Clive, very good painting. Trees are always fun but I tend to not add enough limbs and branches. This one has a calming effect. Thanks!

Thank you for an entertaining video, I was interested in watching how you added the texture to the bark of the tree & the contrasting colours in the leaves & surrounding area which really adds something to the painting. I will definitely try to incorporate this into the paintings that I do as well. I am by no means an artist but I do like painting to relax. Take it easy, cheers. Jan Mots.

Clive, enjoyed this very much. I LOVE painting trees. I may have a dozen or more. I also painted the "Angel Oak Tree" (NC USA), on a 16x20 canvas and it took me aprox. 50 hours to paint. Just a huge tree, and very famous (look it up sometime, you'll see it is HUGE!) Always look forward to Monday evenings watching you, dear man. Keep safe, get the hand feeling better, see you next week!

What is the life expectancy painting on cardboard. I mean as a archival doesnt cardboard have acid and rot fast. Why use it then . Just practice or if knowing the life time limit it just is a experiment and only lasts so long. I have cardboard boxes from items that are years old but it still bothers me telling people it's not going to last as long as other things like canvas or other things.

I understand mark the question is how long do you think your painting will be kept by others the life expectancy of a painting in general is only 10-15 years before it’s put in storage or in a skip by others on that note if correctly sealed it can last many decades however it’s not really known as acrylic has only been around since the 1950s unlike oil which have been around for 100s of years so the truth is no one has the answer yet we just paint and hope they last

@@CLIVE5ART thank you for the reply. Now the question might be. This cardboard. There sure is a lot of it so how might one go about picking up some good cardboard. Right now in my five weeks since i began painting i have been using watercolor paper . This is primed or gesso then maybe a later of titanium white. So far I like it but I need to get some other alternatives. So cardboard could work.
