    I haven't had a chance to look this over closely yet but I saw your reddit comment about the snow. I'm not really well versed in mods so I'm not entirely sure what white objects are available. I messed around a couple years back making snow using the ice cream from kidde kingdom and the round white tables with out mods. I also messed around with mods and making comfy pillows static as well.
    My initial guess was you flipped a bunch of ice cream scoops upside down but that obviously won't work for square edges like the roof or small areas like that rock and fish basket. The rock looks a bit like it may be a comfy pillow. Am I close at all? I'm guessing its close to a 1,000 objects in the snow alone.
    Looking forward to digging into this vid closer when I have the time.

      Ahhh mate! Don't talk to me about reddit! Damn that place really confuses the shit out of me sometimes! I posted this there as you know, and guess what..? Not a single person commented on it. And only 18 votes! Yet a pic of a generator above my post gets close to 600 and 50 odd comments! Lol. My mind boggles!
      Same thing with fb really, very poor response. Thank fuck i got you guys in YT, otherwise I could easily convince myself that this was garbage judging by the underwhelming responses elsewhere! 😂😂
      Anyway, ye it's all towles and sheets, pillows etc.. The ground is a mod called simple white. That just changes the drit white basically. But all the surfaces I've had to add myself. I looked at the ice-cream, but it had rust on it and wasn't the right colour, so couldn't use it. Actually even the sheets and stuff I used wasn't exactly the same colour. But as long as it wasn't directly touching the ground you can't really tell.
      The video itself was a lot of work. Trying to convey the passage of time. And i really wanted the viewer to feel the hardship and loneliness of his life in the wasteland. Each day going out to hunt, rain or shine. I'm very proud of how the video turned out. I personally feel like this build is some of my best work. But hey, I guess most people are just more impressed by vehicles and big cities! Lol

      @@Fallout4Guy I don't have a reddit account so I don't post there but I do check it once a week or so. Maybe you ought to try posting a pic of Sturgis hammering a wall with the quote "Sturgis be like....." That should get about a million upvotes or so from what I've seen.
      I'm like you I don't understand the way stuff works on reddit. Martin and Limmy's stuff was the same. Post up some crazy amazing build and almost no response while average or below average stuff gets massive praise. Perhaps your stuff is too involved and peoples brains cannot process how involved it actually is? Like trying to wrap your head around how many grains of sand there is on a beach. Or maybe they're kinda like me and when they look at your stuff they realize it's lightyears ahead of their own skill level and they cannot build it. Maybe that makes it less interesting to them?
      Can't comment on how Facebook is as I don't have an account and never check it.
      I still haven't taken the proper time to look over your vid so I'll probably have more to say soon but from what I've seen so far it does look like some of your best work..... and that's saying a lot.

      @@TheInsaneShecklador haha! This made me laugh! 😂
      I was thinking more of a pic of Nick Valentine! That usually gets some votes. And then to beat that I'm gona start building square shacks out of warehouse walls, with an upper level made from concrete! Take the screenshot with my phone, and make sure I leave the UI on while wearing Power Armor! Man, reddit is about to blow up over this post I tell you!! 😂
      It's funny because, Martin and I have had the conversation about the reddit community many times. They really are a odd bunch of folk. It's like playing screenshot roulette over on that sub. You really never know what the reactions are gona be. I do try and stay humble about my work when I share it, but Geez... It's got fucking snow on my roof on a PS4!! You'd think people would at least ask how!? 🤔
      Looking forward to hearing what you think once you've watched the video tour mate. Always enjoy reading your comments. Hopefully you think i hit the mark with what I was going for in the tour. Its not my usual style. But I really wanted to tell a little story with this. So definitely a challenge for me, because its not something I usually aim to do with my tours. Thanks again, buddy. This made me smile. 😁👍

      @@Fallout4Guy I hear ya. There are channels with under 500 subs that get more views that I do. I do post on Facebook and Discord as well. The bulk of my views actually 86 percent of my viewers aren't even subbed to me. So I totally understand the mind boggling there. I get confused by it all too. I have always enjoyed all of your builds and creations. I have listed you on my featured channels list many times over the years as someone who inspires me as continues to put out good content. Don't worry about the other media platforms, the folks that truly love your builds will always stop by to say so, or at least watch and drop a like. This build was lovely realistic. I can see how much time and effort went into making the build and the video. I hope you do more like this in the future. I hope you are well and happy in your life. Take care!

      @@denster77 Ahhh Denise! I do love it when you stop by. 😊
      Thanks for the kind words as always. And ye, its similar for me. I think like 60% of my viewers aren't subbed! I should probably bang on about it more in my videos. But I don't like doing that really. Awww, I had no idea you had featured me on your channel! 🥰🥰 Thank you so much! I've been subbed to you for years now. But I have to admit, I don't really watch any 76 content. But I do check out your fallout 4 builds when you post them, just not so much tutorials and so on. I only like watch build tours. I'm never really interested in let's builds or tutorials, even though most other people are. I can usually just look at stuff and tell how it's built. Had saying that, I'm fully aware that most people want to see them (I sure get asked to do them enough lol) So I fully get why so many Fallout TH-camrs include them in their content.
      It might be one reason why I don't have that many subs. Not everyone understands what they're looking at when they watch my tours. But meh.. I'm a builders, builder. 😊
      As for sharing on Facebook and other places. Well, that's a mixed bag. What groups do you share in? I wonder if we're in the same groups? Although I think I'd have noticed your work by now. I'm in a few OK ones. But I don't get much traffic from them. About 12% according to YT stats. Reddit can be good, but it's hit and miss most times. It really depends on your screenshot with those guys. Hardly anyone on r/falloutsettlements seems to like videos. I think the only reason I get any traffic from there is because people know my name, and they generally know that I'm gona have something worth clicking the link for.
      It still seems like most of the big channels continue to put out mediocre builds and yet still grow continuously. I can only assume that YT push their content a little more.
      Anyway, thanks for stopping by. It's always a pleasure to hear from you, Denise. 😊 Xx

    This has to be my favourite build of yours so far! This one really speaks to my personal aesthetic... And of all the cool and amazing things you have displayed here in this build, I think that my personal favourite has to be the inverted Ring Stand you have implemented as a rod holder beside the pond. I am always in awe of people who can look at "mundane" items like that and see other potential uses for them. That is one area I am incredibly weak in. Oh and the snow... Mission successful! That is gorgeously immersive snow that really sells the idea of that section being in the bitterest parts of winter. 👍👍👍👍

      The snow is obviously the main chunk of this build though. And because there's no snow mods that exist that can add surface snow to built objects, it was a real challenge coming up with something that looks convincing.

It's funny actually. Until you showed exactly how you had done the snow on the roof my mind was simply seeing the "texture" of tiles under the snow. So even when you brought the camera in quite close I was still convinced it was genuinely snow... Oh and before I forget again, They intricacies of how you made the outside of the main house (boards and such) is totally amazing! Again I was blown away by part one of the BtS, and I am so looking forward to watching part 2 to see how you magicked up the interior. Because to people of my meagre building ability (when compared to yours) see your incredible builds, we feel (well I do anyways) a sense of wonder at what you have created, almost as if by magic when in fact it is nothing but pure hard work and dedication to your craft. Wow! Thanks very much for such an amazing comment! I always try to inject my builds with some character and atmosphere that I feel helps them belong in the fallout universe. It's something I take pride in. I won't necessarily say I'm a "lore friendly" builder. But I'm definitely a realistic builder. With this build In particular, the snow was very important to me. It had to look realistic and authentic. There's no mods for snow on objects and surfaces that I know of. Especially not on PS4. So the challenge was really trying to get the snow to lay correctly on roofs, barrels, rocks, tree trunks... You name it. White towels, pillows and bed sheets are all I really have access to on PS4. So I had to try different methods to see what worked best. The end result though, was very satisfying. I think it looks as good as I could make it, given the restrictions. So so glad you appreciate all the hard work. I give 110% when I work on a build. I won't put stuff out for you guys to watch unless I'm 100% happy with my creation. You should really consider using your work as a portfolio. I normally would consider such a compliment overstatement, but I'm not exaggerating here.
    This is quality clutter and set design in a 3D space. Plenty of level designers have builds they'd have to display and set up for a similar goal, to do environmental story telling for important NPCs or just random locations.
    You had an idea for a space, put in work, and through intimate knowledge of a system realized it. It might not be in Unity, Blender, or Maya but this is that caliber of work.
    Your RV builds have the same quality to them. They're small spaces, but you fill them enough that work extremely well.

    • @Fallout4Guy
      @Fallout4Guy  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wow thank you mate. I appreciate that. A very nice compliment indeed! Actually people often think i work in that industry, but I don't. This is just something I enjoy doing on fallout 4. But, I'm a very creative person in real life I suppose. So it goes with hand in hand, I guess.
      At least with actual level design, the devs wouldn't have to do stupid work arounds for stuff like I do on fallout 4. Like having to make all the surface snow out of white towels and pillows like I did for this build! 😂😂 Damn I hated towles after building this. Why I thought a snow themed build on PS4 would be a good idea, I'll never know! 😂😂

    I will start this by saying that I typically dont like modded builds too much. They rarely ever come with a sense of creativity and technical skill. I also will say that I am particularly picky about which small builds I like since they NEED to be more visually impressive in every way. They can't fall back on a sense of wonder coming from the size and they cant get away with excuses about what the game can handle.
    Now, with that out of the way I have to say... This is perhaps the most impressive build I've seen. If I wanted to nitpick, I would probably need to watch it several more times and EVEN THEN I may not find any complaints. Nice work, and I hope to see more like this.

      Hey, thanks for the great comment John. I know what you mean about modded builds. I'm on PS4, so it's not like I have that much choice when it comes to mods really. So I guess it's a little easier to stay focused on my theme. But, ye I know exactly what you're saying. And agree with you about the smaller builds also. Which I personally prefer doing if I'm honest. Although I have done towns and even a city. Which you can see on my channel if you're interested. Actually if got lots of builds on my channel like this one. I've been building in Fallout 4 for some time now. So I've learned how to get the most from the PS4. Really glad you enjoyed this one. I’ve got nothing on your intricate detail of work you do on a PS4, but I can say one of my proudest, “I did a thing” moments I had well using Sony “mods” was building my own BBQ barn...
    Started out with a barn on some foundations, but then removed those and built walls around the bottom. Built a deck to the main entry where I laid down the long grate flooring on the outer edges and two wood panels in the center for the cook to walk on. Underneath was where the fires were and you could use the door of the barn to crouch in and handle stoking the flames.....
    Edit: now that I think on it, it was something like that I know. I just remember; however I built it, that on the small side entry door I had to crouch under the grill racks to get into the barn to place the fire pits down.
    But the building itself was up on a second story area.

      Sounds pretty interesting. I love building stuff out of things that were intended for completely different purposes. A lot like this build actually. I'm not sure if you noticed, but all the surface snow for example... It's made from hundreds of towels and pillows. To give the snow effects on objects. It's stuff like this that I'm actually glad Sonys restrictions are in place. Because it really forced me to think outside the box alot more. If I were on PC, I don't think I'd ever have looked at objects/assets the way I do now. Because PC has so many mods available, that it's hard to develop that mindset to begin with. So, for me the restrictions of PS4 has really helped to push my creativity more than I every realised was possible. 😊

    Hey sick build as usual! I like how you added more scenery with music and cinematic views. However if I may make a suggestion, I prefer the way you used to walk through the whole settlement. Hey mate. The Behind The Scenes videos have full commentary, and show all the details. If I talk over both videos. I just end up with two long videos, that I'll be pretty much saying the same things in. Plus, the average view time of my videos (according to YT) is 4 mins. So most people just skip through anyway, or probably watch without sound. Lol. At least with the Behind The Scenes version of the tour, if you're interested enough to want to watch that, you'll probably spend the time to listen etc.. But, you can tell by the difference in views how many people are actually interested in it. Look at this tours views, compared to the BTS views of the same build. And it's the same with all the others. The BTS is only a fraction of views on comparison.

      Dude! Sorry for the late reply! Last week was made busy for me! Anyway, I had couldn't find the link to that mod anywhere on bethesda.net . Was very confusing. So I contacted the author, but he works away on some oil rig or something. So he wasn't able to look into it fully. But he did confirm it had been removed for some reason. He's not sure why. But won't be able to fix it until hes back on land.
      I'll check you video out when I get more time. Did have a quick look, but wasn't able to watch it all cuz like I said. It's been a mad week. What I did see looked great though buddy. Will watch the rest soon. 👍

      Hi, ye I'll have to find it for you. Just to be clear though. What do you mean when you say more options? The only thing from Log Cabin mod in this build is the chmiey stack. Only asking, cuz want to make sure that's the mod you want.

      @@garryevans3253 well, the PS4 technically can't have any new textures. Because Sony don't allow external assets. All the mods I used to build this are in the video description. But what you see in this build mods I've just placed the walls and textures are made from me layering many parts, that I've tilted etc..
      The structure itself is made from lots of stuff like wooden planks, plywood, boards and so on. It's hard to explain. You could watch my behind the scenes video for this build and it may help you to see better what I'm talking about. Here's the link for part 1 th-cam.com/video/hET_pvgdO0o/w-d-xo.html

      Do you know, I really can't remember where I built this. I even just went and had a look in the BTS to see if I showed it. And ii obviously didn't for some reason 🙄.
      I feel like it was down near the bottom part of the map, like SW. But I could be wrong. It was so long ago now.

    I'm going to do my best to suppress my urge to throw a fit and call you names. No promises! 😋 I can figure out how ya did most of this. But there's one thing that's got me stumped: the refrigerator filled with snow. I can't figure that out. And I don't wanna know. You never disappoint. You showin' off sumumabitch 😂😂😂 edit: is the dogsled made from the "A-frames"? Like the ones you find in murkwater? Edit 2: I hate you.

    • @Fallout4Guy
      @Fallout4Guy  5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Lol Ben! I always love your comments. The snow in the fridge was done like all the other snow. With pillows and white sheets etc.. Although mainly pillows for the fridge I think. I've just merged them in a bumpy way, rather than flatter like I did on the roof for example. The dog sled is made from single wood planks and posts. Just tilted at various angles. Nothing special really.
      Edit... Love you too mate! 😂👍

      @@loremipsum720 lol thanks mate. Actually this is one of my personal favourite player homes! Although it was an absolute pain in the ass individually tilting all those white towels and pillows to create the snow illusion. Literally hundreds of them!! I think the end result was really worth it! So really glad you enjoyed it too! 😊
      As for the lack of views/subs.... Well lol... I dunno, it is what it is I suppose. To be honest, I've never expected my content to be for everyone. The main problem with my style of building is it takes time and patience. Which doesn't really translate well for tutorials etc.. So that in itself can put people off straight away. If they can't see how to recreate it themselves. They're not really interested. That's Ok though. Because I've never really wanted people to straight up copy my work. It was always more to inspire other builders. To encourage people to think outside the box a bit. Push the limits of what can be achieved on console. Especially PlayStation. That was always my main goal. If I wanted loads of subs, my approach would have to be completely different. But that's just not what I'd enjoy doing. So, ye... Millions of subs would be amazing. But oh well, I'm great full for the ones I have. lol 😂

    • @Fallout4Guy
      @Fallout4Guy  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Haha! Glad you liked it. This is probably my favourite player home I've made.
      The snow on the ground is just a texture mod. It's called simple seasons or something. It will be in the description. But all that does is change the ground colour to white. The snow on all the surfaces, roof, logs, steps etc.. That's all hand made from hundreds and hundreds of white towels, bedsheets, pillows, and even bars of soap for the very small stuff like handrails etc..
      If you look closely you can see it. 😊
