All the teams internationally might not have been as good, but it's also kind of a fact that back then, euro league players could afford to pay their stars more than the NBA could pay them to be roll players so a lot of them didn't want to even take the chance attempt to become an NBA star.
The gap is not nearly as big as the gap in NBA players would make you think.

In what world do they have better depth? Are you saying this exclusively because of Christian Latener because otherwise it doesn't make any sense at all.

The 92 "Dream Team" is still the greatest team ever assembled. Sorry LeBron, but Magic, Michael and Charles et all were better.

Even if “the world has gotten better”, that does not mean the top teams have gotten better than the top teams of past years. The 1992 Croatia team and even possibly the Lithuania team stack up just fine against today’s international teams if you look at the rosters. And they got demolished by the Dream Team.
The only argument for ‘24 being better is an illogical argument. The statement that “the world has gotten better” is an unprovable statement, therefore it is completely useless. Logically, “the world has gotten worse” holds the same value as the previous statement.
The number of foreign NBA players is also a horrendous measurement of improvement since the number of NBA players in general have increased to an extra 216 per year at a minimum, and many other non talent related factors make it easier now for international players to move to USA and play in the NBA.

@@Taj_Rahine well 4 out of the top 5 players in the NBA are not from USA so it would be ridiculous to say the world hasn't gotten better when the best international player in 92 wasn't a top 10 in the world

@@LyricReactsYT from a logical perspective it can’t really be proven that those guys would be the best players if they played in 1992. And honestly someone like Sabonis may have been one of the best guys in the world if he played in the NBA in 1992, but for political reasons he did not go until he was old and his knees were done. But I’m pretty sure he had the best statistical performance of all 92 Olympians at 24 pts 13 rebs per game. Best player in the world? If Giannis, Luka, and Jokic were just as good but stayed as pros in Europe would we consider them the best players in the world or just some non NBA players?
And anyway, im not trying to use that argument, just pointing out how silly it is to say “the world has gotten better” that’s why a team that barely beat South Sudan (and others) is better than the team that won by 44 pts on average. I mean Dream Team isn’t untouchable but this group in no way earned a Dream Team comparison, they’re not even the 2nd best team USA imo.
I don’t see how 1 great player on Serbia justifies a 4 point range margin of victory compared to what the dream team was doing. Even if the guys you mentioned are the best in the world, that doesn’t explain the South Sudan game or the France game being so close, or Germany etc.
