The bees come first in our little venture, as without the bees we would have nothing, so no excess honey is ever removed if Andy thinks it will put the hive at risk, so the honey goes fast!

Thanks. Plenty of no nonsense, no measuring advice. Inherited and bought second hand most of my 40-50 hives, just starting to build more.
Just one note, the vents can be pinned to bits the crownboard rest on if you bend them at a right angle. Bees propolise them over time to stop all air flow and you cannot remove them if they are in the recommended position.
