Excellent job Burkhard. It is a great production! Your performance on marimba and piano are pretty good and the sound and video quality is very good. Thanks for playing my music so well and for making this excellent production.
Lindo trabalho percussivo num instrumento top de bela e delicada sonoridade. A marimba tem sido bastante utilizada no aparato de percussão contemporâneo mas como instrumento solista é raro ouví-la Parabéns Rosauro..
I performed this as part of an orchestra a few months back and I just love this concerto. You've performed it really well! Balancing both parts perfectly. And the quality of the video is really good. Great to see people enjoying creating music!
This is just amazing, I can't wait until I have the equipment to do this myself. This is certainly one of the most awesome golden musical nuggets I've run into while collecting marimba inspiration. The rhythms here are awesome, good song choice. Thanks so much for sharing!!!
Wow, this is awesome! I have always loved this song, I feel like Ney Rosauro's music has such good melodies compared to most marimba solo music. Great job on all aspects!

Would you be able to post just the piano accompaniment? I am trying to prepare for a recital and would love to practice to your wonderful recording. Thanks!
Thank you for your interesting request. I will post you in the next days just the piano accompaniment and I hope, that it is useful for you, because it is the accompanist to my marimba version and everyone has his own style.

I'll be playing this piece, and I've been debating on what mallets I should use for the second movement "Lament." I really enjoyed this video, and any suggestions on mallet choice would be greatly appreciated!

Hello Maestro. Burkhard. My name is Nestor Mercado, and I am planning on playing Mvt. 4 for a concerto competition. For practice purposes I wanted to ask you if you help acquire the piano track to practice with it. Let me know if this possible, thank you.
@@BurkhardRoggenbuck Introduce my name is Gusti from Indonesia I've looked at your video and learned about this song Incidentally, I am currently pursuing a master's degree in percussion in Indonesia. may i interview you for my data requirement and write it in my thesis?? I would like to thank you in advance if you are willing to interview. Hope you read and reply. Thank you.
I used the Robert van Sice mallets M3 for the first movement, M2 for the second movement, M3 and M5 for the third movement and for the last movement M4.
Cleanish, but it is rather flat. The lines need to come out MORE. The phrases internally seem choppy and disconnected, and the chords are not coming through as connected snd with curves. It seems percussively correct in terms of rhythm, but musically, the music comes through as nonexpressive and very notey. What do you think of as you play each section? Is there a story? What is the story in Lament vs Danca? How do you bring back the idea of Lament in the Farewell? I was 18 when I first performed this piece more thsn 30 years ago. I had just studied with Leigh Stevens and Gordon Stout, and played this for them. There is much energy you are wasting in your geip and arm movements if you are using the Steverns Musser grip. You are losing energy because of the lowness of the marimba height and your angle of elbow to marimab which is too high. Raise that marimba! Also, your wrists are way too stiff for rhis grip. The correct technique is to keep the wrist at the keyboard level not above it.
hello, i'm mathijs and i'm 14 y/o. I will record the farewell but I don't know how to start. I can play the marimba and the piano part perfectly but what do you record first? the piano or the marimba part. I think it is easier to record the piano first and then the marimba. In the first movement this works very well, because the piano plays continuously. I wish you much success with the recording!
