India actually celebrates Navy Day on December 5th. This day commemorates the Indian Navy's success in Operation Trident during the Indo-Pakistan War of 1971. On December 4, 1971, the Indian Navy launched a surprise attack on the Pakistani Naval Headquarters in Karachi, sinking three Pakistani ships, including the PNS Khaibar.
