 weeks in Tassie taking it across on the boat and could have done 4-6 weeks. The other unexpected bonus is visiting friends overnight on weekends or holidays. Just pull up in the driveway and sleep (think of Lampoons Christmas). I also agree with the reviewers that the only thing I'd like is all wheel drive for extra needed traction mud or snow. Yes its a bit of cash upfront (still way cheaper than VW) but we haven't spent much money on holidays since including load more adventure memories for the kids.
You also can get this Marco Polo camper with a full kitchen. In the summer of 2019, the new Mercedes Marco Polo comes as a facelift with new engines and 9-speed automatic transmission. Unfortunately, there is no MBUX yet
Love the review!! Just wondering if there is a third row seating option instead of just the padded parcel shelf? And what is the option of cooling while camped?
Bummer we can't get the Marco Polo in North America! They would sell like muffins on sale in California. If they did sell them here I'd buy one myself just to get away from the wife every weekend but most people who buy them will live in them full-time. #vanlife
Oh no. This is the other model without the kitchen and storage. No thank you. Review the full feature model. To my knowledge, this is NOT the Marco Polo Edition.
Lovely little LGBT+ friendly documentary, would've been nice to see more of the bloody vehicle than all the mindnumbing and irrelevant convo mate...Jeeeezus!

Would this sleep 5…2 normal sized adults and 2 lean girls (12,10) and a 5 year old?

Can you put rear facing car seats in this vehicle?
Sarsha Rivers ...of course, you can !

Marco...MARCO??? MARCOOO!!! Ohh shit wheres the camper now?? ....at the dealership getting repaired again...gawd damn it lol
Hmmmm interesting never thought of a camper that can be used on everyday use.
How much storage? If your camping & no creek may need the fridge/cooker
Can't tell whether this is about the car or about fishing.
Think it more about their beautiful relationship.

What river was this on?
I just come from the macleay in northern NSW with zero fish.
Looks awesome though
That will be the door handle damaged then from the awning poles
VW California, that's the real functional daily user and the weekender
Sandeep Rai you forgot to mention it costs 70k what a rip off
Sandeep Rai ...but, is just a old-style car with a VW-Logo ! 😁

Wao its good and lovely car
Thanks, a very good video...!
I can feel what you means...;-)
Mate mate mate
Good for covid WFH ✅
So it's basically VW Camper with Mercedes badge
Way better than vw
too small to be a proper camper van
It's bigger than the vw California
I’m here for the cars, not to hear about fish.
