Bro I just blew the engine in mines last year when I lost my job n just drove around homeless.. but now I have a home and almost saved enough to start working on it again. Still going from check to check but this has given me motivation to start on it.

I have a 2012 impala lt would it be hard to put a ss engine in or a Ltz engine in or would it be simple ?
The SS engine will definetly require a decent amount of work, just making it compatable with all the wiring, if your going from v6 to another v6, you should be ok, but from v6 to v8, will require some more work
Its the same engine in the LS, LT, and LTZ. It is the LFX 3.6 liter engine. They all use the same engine. SS same thing. The 2012-2016 didn't have a V8 option.
What engine did you swamp it with that jawn sounds good definitely looking for something like that for my impala
We swapped in another 3.6L V6 similar to what was in it before, the owner of it just has an exhaust for it
I got a 2012 impala ls i wanna swap the engine is it possible to get any v8 engine BUT NOT the 5.3 in the impala ss i would want the 5.7 hemi or any other stronger v8 ive already got an exhaust and tune for my v6 but not much more on the market for me here in cali. If anyone knows anything help me out
Well putting a 5.7 hemi wpuld take a lot of custom work and tricking of the computer but if you want to go all out then i would recommend the 6.2 from gm but the other question is if idk it will fit with still being fwd. So if you are trying to go any bigger it will cost a lot and will probably have to become rwd for it to fit

Hey I’m thinking about doing an engine swap with my 2010 impala LT and putting the LS4 in. Would I need to get a new trans and wiring harness for it?
Most likely because the power you will be pushing with the ls4 and the stock trans wont be able to handle it, and as for wire harness i think so since you will have different compenents espically if you are goijg from v6 to v8

I have a 2013 with now 202,000 miles when I bought it it had 172,000 miles on it but I purchased one with low miles for $340 with 109,000 miles on it how much will it cost for me to pay someone to put the new one in and will the 109,000 miles show up on my dashboard like the 202,000 miles is showing? This my first impala and I know nothing about the engine swap stuff

I have a 2013 with the lfx. Just lost oil pressure and spun bearings and maybe fried rings. Not sure. But anyway I'm just gonna swap another used low mileage one in. Basically I'm asking how bad of a pull is it to get out and another one back in?
It actually wasnt that bad if you have the correct tools, for example with and engine hoist, might require 2-3 peoplebut other than that all it is, is remeber where things go

Awesome I love it. I got 143,000 mi on my 2012 chevy impala. Still runs strong. Fast? Oh yeah. I run 14 seconds 14 seconds in the quarter mile at 101 mph. It's a ton faster then my 2009 impala 3.5L by like 2 seconds in the quarter mile. I'll be honest the 2020 impala with the lfx v6 motor like in mine is even faster.
@NoXeed Official No. I have an aluminum 3.6 vvt DOHC v6 that produces 302 hp and 264 ft lbs of torque at 7,000 rpm. Red lines every shift and get from 0-60 in 6 seconds

Honestly just get an engine from a trust source such as jegs or summit and make sure you go to trusted mechanic to do the swap unless you do it yourself

Well this wasnt our car, we were the ones doing the job. It was around 2k though

If it is the same displacement engine from Chevy from similar years, then it should just plug in
Got a question I got the same year and same car I just replace the engine and I can’t get the car to stay running at all it cranks and start but when it turn over it dies like a second later. Can’t rev it up to keep it running either i replace the ecu and I got 60-70 fuel pressure psi idk what else it can be
There is only so much I can help you with over text, because there a bunch of things it could be but we can only be able to tell if we are there in person

how much did you charge the customer for the swap ? i got the same car and needs engine swapped. i m in cincinnati,oh, r u around ?
It was around $1000 if I remember correctly and I am located in Chicago, IL

Hey I’m looking to do the same thing to my 2012 impala LT. Did you purchase your engine online if so what website? Also what are the engine specs it sounds great
The owner purchased the engine and tranmission from a local junkyard. And i believe it was the same year if not a year or 2 newer. This was a customers car and was a very fun project
@@Hektron_v4 how do I match the engine with the vin. For example if the fit section says 3.6L Vin 3 8th digit, is it saying the number 3 is the eighth digit in the vin
I was unaware that was a thing for those cars, but what I would do is search up the name of the engine in your car then, try and find a newer version of that engine. I did that for my 98 Safari and everything bolted on like a dream and runs way better than before

It is hard to say, depends on how well everything comes apart, we are definetly able to do it, but if you want a number, it would probably be at least $1000

You can but it wont be easy because the engine is from another brand so it will not be plug and play and will require more work and money to work properlly
Can I swap my 2011 e85 impala ls with another engine that can make 1000hp
I mean anything is possible but you’d need a transmission that could handle it
