Conor didn’t fought over 3 rounds in FW, and the one instance he did fight 3 rounds, he spent most of the time of the third and last two minutes of the second round on the ground bc he tore is acl (against Holloway). After his knockout of Jose Aldo he jumped to Welterweight from featherweight to fight Nate. He was "full belly" Conor lol. He never returned to featherweight after that. His fights with Nate were iconic but he certainly didn't move as well as he did at featherweight and gassed in Rnd 2. Round 2! He's much better than he was here. The problem is the rest of the roster is also much better than they were in 2015. Poirier II fight Conor didn't even know what a calf kick was coz he'd been out so long.
He was something special back then. It all changed when he started to get all that attention and all that money. He may have never beaten Khabib, but that doesn't mean Conor still couldn't have been right there at #2 or #1 in another weight class.
Every decision he made was perfect, even the questionable ones. It molded into what would become a great UFC story. He was a legend in his time but his time has come to an end.
Conor didn't break sweat taking apart one of the toughest fighters in UFC history. That is how good he was. He was also very humane for not destroying Siver at the end.
Honestly it’s insane how calm Connor was, he was the one looking like the seasoned vet. Saw he had him hurt and just took his time that fight could’ve been stopped when his back hit the cage

Hungry Mcgregor was an animal. I truly believe he will never be this Conor again. He did everything. First 2 division champ in history, 13 second KO against #2 or 3 P4P fighter at the time, Top earning athlete in 2020. Its done. Its hard to be motivated when you are that rich and have achieved that much. You have to have pure passion for the sport and I think conor lost it in a way. Look at canelo. That man makes over 30 mil a fight and hes still hungrier more then ever. Canelo even said he makes over 1 mil a month from his investments and he just fights out of the pure love of boxing. I dont think Conor truly loves fighting anymore.
Conor’s motivation was never to be a complete martial artist. He just wanted to be filthy rich. So he used his singular weapon ( powerful left hand) to take him to the top. The true martial artists of 155lbs Poirier, Oliveira, Khabib, etc can win a fight in so many different ways and aren’t doing it for the $$ but to be the best.

@Wrulol 3 different weight classes? What are you smoking bro? And just because they agreed to fight at 170 doesn't make them actual welterweights. Diaz is undersized at 170. Awesome performance and win. Opponent was cocky (no fist shake/bump) ... and even when the guy went down, Conor checked to make sure he wasn't already out instead of just beating on him (as other pukes do when the KNOW the guy is already out)...after he noted the guy was still trying, he went in for the kill. Honorable.
No featherweight, past or present, beats this Conor McGregor. I know some will get all excited about Ilia but not even he could beat Conor in his prime.
Unpopular opinion: Conor McGregor had an easy road to the title. In that time there were many tough guys in the featherweight division like Cub Swanson, The Korean Zombie, Charles Oliveira, Jeremy Stephens, etc. He didn't face those guys. Every fight is different and yeah he beat Aldo, but UFC didn't make McGregor to face the toughest guys in the featherweight division to get the title shot, but worked for him lol.
Your not wrong, but that's business. Prime frankie, Prime Cub, Prime Zombie, and Prime Lamas. 4 very tough opponents that were far better than Dustin and Dennis at the time. We missed out on so many great fights, and got the Diaz fights in return, which to this day never really told us much besides that Conor is a mentally strong fellow, and knows how to come back and make basic adjustments (utilize low kicks). It's a real shame we never got the Aldo rematch, Conor always had a susceptibility to low kicks which we saw in the first Dustin fight, he was 9 for 9 (100% accuracy) on his low kicks against Conor even way back in 2014. We know Conor isn't a traditional power puncher and that Aldo's heart and will to win is very strong, he showed that in the Max fights. A rematch would've still been a 50/50 fight. Conor is a remarkable talent though, and his chin and willingness to move forward made his fights exciting and fun to watch. But his brief stint in the division, and lack of top wins will always keep him from being a true FW GOAT contender, but he was among the best for sure.
W@@themightyruler1319 To be fair, aldo rejected the rematch. Hell of a ride but I agree with everything else that was said. Wouldve been a hell of a couple of fights.

Hungry Conor lost to nate Diaz and joe Duffy. His ground game was exposed a long time ago
Conor’s motivation was never to be a complete martial artist. He just wanted to be filthy rich. So he used his singular weapon ( powerful left hand) to take him to the top.
