I love how its theme music slowly ramps up right until the moment it jumps into fight.
It's a shame there's no underwater combat mechanics
I immediately felt uneasy the second I saw that it was suspended over the water and sure enough the second I jumped in and the camera focused on it falling in with me, my Megalo/Thalassaphobia kicked in once in the water… 😰
I just did this cauldron. And the Tideripper glitched out and started flying up in the air. Kinda worked in my favor because at one point it just stood still and then once it was in the air it didn't really attack me. Just 'Swam' around.

Hardest point in the entire game for me. The level battlefield is an issue,and not enough space in-between,crazy.
After taking about 25 herbs, I finally figured it out, finally!!
you cannot turn around and run..big no no. You're an easy target like that. Every time I ran away not facing him,I'd take even more damage. I settled down, used my hunter bow with high tear and just faced him and rolled/dodged an attack,then hit him,dodge attack, then hit him, all while circling him and he went down after like five minutes.
I guess I finally figured out how to play once I figured him out 🤦. I died a lot of times, but no battle was as lopsided as this one,till I found out how to fight him.
I gave up that thing is ridiculous on hard. I have no room to maneuver. Plus, when I died and reloaded, a save. The game didn't load properly, and I was stuck outside the map. I'll come back when a patch comes fixing it.
i had the EXACT same problem. i gave up and walked away for now.
Shoot the tidal disc off his back 1st.Without it he's way easier because he can't do the waterattacks anymore

On hard? You must not be used to hard games. If you are, I'd be surprised. I just beat it on ULTRA HARD, on my new game (i know, a mistake of how ridiculously hard it is, but it is what it is). It was very tight, but I finally made it. I agree the fight is unfair, the room is just plain terrain and the machine can have some ridiculous attacks, but there's no way it is so hard that you gave on on hard difficulty.

On Ultra Hard this unbalamced and broken. One shot kills on Lvl 54 is sad. Makes you not wanna play the game.
I hated this cauldron, I'm afraid of deep water and the tideripper was constantly stun locking me. The attacks are too fast and the stunned animations are too long, Could barely even get a shot in.
And it's reach is insane too. It can cross the entire platform in one move
I started battling it winning and then the sucker ran and hid in the water. He won’t come back on the land even when I swim by him and the icon turns red.
