Sho's line after he gets Mizuki and Tetsuro to safety, "I have to help because he...because I am a Guyver!" Sho taking the reigns and deciding what it means to be a Guyver. That final fight and Guyvers 1 and 3 together beating Zector's final form. And after all that Sho manages to get out of there alive and Mizuki running to him. Realizing how much he has done for her. I say again, One of the greatest episodes of any anime EVER.
Yeah, had Guyver ended here it would have been a SOLID ending to the series. A shortrun but a VERY satisfying conclusion to the story. It definitely feels like an ending since the '89 OVA didn't continue till '93 with episodes 7-12.
This dub is so much better than the other one. The audio effects sound so much better and the keeping of the actual theme song, especially in the final fight, makes it work best.
Yeah I dunno why Manga Entertainment messed with the dub when they re-released the OVA. Makes getting my hands on the original VHS to convert to DVD a priority.
@@KnightedSilverWolf except Guyver 1’s control medal was in tact whereas Guyver 2’s was not as it had sustained damaged before hand, which played a part in causing his control medal to malfunction.

This caused it to eventually crack and be violently ejected when struck. The damaged medal was unable to reconstruct the host, though the organism apparently survived and was eventually given a new synthetic control medal and a new host in Valkyria Lisker.
7:05 I always really liked that animation of the head movement. So robotic. You could already tell that Sho wasn't in control before he went into rampage mode. Really, the whole rampage was well animated. This is in my top 3 favorite episodes of the series.

Whose Ace, yea i found it pretty anti climactic when it was silent. I couldnt believe it 1st time i saw UK dub- another reason that pushed me to make these. I couldn't justify showing my friend Guyver for the 1st time when i knew there was a version that was much more appealing (imo)

I can't think of any other reason that one section of the console would explode and nothing else. It just feels so deliberate.
Is it bad that for a minute, I was kind of rooting for Zx-Tole while he was beating the crap out of Agito, especially since the rooting was on Sho’s behalf? I get Agito had a plan for infiltrating the building, but in order for it to work, Sho had to get claws through the chest, his arm bitten, tossed around, run through and pretty much disemboweled by a large, barbed tail (getting it pulled back out looked disturbingly painful), got his control medal which was attached to his brain violently ripped out of his head most likely along with some of his brain by a beast with acid fingers digging around and pulling in his head, eaten alive by his armor and then dissolved by acidic blood. You can’t tell me that Sho being ticked off wasn’t mixed up somewhere in his armor’s defensive state. It was probably trying to take a shot at Agito on general principle for what happened to its user (that’s my head canon and I’m sticking to it, lolololol).
This OVA was my true gateway into Anime. My first non-butchered for localization Anime uncensored in full glory. Sure the English dub is a bit more swear-y, but the voice cast was great and forever solidified in my mind how I hear these characters in my head when I got my hands on the manga. Bio Booster Armor Guyver is a treasure, and I wish more people knew about it.
We do get to see that, to some degree. Sho's father gets turned into Enzyme 2 and gouges out his brain. The Guyver AI then takes over and destroys Enzyme 2.
@@ADreamPC It did come closer to defeating the Guyver, and it had more personality. But it's hard to say. Guyver is a much more violent person than Sho is, but Sho has become a noticable ferice fighter as the show goes on. Still not actually found of violence however.
@@GravArthel Will, they be the LA Hero ones and not the Manga ones? As much as I love the Guyver Rock songs, they (Manga Ent) felt like the voices didn't match to me and weren't too happy they censored episode 12.

That control metal was ripped out and couldn't maintain its integrity. When Enzyme did the same to Sho's control metal, it was the only part of his body that was intact. Since it had bonded to Sho on a genetic level, it would make sense that a Guyver could completely regenerate as long as the control metal endured. It's no longer technology that can be parted from its host. They are one.

Yoshiki Takaya, the author of the manga, supervised the story of the OVA series. Even though it diverges from the manga, all of the ideas came from him. Valkyria the antagonist of the very first OVA, shows up later in the manga series.

They left it on a good note but Guyver 3 and Commander are unaccounted for and it sounded like the other branch was computing battle data from Team 5 and Agito. Only this was 25 years ago. At least lol. Nothing on The Guyver since then? Hard to believe.

But I like how pervert Japan makes it where when she calls out the guyver her clothing burns off when bio morphing to the guyver. Same old Pervy Japanese.

I can't get my head around the different voices and that cheesy music lol the music and voices in the uk version are 💯x better 😁 I wish they would remake guyver and keep the episodes going as far as the comics, it was be awesome to see guyver 3's gigantic form fighting against the zoalords 😁

It's a great old anime, I think it's up there with the Bonfire of Dreams episode of Berserk.

Probably the control medal learned from it’s mistake and gave Guyver I the upgrade it needs.
