@@BulletFever409 Been using Descript and now using Davinci Resolve. Davinci is loads better... Just didn't really notice the sync issue until it was too late. If you ignore the sync issue I think we're getting better though... right? Right guys?!

Long time viewers know that all of the boys have had rough patches where they have had to bow out for a bit. The heavy music awards come to mind first but many others big and small have taken place. Jake might be the ironman of TPD but he is allowed the same grace everyone else gets... but of course with the same gentle ball busting as well. As the channel ages finding the right balance without burning out is going to be important. We want to see this thing last and burning the candle at both ends isn't sustainable. Rest, regroup, and lets keep the posi vibes going! 🤘
I can totally understand Jake's decision tbh. It might be harder for a younger audience to understand but travelling, drinking everyday, eating like shit, not exercising and being sleep deprived can take its toll on your physical and mental health. Not to mention impacts on your relationship. I wouldn't be able to live like these guys and keep my shit together. Obviously you would feel obligated in Jake's situation not to let the team down which is probably why he went along with it initially and I'm sure he regrets not saying no earlier. Good lesson for all of us that its okay to say 'no' to your mates/job sometimes, but dont string em along if you dont feel it deep down cause most of the time your mind won't change until its too late.
Respect to Jake for addressing it even when you didnt need to. Easy for people to judge but as a chronic people pleaser with constant anxiety, sometimes it is fight or flight (literally in this case) at the last minute. Cant always choose when your brain decides no, it's enough.

The Orgy notice on the app was the final straw for Jake - I know it sucks that the team lost money, but anxiety is a bitch - He'll be better off for this experience now, whether to commit fully nor not!!

Some proper weird comments on here. If you're not in the right headspace to effectively "perform" in an enviroment you don't feel comfortable in, nothing good will come from it. I bet the same people making this a huge deal would of been the ones moaning that Jake seemed "off" if he did go. Obviously yeah, was a bit late so i can see some people of the team being miffed from a financial perspective but sometimes mental health comes first and i'm sure the overall product was better as a result anyway.

I had this recently - I pulled out of a festival. I just wasn't in the right headspace for it at the time and felt anxious about it. Pulled out and usually would have fomo, but honestly just needed to fucking relax for the weekend, so felt quite good about it. It's easy for stuff to get on top of you and it's better to be honest and sit it out. Your own wellbeing is so important.

Jake: I get it. Burning Man seems kinda scary. Almost a lawless, American type of weirdness set in a desert, so far away from 'proper' civilisation. No real rules. Sod that. I bet there was so much stuff going on that either couldn't be filmed (and shown) or were hidden away for other reasons. They mentioned in the video that it's not a festival. It's a gathering of like minded individuals.... and I'm not like minded.... Good decision buddy.
Just felt like sending love to you all, every person part of TPD, you all bring your unique personalities to what you do and I sincerely enjoy all you do and enjoy each person. Going to this many festivals, it is inevitable that a human being will have this happen at some point. I always got the impression that these guy's friendships come before the channel, and in that respect I think some commenters are putting way too much importance on Jake missing Burning Man. The videos have been hailed as some of the channel's best ever and you have to think about what they would have been like when it was clear that someone was really struggling to be there. My longest friendship is approaching 30 years long and something like this wouldn't break that. You just take the piss about it afterwards.

I give in to the pressure to work 5 days a week and most weekends. I think if it was paid for with his own money out of his own pocket you'd be 100% right. TPD is a small businness. I struggle to imagine telling my boss I can't go to work because I watched a video that put me off! BTW a lot of the 'sex' stuff is very lighthearted (or even just a total joke) - however there is quite a bit of .. everything there. I've been to the Orgy Dome and it's actually very civilized ;-) It's hard to describe BM because there's nothing remotely to compare it to. It is amazing tho
I really respect Jake for knowing that at this time in his life Burning Man was not for him. I honestly don't think anyone should go unless they are going with a fully open heart and mind. There's a lot that goes on there that leans more spiritual than the way you seem to have taken it BUT, it's far, far better to go there at least once in your life when YOU are ready to go. I think it's better not to go than to go and waste the time. These days there are a lot of people showing up to Burning Man who completely miss the entire point and who are kind of ruining it as a result.

You've probably got one of the best views in Leeds in that apartment. I live closer to Manchester (Burnley unfortunately), but always preferred Leeds as a City. Which is a good job beacuse I'm there quite a bit.
I enjoyed the video but I would also have zero interest in ever attending Burning Man. That video was enough to cull the curiosity. Fair play for having the self worth to cancel at the last minute as most would have just gone through with it and resented their choice.

Audio sync issues, have you looked at the rode rodecaster video, only released last week but it could be a great addition , auto switching and will solve the sync issues You can also connect direct to the iPhone and have a multi iPhone set up Love what you do

Waits months (while he doesn't want to go) before checking it out and doing his homework and then when he does do his homework he does it the night before and really puts zero effort into it. Doesn't go, others could have gone in his place. Then he says the video looked 'boring', lol. I know that was a slip up. If being a TH-cam person is a job, it's not just about the turning up (which he didn't do) but all the homework and prep etc (which he didn't do, despite the need for more if he was worried. He could have messaged 'Burners' to get an insight or two.). I like the dude though, seems very friendly.
TBH the lack of prep hurt a lot of vids this year. Hopefully this year was a good learning opportunity, particularly when it come to international events.
Yeah true, does appear that his reservations weren't addressed but we can't know what goes on behind everything and what discussions went on between the guys to assume other options weren't floated. Most of them have full time jobs and probably have a limited amount of holiday they can take and may not have had time left to book off to go in his place. I hope he's alright though. Otherwise it comes across as a tad irresponsible to himself and the Team to not think about it right when it was initially planned, do his homework then and say no at the start. It's not the Team's responsibility to withdraw him from the event because he had doubts and they can't buy him a ticket to every event just in case. He is very friendly and laid back but maybe too laid back about the level of opportunity he squandered (for him or another) when push came to shove if you know what I mean. Let's hope the Team will involve him in future events as this makes him a risky investment for future business decisions being honest. I bet it takes a lot of Patreon donations to pay for a trip to Burning Man including flights etc!
@chrisf3379 I can totally see your point, if he did have his reservations like I said there are means on his part like you suggested to look into the festival a bit more before agreeing or once he had, to see what he was in for. Sounds like the rest of TPD aren't very happy with him, and can't blame them. Don't understand how he can say that it's something that hasn't been discussed amongst themselves yet goes on to say how they are all disappointed and frustrated and seemingly singing from the same sheet in regards to the situation. Well last year thousands of attendees were stranded for days on that mud filled desert so in some ways it could feel intense for people with the stories that have taken place.

Nobody is forced to go the orgy camp. BM have so many different theme camps. To bail out on BM is kinda not cool, y'know. to fly out to US - a huge event & costing mad expensive money. Luckily, the video is very enjoyable to watch. Next time JV - plan wisely, take time out & not overwork every week.

I enjoyed the video but I would also have zero interest in ever attending Burning Man. That video was enough to cull the curiosity. Fair play for having the self worth to cancel at the last minute as most would have just gone through with it and resented their choice.

Says yes to going? Waits months (while he doesn't want to go) before checking it out and doing his homework and then when he does do his homework he does it the night before and really puts zero effort into it. Doesn't go, others could have gone in his place. Then he says the video looked 'boring', lol. I know that was a slip up. If being a TH-cam person is a job, it's not just about the turning up (which he didn't do) but all the homework and prep etc (which he didn't do, despite the need for more if he was worried. He could have messaged 'Burners' to get an insight or two.). I like the dude though, seems very friendly.
TBH the lack of prep hurt a lot of vids this year. Hopefully this year was a good learning opportunity, particularly when it come to international events.

Yeah true, does appear that his reservations weren't addressed but we can't know what goes on behind everything and what discussions went on between the guys to assume other options weren't floated. Most of them have full time jobs and probably have a limited amount of holiday they can take and may not have had time left to book off to go in his place. I hope he's alright though. He comes across like a good guy.
@@missingaha101 I think if it was anxiety or ill health the fair play. Otherwise it comes across as a tad irresponsible to himself and the Team to not think about it right when it was initially planned, do his homework then and say no at the start. It's not the Team's responsibility to withdraw him from the event because he had doubts and they can't buy him a ticket to every event just in case. He is very friendly and laid back but maybe too laid back about the level of opportunity he squandered (for him or another) when push came to shove if you know what I mean. Let's hope the Team will involve him in future events as this makes him a risky investment for future business decisions being honest. I bet it takes a lot of Patreon donations to pay for a trip to Burning Man including flights etc!
@chrisf3379 I can totally see your point, if he did have his reservations like I said there are means on his part like you suggested to look into the festival a bit more before agreeing or once he had, to see what he was in for. Hindsight unfortunately. Especially with the money side of things. I'm sure they will keep him involved, he's had a wobble. Just hope he's not being to harsh on himself, things happen.
For the live podcast on stage at a festival think a good idea would be a podcast but include a TPD best bits/funny moments to help break the ice with the crowd

Sounds like the rest of TPD aren't very happy with him, and can't blame them. I’m not really one to air dirty laundry publicly so I’m not going to do that - but please just be aware that all the comments you are making come from one side of a story, about one specific event.
There have been a number of attacks on peoples character in the group based SOLELY on what you’ve heard in this podcast.
Please just be mindful, once again, that this piece of content is ONE person telling a story from ONE point of view. I’m not gonna say more than that because quite frankly it’s something that we need to discuss amongst ourselves instead of going on a platform and delivering a curated message.
In my opinion this podcast was a huge misfire and a really silly move to put out given that it’s not even something we’ve discussed amongst ourselves - but I obviously have no involvement in the pod (despite it being shot in my living room).
We are ALL disappointed and frustrated but we do appreciate most of your comments come from love and care and it is a testament to a great community.

Nobody is forced to go the orgy camp. BM have so many different theme camps. To bail out on BM is kinda not cool, y'know. to fly out to US - a huge event & costing mad expensive money. Luckily, the video is very enjoyable to watch. Next time JV - plan wisely, take time out & not overwork every week.
I can somewhat sympathise with the money aspect, however, I stand by how I felt in that situation. To plan "more wisely" is not as easy as you'd think.

@@SecretVoid-u8j Interesting that it's "Rob" paying for the flights and tickets as the money paid for it is just as much mine, just as it is his, Briody's, Raz's etc etc. Times are hard, I'm not disputing that, though nothing is stopping people from doing what we do, anyone can do it, but again, unless you're in this exact situation you won't understand. We're very fortunate for what we're able to do, and our struggles/issues may be different to those who work a 9 to 5 but that doesn't mean our issues are any less meaningful/impactful.
