I STRONGLY AGREE. Herbie is a living car in BeamNG Drive now. I don't think anyone wanted to crash him because of that. The fact that he thought that we wanted him to crash is downright cruel.
@lord betrayus Well calm yourself down Mr. i have to strongly disagree with everyone because i have nothing else to do. I knew it was just a mod I'm not that stupid. It's just the fact that the maker of this mod tried his best to make it act like the real Herbie. I don't think there's anything with not wanting to crash Herbie. Due to the fact that Herbie is a Love Bug and (in the movies) he's alive i wouldn't wanna crash him.

Having seen all the Herbie movies as a child, and yes, even occasionally as a grown up, I can say this mod is absolutely the closest thing to the movie counterpart I've ever seen. The backfiring noise is from the original "The Love Bug" when Jim Douglas is racing him again at Riverside and Herbie is sabotaged after Peter Thorndyke has poured "Irish coffee" into his gas tank multiple times the night before. The bouncing and shaking Herbie has been seen more than once, but most notably when they're preparing to start the second leg of the El Dorado race in the original film. They can barely keep Herbie from plowing into Peter Thorndyke's Thorndyke Special, so eager is he to get back at Thorndyke and win.
I honestly thought this was click bait. I'm glad I was wrong.

All the mod needs now is for herb to have responses to all other cars. For example, seeing a drag car might make him mad, but not in a way that makes him slow. Instead, he'll try to beat out the drag car.

I really wanna watch the old movies again. :) Seeing them in my childhood gave me an appreciation for vehicles and machinery I would have if I had not. I see every car has a soul and can be loved and can feel loved.

Maybe it is because he goes slow and Herbie goes happy when you go fast
If you want to reset his emotions you go to documents/beamngdrive/vehicles/herbie(or whatever the mod is called, it might be bug) and delete the only file in that folder.

one of the reasons you couldn't drift herbie was because he spawns with high-grip tires. if you want to go drifting, you need to use different ones.
