West always thought mobile gaming market is not worth until they find out it is. They tried to grab some but nobody is willing to play the thing that they don't know.
Yup, I agree. Riot had their chance back in 2014-2015. Instead they refused Tencent's demands. If Riot followed what Tencent wanted, Wild Rift could have been a global hit instead. Imagine being the first mobile MOBA financed by Tencent, one of the biggest multi billion dollar company in the world, developed by Riot, arguably one of the best if not the best MOBA developer. We probably would have had Wild Rift cross platform now (console, PC and Mobile) .
@@DBringerStreams whales are the only reason wild rift is alive. They had to move it to china for desperation. Same thing happened to AoV yet AoV is more popular however both share the same fate
The game isn't completely dead yet, but it's unplayable. The matchmaking system is bad, miserable, and nothing is being done about it. The report system is useless, interesting events don't exist, everything has become a gacha that is meant to squeeze players out of money. Good players have quit the game, the competition has disappeared. It's a shame, because graphics are EXCELLENT, the controls are EXCELLENT, it's superior to any similar game
As so someone who reached d1 in lol pc and GM in wild rift i can confidently say that matchmacking in wild rift is far beyond fucked its designed to carry bad players and bring down good players , basically anyone can get to challenger if they play enough games like 1000 or 1500 games will get even my dog to challenger@@albert8997
@@albert8997 League of Legends Rank System was perfect if you compare it to wildrift and I played Lol since S3. 6 years ago I stopped League. But Wildrift Ranked is cancer
Wild rift gacha is getting more and more rare and you can get almost every skin for 10-15€ in de shop. the pass is always very affordable. Looking back I've spend so much more money on AOV.
The only gripe i had is the loading screen just take way too long. Mlbb took like 8s just to load in which is crazy. Really hoping they fix their loading screen time.
It's not gonna be reduced unless you have a mid range to high end phone, keep in mind that mlbb is for low end phones, so it'll 100% load faster than wr.
@@forfarme idk tho I mean mlbb legit need like 9-10 gb of storage so I mean its kinda big. But I do think mlbb is maybe more optimized bc it came out in 2019. So it had more time than wild rift.
Nope, introducing the game to India is NOT gonna help at all. And Riot didnt missed any opportunity for doing that. What Riot need to do is keep the investment on eSports and game updates (features/skins etc). Remember MLBB start off as a joke too back in South East Asia but Moonton start investing heavily in the eSports (prizepool keep getting better), media, keep updating the game and become popular and the population start taking it seriously as professional. Because of that, they also got the sponsors they needed - which further increase the prize. Their recent mid season cup in Riyadh prizepool is worth USD 3Mil…like 😱!!! Many eSports Org in SEA created started off by having MLBB team competing in the pro league. Their world championship (M series) began just 6 years ago. I think Riot just want to focus on its big PC version. If they really want in Mobile version, im sure they can do it already by now more than Moonton can. Its not a lost chance, Riot can still do it, they just chose not to. Perhaps ego, thinking mobile games could never mount to anything. Well Moonton has so far proved that wrong 😂
Actually, it's the other way around. Moonton focused on esports after MLBB gained so much traction. It's pretty brilliant really. They created opportunities, and they took advantage of every opportunity they had. What made MLBB the game it is today wasn't really the devs, but the people behind the marketing and whoever thought "people will play even if it's a clone or has mediocre graphics as long as they feel rewarded and when the nostalgia hits." 1. First mobile moba that was released outside of China that felt like the traditional 5v5. 2. Very optimized graphics making it playable even on 40 dollar phones 3. One of the first games to utilize social media heavily to promote the game. (Sharing rewards, recruitment rewards, etc) 4. They focused on user friendliness and quality of life updates 5. Catered to both young and older players. Young players were attracted to the ease of use, older players were attracted to its similarities to other MOBAs especially League. Their first ever tournament was 2017, a year after the game has already gained millions of fans worldwide WR on the other hand, announced and started working on their esports scene on the first year of release before even getting traction. Ergo, it's WR that chose to prioritize esports immediately, ML, not so much. ML only did after gaining enough fans. Also, it's not really ego. Why would they recommend having grassroots tourneys if they don't want to have tourneys because of ego. They want to, but doesn't have the budget to do so. To clarify, I am not saying they are poor, they are far from poor. Riot is one of the biggest devs out there, but each game has a budget. League PC has its own budget, Valo has its own budget, RT has its own budget, WR has its own budget etc. Launching and hosting tournaments require so much resources. For instance Worlds. Contrary to popular belief, Riot doesn't do that to earn money. They do that to promote the game and establish worldwide relevance. Riot SPENDS MORE money whenever they do Worlds. Afaik, they have never earned money from Worlds. It was never meant to do so, it was a global scale marketing campaign. If Riot had the budget for WR to have such tourneys, they would. It's unwise not to have one especially for a game marketed in such manner. Not to mention that they "promised" it on release. The fact that they can't push through with their promises means there's either something wrong or they are not gaining enough success financially to cover the costs of marketing (esports)
Riot blew it. The slow release of the game which is still unavailable to other countries coupled with a false promise that they will launch this on a console killed it.
Problems with Wild Rift:- 1)Their enmosity with MLBB which offended most of the hardcore MLBB fans especially in SEA region. 2) They were too late to the mobile MOBA market. 3) Slow paced game on mobile device 4) Copy pasting LOL pc on mobile 5) Not enough marketing after the initial few ads 6) Not launching the game in India....since MLBB was banned back then Wild Rift could have easily taken the whole Indian MOBA community
for sure the game is dying i can admit that, but what makes me come back to this game instead of AOV or MLBB is the game experience, ignoring the matchmaking and lobby conundrum, I would say Wild Rift has far superior gameplay experience
@@DBringerStreams I heard AkosiDogie is the current ambassador of wildrift which is one of the first youtubers that popularized mlbb especially in the Philippines. He was sharing his plan to slowly popularized the game with known content creators. One of the mlbb's earliest strat way back then around 2017-2018 to popularize the game was letting the public host mlbb tournaments on its own and moonton having their own official small community tournament events on some city locations as a way to expose the game into public before actually hosting official Big tournaments. According to dogie, wildrift should allow players to trashtalk in tournaments to spice things up so it can generate more hype as long as it is not below the belt and let the community grow and not rushing things immedeatly. Also one of the early mistakes of wildrift back then is choosing actors that are not really gamers to promote the game rather focusing on the content creators to expose their game to the public.
The thing is that India being the Largest country and one of the biggest if not the Biggest mobile gaming market, yet it was never released in India which is a shame!
One of the problems is they putting so much unnecessary add on. Causing prolonged the game and end up your phone cannot withstand the game due to battery consuming.
Totally agree. I'd played MLBB since 2018 But when I switched to WR, it's on another level. I love the WARD thing, Laning phase, recall to buy item espaically the RUNE. The Lore also one of the reason to keep me playing
@@ZidaneKianoTheir marketing isn't bad, but maintaining their playerbase is questionable, they should be prioritizing optimisation for the game for more people able to play the game imo
Wild rift was league experience in phone. The problem was why would anyone want to have league experience on phone? That slow paced game is more suited to sitting on your chair and turning on your pc.
It feels like a confused game. If I want a fast paced game, I'd play ML, if I want a more genuine MOBA experience with a slower pace, League (PC) or Dota. Not sure why Riot didn't get the assignment. All successful mobile MOBAs have one thing in common, tremendously fast pacing. Others just fell off because they got overwhelmed by ML's rapid fire release of content and chaotic patch updates. (yes, chaotic patch changes has a silver lining. It keeps things fresh all the time) But before they fell off, a lot of them were very successful. Extraordinary Ones, Onmyoji Arena, Ace, Heroes Evolved, etc. All of them were at one point, very successful and achieved in less than 2 years, what Wild Rift has achieved in 4.
Yes, Wild Rift has a faster pace than the PC counterparts, but it's not faster than the other Mobile MOBAs. Other mobile MOBAs have a playtime that ranges from 10 to 15 mins (sometimes shorter). Longer games are 20 mins, but that's pretty rare. Maybe 3 out of 10 games. In Wild Rift, fast games are usually 15 mins, average games are 20, then long games are 25 mins or more. It's just a 3 to 5 min difference, but that adds up over a string of games. Especially in a market where more players need something playable on the go. Playing while waiting for the bus, having their 15-min breaks, playing before their lunch break ends, etc. Even other non-MOBA games are faster paced than WR. 15 to 20 min battle ground games now exist. There are even 10 minute game modes. Wild Rift has the same pace as VainGlory. Both are amazing games, both are very polished, but both have significantly slower pacing than the traditional mobile game. They both feel more like console or casual PC games than mobile games. Also, if you think I never experienced playing WR, I did. In fact, my first video on the channel was about Wild Rift. I played it during the closed testing phase, until mid 2022. I still have it on my phone and occasionally, but very rarely play it. I've also played dozens of MOBA games since the early 2000's on PC and Mobile. I've tried them all, even the less known mods like Naruto Wars and Character Fight.
Remember those days when League players said Wildrift will kill and end MLBB? Good old days lmao. Seriously, I genuinely love the League's lore than MLBB and when they announced Wildrift, I was so hyped because I wanna play it and I didn't have a pc to play League. As it turns out, MLBB's gameplay is far more fast paced and digestible mechanics for a casual player like me. I ended up quitting because why learn a new MOBA when you already have an account from another MOBA which you invested in with skins and heroes.
What really made me return to ML everytime is the constant meta changes. Some people hate it, but that's what I liked in the game. Changing up the mechanics, map, hero revamps etc. Idk, it just makes the game feel fresh. Like old heroes feeling like new ones, or giving items new effects make me think of other strats and ways to enjoy the game.
Perhaps you just lack the attention span, come on now with a match averaging of 20 minutes is not slow paced at all when you compare it to the PC variant
Not sure why. Maybe budget? I just don't see why not. India is a very profitable market. Though I am not too confident with the idea that people will make the switch. ML, despite not having an official store in India, has already captured a huge chunk of their moba gaming community. This group might be able to help you. Please note I am not affiliated with them. I just found them online facebook.com/groups/WildRiftIndia/?ref=share&mibextid=NSMWBT
@@DBringerStreamswhen wild rift was released globally....at that time india china tensions were on their peak and india was banning many Chinese applications and games including pubgm and mlbb. Riot didn't wanna release the game at that time cause once the game is banned then you have to change a lot of things in your game to bring it back into the market. Riot stayed away until everything cools down between the two nations but eventually forgot about launching it in India. Tbh great move cause wild rift wouldn't have survived in India cause most indians don't understand moba and the small chunk of moba players will stick to mlbb. But riot should focus on launching valo mobile as it's an fps games which indians like while the pc valorant is pretty popular in India too.
WR's first year could have been better if the developers were able to cater the community's concerns. They are very slow on bringing patches every now and then. What they really wanted is just for the LOL pc version to be played in a mobile device. They wanted to rival MLBB but forgot the foothold they are stepping on.
Wild Rift died because Riot ignored fans' complaints and never fixed major issues: balancing, matchmaking, punishment for griefers, etc. MLBB already existed for casuals. All Riot had to do was offer a mobile moba for players who wanted a competitive experience. Riot didn't. They catered Wild Rift to the lowest common denominator who didn't care about taking the game seriously and turned off serious players. Reports did nothing. Games were filled with kids who didn't even try to play the game properly or bots. Wild Rift quickly became just another MLBB experience, influencing players to return to MLBB since Wild Rift offered no upside. At least MLBB games are faster paced and a game they had more time and money invested. Wild Rift failed because of Riot.
Simple, they don't want to waste money. As long as there is some players out there throwing their money to buy expensive limited gacha skins, the game is very much alive. See, the thing is, you use the players pov instead of the company pov.
From what I know, League games are just too slow paced to be picked up on the phone. Slow updates and admittedly straightforward balancing also makes it just less thrilling, as you're getting a lot of the same experience. But what do I know? I've got nothing against 200 collective years of experience in professional game design...
I think that's what he's saying. WR is faster than League PC, but it is significantly slower than most other Mobile MOBAs. WR reminded me of VG. 5v5 VG had almost the same pacing as WR. VG felt like a pocket League when it came to game play, but had a dota skin (map layout resembled old dota 1 map, some items, etc)
Every single skin released in mlbb is gacha bro. Even my friend who plays this game since release complains about how he cant keep up with gacha even after paying a lot for it
Hey which website gives you access to the monthly player data at 1:41? Have always wanted to look at what the most popular mobile games were based on players per month
Popular or not i really love this game i hope they keep up with good events I've been tired of MLbb i gave Wild drift a go and i do not regret it i was able to reach emerald 2 with Graves,Jarvan,Miss Fortune i hope this game will grow
For me the only problem ia riot is not pushing wild rift advertisement hard enough i mean look at mlbb and hok they have a lot and great advertisement either on TH-cam or anywhere else
@@mrchiccolatteyeah in china, it would have been better if the SEA server merges with the china server. Maybe then I can finally reunite with my long lost Chinese friend 😢
Especially if Jump Assemble (Shonen Jump MOBA in Mobile) truly release this February 25, 2025 the most awaited MOBA game of all time, the League of Legends: Wild Rift makes totally going down.
They suckd at balancing, the game was too hard for mobile players in general, even when they made it easier it's still hard for normal players. Lot of game breaking issues like matchmaking like where you could climb by feeding. Bad marketing, false promises not releasing fast enough. A 12 yr old can play mllb but very low chance they would play wr even at 18. I tried to add my friends they just can't do the learning curve.
@@LSTH-v1bthats what I like about ml it is easy to understand. And what I hate in wr you have too much to learn before actually playing good in a game
Why would I want to play on a 4" screen? Wild Rift should have been made for Pc and consoles. Adding wasd or controller movement as well, making it accessible to every platform. Just piss poor execution on Riots part.
The point of WR is to take advantage of the economy on the mobile platform. So excluding the mobile platform was not an option. In fact, it was the goal. The goal was never "because Riot wants to give back to more fans.", the real goal was to join the revenue flow on the mobile platform. Did you know the company with the highest revenue from gaming is a mobile game developer? Nintendo, Sony, or any major game studio/developer/publisher can't even come close. The problem is they came in too late. If Riot listened to Tencent 12 years ago and made Wild Rift back then, Riot would have been the mobile moba pioneer. Not King's Glory, not MLBB. (I wanna say VainGlory but it's dead). MLBB probably wouldn't be in existence if only Riot created WR sooner. As for the smaller screen, some people prefer it to META the game. Back when I was taking Dota seriously, I only played on 16 to 20 inch screens whenever we were raiding internet cafes. I tried to avoid bigger screens if I could. I considered bigger screens a handicap. Smaller screens meant everything is within your field of vision giving you 5 to 10 frames of advantage. Playing on 30+ inch screens was a handicap. The same goes with mobile MOBAs. It's also why pros play on smart phones instead of tablets. Sure it doesn't look as remarkable because of the smaller screen, but a smaller screen meant you can react faster and have better macro. The only time bigger is better is when you are playing games where your purpose of playing is to enjoy the visuals or if you want a more cinematic feel. Games such as Fallout, Cyberpunk, etc.
Wildrift just banned all those players who downloaded from other platforms .This also led to a lot of players quiting. And mlbb is back in India so Indians are back to mlbb.
Idk man my pov i love ward on map to keep myseft secure while farming or supp my adc, i love 3 dragon effect, game shorter now, i spend on skin epic but effect was God-Tier lvl, even basic skin Mundo got different when hitting tower using his head (Just Crazy man), map mechanical like puzzle easy to juke or escape doesn't like ML feel like football field...
im in endgame at genshin impact so I decide to play again wildrift after 1 year of not playing it. The UI is great, graphics, frame rate, and the baron dinobots is new to me But from time to time there's still some trolls around and I bet they do it bcoz the report system is still weak.i. currently in emerald now after a week of grinding from gold 3 I'm sad too for my favourite item rapid fire cannon is gone grrrr
Yeah I believe riot games isn't taking the mobile scene seriously they think mobile gaming is a joke The game isn't even available in my region even though they claim to have released the game globally
As a former MLBB player WR is better. I kinda hate how MLBB ruin the rune system. I just hope that it will have a better game play experience in low end phones
Objectively, WR is definitely a better game. Heck, VG is a better game than both those 2, but VG is gone. When it comes to mobile games, especially free to play mobile games, optimization is more important than depth and graphics. In case you are unfamiliar with VainGlory, do check it out. I used to play that game and I haven't seen a MOBA game better than it. Only issue is, it can't be played on lower end phones. You need at least an iPhone 5 or better (back then iPhone 5 was expensive). 3v3 games took around 15 mins, while 5v5 games took around 20 to 30 mins. It was truly ahead of its time, its developers were former Dota and League devs.
@DBringerStreams VG is a great game. I'm quite familiar with it and it is my first moba. Unfortunately it was gone and to be honest it has great potential than most of the mobas today. I miss my Ringo and Celeste there🥲
Imagine a moba where you have to recall every time to buy items, even dota isn't this dull. And the recall takes 8 sec. No wonder mlbb has won. Mlbb is like HotS, but also released first, a perfect combo. - Adûnâi
@DBringerStreams Yeah, such a conundrum, considering so many people think HotS failed because of its systems. Meanwhile, ML is literally unkillable with the same design philosophy. Only goes to show that the timing and logistics of the game seems more important, provided the game is baseline solid. - Adûnâi
Yeah, I like HotS, but I think it has something to do with the platform. More players on PC demand deeper mechanics, on mobile however, more players prefer more casual games due to a lot of factors such as device compatibility, storage, ram, lower GPU, battery, etc. Not to mention that mobile games are a lot of times, played on the go. I think that's also why VainGlory, a mobile MOBA I consider to be the best and still is despite being dead, failed to capture the market. It was good, too good. So good you won't enjoy it on a potato mobile device. You would need at least an iPhone 5 (one of the best mobile devices back then) to enjoy it. I used to have a midrange (but potato) LG phone which had a hard time keeping up. It boasted 3500 mah (that's a lot during those times. Most phones only had 2,000 to 2,500 mah back then) of battery but spent 20% of my battery in one game because of how good the graphics was. I think Riot learned from VG's mistakes and prioritized optimization, the problem is, they kept trying to keep it better than what it should be. I mean, look at the graphics, even League PC doesn't have better graphics than WR. It's beautiful!
@@DBringerStreams Yeah, I've tried HoK and WR and both have both great graphics and optimisation. Although in HoK I only found bots after 6 games, haven't played WR yet. I wouldn't call depth necessarily a good thing - see Dota2 which never managed to get more than 10% of LoL's playerbase. And then, HotS had a perfectly fine proscene, just like MLBB does. (And on another note - WR hero models are rather not beautiful, if you know what I mean). - Adûnâi
Im still kinda confused on why people didnt choose this moba. For me personally, my reason was that i dont wanna learn a whole new system when i already played ml for over 3 years and have gotten good at it, and thought other think the same. But as it turns out HOK come out and took alot out of ml player, so i guess that's not really the reason for others?
It's the pace. It's also not as optimized. Also, the time it went in. It's too late. People were already accustomed to the pacing of other mobile mobas. WR is the only mobile moba that did it backwards, VainGlory did it first, a mobile moba that feels authentic, peak graphics, slower but richer pace. But the thing is, this is the mobile platform. The market is not the same as console and PC. Most people here don't care about the graphics, most people don't care about whether it feels competitive or not. They just want to play. While everyone was going with the casual mobile platform pacing, WR was doing the opposite. It is definitely faster paced than its PC counterpart, but still not the same as your average mobile game. The existence of Candy Crush and its success says a lot about how you can sell a mobile game. Keep it short, simple, give a lot of rewards. It's the formula for a dopamine inducing game. Sure it's not for everyone, I myself think WR is superior in every way as a game, but scientifically speaking, mobile games use a different formula. It's not about graphics, deeper gameplay, it's not that. If people want that, they'd play on PC or console. Most mobile phone players are casuals.
Riot does not understand the mobile market especially in SEA. On the other hand, MLBB is an expert. I am really expecting years of stagnation until they decide to invest more to promot the game and restructure its esport scene.
The devs have giving up on the game, why would they player put any time on it, My experience with the game The more updates it got the higher my ping got In no dreams it will reach mlbb
Higher ping is a sign that they have fewer servers. Few server to player ratio. I wouldn't be surprised, I mean, Riot never wanted to create a mobile League.
@@DBringerStreams it's there loss honestly the mobile players are 5 time more than PC players It's just more accessible and yet they don't want to invest in it
Yup, that's true. I mean, Tencent had to beg them to create a mobile League back in (I think) 2012 or 2013. Instead, they responded with "League's mechanics is not ideal for the mobile platform", and then surprise surprise, a year or 2 later, Tencent came up with King's Glory (HoK CN) which became and still is the most played mobile MOBA. Last time I checked, they had more than 100m monthly players, and that's not even including the regional versions and variants such as AoV and HoK.
Here's the thing Moba games have a huge market in Asia mainly south-east asia and the huge mistake riot made was not releasing the game here. The copy cat ML won this one guys and the Devs of wildrift messed it up.
Wild rift is still not officially been released in India. The pre-registration page is still open and there are no signs of official launch. I feel they lost the biggest opportunity they had because mlbb was officially banned in India in 2020 (the servers are still on but it's been removed from the playstore and appstore) they should have used this opportunity to launch the game in India during that time cause India being the biggest mobile gamers population and the only moba game they had was banned. Yes wildrift is dead because of they're lack of strategy and efforts.
Because the game League of Legends: Wild Rift so very sensitive and not so Fast paced, if League of Legends: Wild Rift make it fast paced same in Mobile Legends: Bang bang can buy items outside of fountain or on the base and not sensitive LOL:Wild Rift makes the best.
It's not that it's too hard to play, I think it has something to do with the pacing, accessibility, and mobile phone optimization. It's the same problem VainGlory had. It's an amazing game, (but it's too amazing) the resources needed to play one game is significantly greater than ML, HoK, and other mobile MOBAS. Unless you play on low or mid settings, you'll probably be only playing 4 games at most before your phone reaches 0 batt with WR. With most other mobas, you can play on max settings and still complete 6 or more games. Some people consider the definition of fun as being able to play more games instead of longer games. Another thing is other mobile MOBAS favor more players including those at work because of the fast pace. You can't play WR if you're only taking one of your quick breaks from work, but other mobile MOBAS, you can.
Actually, it's HoK mechanics. MLBB is more a copy of HoK than League. HoK CN I mean. HoK CN was released around 2015 and its fast paced gameplay is very similar to MLBB. That's why when people said it's a League clone, I can't help but smirk because it was more of a HoK clone than it was League. Even when it came to the fast paced gameplay, that wasn't MLBB's original idea, that was HoK's. I wouldn't call it brainwashing though, because that's how it really should be. It was designed for the mobile platform, not PC, and not console. I say it was perfect for mobile.
I've both played Mobile Legends and Wild Rift. I can say that Wild Rift is better in terms of mechanics, graphics and gameplay and I don't mind a slower pace of a mobile moba. To answer the question: "Is Wild Rift dead?". The answer is no. It is far from being dead though as Dbringer said it also didn't feel so much alive. The gatekeeping is rare in-game and I've played with so many players who also played Mobile Legends. When it comes to free skins, you just play a lot during the events to collecr in-game currency to exchange for chest or for gemstones. I already have 3 legendary skins without even spending money. The problem I see is there is no global chat that it feels like the game is dead. But the thing is there is only one thing that makes some players quit the game for some time. The matchmaking. I'm not going to lie about it. It is awful and frustrating because the game forces you to have an average of 50% winrate. So there are times that when you play well, the next matxh you will be given teammates that are not in the same elo as you. I'm not talking about the rank but I'm talking about the level of thinking of players. That's why there are players that are in a rank that they are not supposed to be in. But still I keep playing the game because I like it. Oh, I just remember about a mechanic in game that prevents the game to end faster. The Nexus shield. When the 3rd turret is destroyed within 14 minutes the Nexus will have a shield of 50% of its max hp. So there are times that the game could have been ended faster before 14 minutes but because of that shield, it prevents you to end the game because the enemies have already ressurected to defend their base. Well, I hope Riot do somethinf really good to further improve the game because it's such a waste if it won't be popular like the main game. At the end of the day, just play the game that you enjoy the most.
Why this game is a fail? Released WAY TOO LATE where MLBB has already made a huge popularity for YEARS Slow paced Way too competitive for some who just wants to play a moba game that just got off work, Nobody wants to just trash the things that they have invested from earlier mobas (knowledge, moneywise, skins, progress) They forgot that, in the end, its still a mobile game, the focused too much on competetiveness tham the casual side of the game, I even remember that time i persued my friends so that we get to play the game together, but ended up switching on a much faster paced side of mlbb, they said they felt WR too mentally exhausting after 1 to 2 games of it, considerimg how things goes(cs ing, laning, proper trading, objectives compared to mlbb that has onky 3 known objectives which are just, turtle lord, and destroying the base, WR has 4 elemental dragons, Herald, baron, many more) rn I reckon im the only person playing WR in my area.
I hope Riot stops supporting this game so that they can put their focus back on PC league, the skins are so lacking and they're being lazy by releasing 250-500 dollar skins lmao but WR gets actually good looking exclusives with less than 10 times the player base, along with updated animations and visuals? Goofy.
HQ game and growing with fans at that. Shows like arcane are a constant reminder to how much better the game is to its competitors. Ignore all the haters out there.
I think the problem is they came too late. And most players are casual players and like less strat. ML is too popular and WR gets negative media such as this.
I left lolwr because the ping was not good even though my net is good and to try a hero you have to play like 30 to 40 min So i think the mlbb is fast paced game so i can try more hero
@@CosmicOwlChild King of Fighters moba? Didn't that die like 10 years ago? If I recall correctly, it was launched on beta around 2010 or 2011, 2 years after League. Are they going to revive that game?
This is funny my friend telling me this game is superior to the original League of Legends YET PC is far superior than mobile gaming when it comes to League
Hmm I play wild rift a month ago, it's a bit easier than in PC because the map is Smaller and More entertaining, i think Valve Will do the same thing they make mobile version of Dota 2 but it's smaller but I don't it's gonna happen.
I used to play it. This is based on stats and reports, only 4 to 10% of the video is based on my opinion, the rest are factual. Some articles are released by Riot themselves.
Devs need to understand that in mobile moba less play time is best. Its just like shot videos you get sucked in the more you watch. Wild rift trying get that pc experience on mobile is laughable.
While I'm not saying it's dead, but having a high rating doesn't mean anything. VainGlory was the mobile moba with the highest rating at 4.7 stars for a very long time, was also the Editor's choice, and was considered the best MOBA of its time by critiques. Very positive ratings across the board. As far as I know, it's also the original mobile moba and the most unique yet very familiar mechanics. A game is alive based on player count. A game could be objectively successful, but a financial failure at the same time. And not just games, anything. Movies, TV shows, music, etc. something can be golden quality wise, something can have very high ratings, but poor financial success. Or in WR's case, not really poor, but more of underwhelming. It's performing way below what it should be.
What are you talking about you compare wild rift with other moba games? Better graphics than ML you want to talk about abilities? ML ultie every 20 seconds😂😂 100hp is mlk you kill 4 people easy.Wild rift is more difficult than ml for me wilt rift i better by far and notice that ml is more time on play store amd app store its very early to say is dead
Nobody said WR isn't better. I honestly think it's the best mobile MOBA right now (since VainGlory is dead). But this isn't about which game is better, the stats ain't lying, if you watched, you'd see that I put reputable sources including Riot's own articles. Objectively, WR is miles better than ML. But this video isn't about which game is better, it's about which game is currently selling better. The criticisms you gave ML is what actually made it a successful game, it's a mobile game, it's meant to be that way. If I want to play a full MOBA experience, I'd play League on PC, I don't play mobile games for authentic MOBA experience, I just want to kill, clash a lot, that's it. Same goes with most people playing mobile games, nobody here wants to take the game seriously same way they take PC games seriously. If I want to play more competitively, I'd go on my PC. If I just want to relax or take a quick break, I take out my phone. That's it. WR is a better game for sure, I don't think that's an opinion, that's a fact, but it sure as hell ain't selling as good. Especially since it's a game from Riot, you'd expect much more from them. They have far more experience than Moonton. They've made new games strike a hit within 2 years of launching but that's not the case for WR. It's been what, 3 or 4 years but we're still in the 1st year phase. Looks to me that Riot themselves do not support the game as much as they do their other games. That's the other thing. I mean, I'm not surprised, considering Tencent asked them to make a mobile MOBA waaay before ML but they refused. They hated the idea.
okay im gonna say something that is hard to swallow with some of prideful lol fans/wr fans... GATEKEEPING THE GAME, some mlbb player want to switch or even to try but those prideful players gatekeeps the game too much
I think you only looked at the thumbnail. This isn't an opinion based video. Stats, and articles from reputable sources were used, including Riot's own articles.
Downhill for sure, but could take many years. They're still at 60 to 70 mill monthly users. For a mobile game, that's huge. Before they drop their performance to levels of Wild Rift, it could take 5 or more years from now. From 2020 to 2024, MLBB has not dropped their player count. They actually gained 5 million, as oppose to WR which has been stuck in 15 mill monthly users since 2022
@@brutalwarjamI think next year the Indonesian MLBB fanbase will lose interest if they get bad results again from their team representatives in M6 later 😅
@@baihe09 I think that's irrelevant. Why would you count the worldwide stats of WR but dismiss the rest of HoK's stats and only count the more recent Global release? That's a biased argument. Depends on how you define "know". Mainstream wise, yeah, maybe. More people know WR and it's characters, whether by name, or by recognition because of how much Riot markets the League of Legends franchise, from products, clothes, to other forms of media like Netflix. But as far as player count is concerned? Idk about that, HoK has more players on a global scale than WR. It's not even a competition. When it comes to Mobile MOBA, HoK is the most played. I might be wrong on this one, but as far as mobile games in general, regardless of genre, I think HoK is the most played globally. They have around 100 million active users daily, with roughly 700 million monthly users. Even MLBB's 60 million monthly users seem so little when compared to HoK. Not sure if you are an American, or a heavily westernized foreigner outside of the US, but it seems you are blinded by the "USA = The World" lenses. Being unpopular in the US doesn't make something unpopular globally. What's popular in the US (or the country you are living in) doesn't automatically mean it's popular elsewhere either.
@@henqjuhh it was fun, just way too much (equipment complicated ). I didn't want to read a book on 1 equipment item. They unnecessarily complicated equipment. I played alot different mobas . This was only one had this issue.
In this video, we'll explore the current state of League of Legends: Wild Rift. We'll discuss player numbers, recent updates, and community sentiment to determine if the game is truly fading away or if it's still a vibrant part of the mobile gaming scene.

What made MLBB the game it is today wasn't really the devs, but the people behind the marketing and whoever thought "people will play even if it's a clone or has mediocre graphics as long as they feel rewarded and when the nostalgia hits."
1. First mobile moba that was released outside of China that felt like the traditional 5v5.
2. Very optimized graphics making it playable even on 40 dollar phones
3. One of the first games to utilize social media heavily to promote the game. (Sharing rewards, recruitment rewards, etc)
4. They focused on user friendliness and quality of life updates
5. Catered to both young and older players. Young players were attracted to the ease of use, older players were attracted to its similarities to other MOBAs especially League.
Their first ever tournament was 2017, a year after the game has already gained millions of fans worldwide
WR on the other hand, announced and started working on their esports scene on the first year of release before even getting traction.
Unfortunately, LOL WR here in PH is dead.. sad but true.
I wouldn't call it dead, but it definitely doesn't feel alive.
I heard doggy is trying to bring it back ?
@@DBringerStreams "not dead, but it doesn't feel alive" >> bro... u drunk or what

Riot blew it. The slow release of the game which is still unavailable to other countries coupled with a false promise that they will launch this on a console killed it.
Problems with Wild Rift:-
1)Their enmosity with MLBB which offended most of the hardcore MLBB fans especially in SEA region.
2) They were too late to the mobile MOBA market.
3) Slow paced game on mobile device
4) Copy pasting LOL pc on mobile
5) Not enough marketing after the initial few ads
6) Not launching the game in India....since MLBB was banned back then Wild Rift could have easily taken the whole Indian MOBA community
I agree, especially number 6. That was such a missed opportunity.
their player itself kills the game they kept gatekeeping the newbies for being noobs lol.
for sure the game is dying i can admit that, but what makes me come back to this game instead of AOV or MLBB is the game experience, ignoring the matchmaking and lobby conundrum, I would say Wild Rift has far superior gameplay experience
#1 is the top reason why WR did not become a popular MOBA in Philippines. WR toxic community gatekeep their own game.

Wildrift has faster pace compared to pc and have smaller map. Pls experience it first before sharing your opinion
@@yoursTroller but it is much smaller compared to other phone MOBA.....
@@yoursTroller go play other MOBAs on phone before sharing your shallow opinion.

The reason wild rift is so unpopular because it never got released globally , for example its not yet released in india
They're just working on keeping players stressed and frustrated with a poor matchmaking and punishment system
League of legends wild rift didn't release in india and other parts of the world it's still in pre registration
From what I know, League games are just too slow paced to be picked up on the phone. Slow updates and admittedly straightforward balancing also makes it just less thrilling, as you're getting a lot of the same experience.
But what do I know? I've got nothing against 200 collective years of experience in professional game design...
Sorry to say but you still don't know. Wild rift has faster pace and snowball compared to pc, but slower compared to mlbb and comparable to hok.

A 12 yr old can play mllb but very low chance they would play wr even at 18. I tried to add my friends they just can't do the learning curve.

Wild rift is a bit more complicated than mlbb and this in a way is daunting to new players
They focus on skin sales before releasing the game world wide. It's like a seller trying to make money before having enough customers
Yeah
I believe riot games isn't taking the mobile scene seriously they think mobile gaming is a joke
The game isn't even available in my region even though they claim to have released the game globally
I miss my Ringo and Celeste there🥲
the formula to a successful business is the willingness to dish out money to attract more money.
Short answer: Yes
Long answer: YESSSSSSSS
Only everywhere except China
Imagine a moba where you have to recall every time to buy items, even dota isn't this dull. And the recall takes 8 sec. No wonder mlbb has won. Mlbb is like HotS, but also released first, a perfect combo.
- Adûnâi
I've been telling people that since ML was released, it really feels like HotS. Unfortunately, none of the people I know played HotS. Hahaha
When ranked is this bad ... no need to talk about esport competition
You know what would help wild drift if they release it on consoles like they originally was going to
The devs have giving up on the game, why would they player put any time on it,
My experience with the game
The more updates it got the higher my ping got
In no dreams it will reach mlbb
Higher ping is a sign that they have fewer servers. Few server to player ratio. I wouldn't be surprised, I mean, Riot never wanted to create a mobile League.
@@DBringerStreams it's there loss honestly the mobile players are 5 time more than PC players
It's just more accessible and yet they don't want to invest in it
Yup, that's true.
Its not dead atleast on asia server,i found a match within 10 seconds top lane at master 3,arcane also boosting wild rift playercount
Best moba on andriod. Even more so than hok or mlbb but apparently, it's too hard to play according to many people : /
It's not that it's too hard to play, I think it has something to do with the pacing, accessibility, and mobile phone optimization.
FR, they're brainwashed by mlbb mechanics that's why
MLBB is better coz it's the only moba that is available in our region without facing lag like hok,aob and other mobas
As long as they focus on player, not e sport player, I'm quite happy about the game
Released WAY TOO LATE where MLBB has already made a huge popularity for YEARS
Slow paced
Way too competitive for some who just wants to play a moba game that just got off work,
Nobody wants to just trash the things that they have invested from earlier mobas (knowledge, moneywise, skins, progress)
They forgot that, in the end, its still a mobile game, the focused too much on competetiveness tham the casual side of the game, I even remember that time i persued my friends so that we get to play the game together, but ended up switching on a much faster paced side of mlbb, they said they felt WR too mentally exhausting after 1 to 2 games of it, considerimg how things goes(cs ing, laning, proper trading, objectives compared to mlbb that has onky 3 known objectives which are just, turtle lord, and destroying the base, WR has 4 elemental dragons, Herald, baron, many more) rn I reckon im the only person playing WR in my area.
this game has yet to be released in nepal kinda sad because i reallly wanted to play it and going to other servers lagged like hell so i deleted it
I hope Riot stops supporting this game so that they can put their focus back on PC league, the skins are so lacking and they're being lazy by releasing 250-500 dollar skins lmao but WR gets actually good looking exclusives with less than 10 times the player base, along with updated animations and visuals? Goofy.
HQ game and growing with fans at that. Shows like arcane are a constant reminder to how much better the game is to its competitors. Ignore all the haters out there.
Wildrift is dying because of ML and HOK
Those games are more popular than Wildrift lol
WR has some pre poor balence issues 😕 and arcane buffs and map hackers are very rampent
I think the problem is they came too late. And most players are casual players and like less strat. ML is too popular and WR gets negative media such as this.
Vainglory came first though
Why is lol wild rift this game not available in south asia are wating for year this big reason game close dying
I left lolwr because the ping was not good even though my net is good and to try a hero you have to play like 30 to 40 min
So i think the mlbb is fast paced game so i can try more hero
Lets talk about the fact the game is 9gb to download
I don't think will dead, wr keep getting new player.
HOK good promotion when they release until now but still can't beat WR.
Now KoF is in the scene lol
@@CosmicOwlChild King of Fighters moba? Didn't that die like 10 years ago? If I recall correctly, it was launched on beta around 2010 or 2011, 2 years after League.
Are they going to revive that game?
Open this video
Mobile legends ads started playing
No wonder this game is dead
This is funny my friend telling me this game is superior to the original League of Legends YET PC is far superior than mobile gaming when it comes to League
i quit on wr lol, it's just a mobile version of lol which sucks, i'd rather stick to pc and mlbb is a better mobile moba game
their WR Supremacy community is the main reason why WR dead 😅
Hmm I play wild rift a month ago, it's a bit easier than in PC because the map is Smaller and More entertaining, i think Valve Will do the same thing they make mobile version of Dota 2 but it's smaller but I don't it's gonna happen.
It better not i just got it and im having fun with Warwick
Dude.. this was bad 😅
Are you playing the game ?
I used to play it. This is based on stats and reports, only 4 to 10% of the video is based on my opinion, the rest are factual. Some articles are released by Riot themselves.
If It wasnt for the highest ping in india i would choose wild
Devs need to understand that in mobile moba less play time is best. Its just like shot videos you get sucked in the more you watch. Wild rift trying get that pc experience on mobile is laughable.
Even pro players in the Philippine wildrift are switched now on HOK it is a dead game even pro's cant stay.
Dead? It is the highest earning app in China
They hated the idea.
it's dead and wild rift has so many bots and the matchmaking is not balanced
stop defending wild rift 😂
okay im gonna say something that is hard to swallow with some of prideful lol fans/wr fans...
GATEKEEPING THE GAME, some mlbb player want to switch or even to try but those prideful players gatekeeps the game too much
Wild Rift ❌
Wild Whiffed ✅
And they haven't launched it in india
I think its not same in pc ..
Not true, i play Wild rift everyday in the Philippines
I think you only looked at the thumbnail. This isn't an opinion based video. Stats, and articles from reputable sources were used, including Riot's own articles.
Mobile legends is dominating that is a reason
Its because its easier and launched earlier. Wild rift is more beautiful but also more complex and more difficult game.
It need to come to consoles or it will be dead soon.
even PC players hate Wild Rift.
yes it is already dead game to those mlbb fanatic players since wild rift release. 😅🤔😭
This game still alive in china
What a dead game 😆😆
china still have many people play this game
They just need to stop to sell things and start to improve the gameplay 😅😂 simple
I stopped playing this and play Honor of Kings
Ml is dying too at this point
Downhill for sure, but could take many years. They're still at 60 to 70 mill monthly users. For a mobile game, that's huge.
Before they drop their performance to levels of Wild Rift, it could take 5 or more years from now. From 2020 to 2024, MLBB has not dropped their player count. They actually gained 5 million, as oppose to WR which has been stuck in 15 mill monthly users since 2022
Not in ph and indo lol.
Yeah ml is full of bots so i go to wildrift
@@brutalwarjamI think next year the Indonesian MLBB fanbase will lose interest if they get bad results again from their team representatives in M6 later 😅
It's not, it actually break the previous pv record last year in all 3 region (ID,PH,MY)
put it on consoles for fuck sake
I only play mlbb 😅 hok fell off faster than wr .
HoK is a multi server game. The global release is separate from CN. HoK has been in existence since 2015.
No shit sherlock, op literally mean HOK Global, do you think most people even know HOK campared to WR?@@DBringerStreams
Hok was the most boring shit i've ever played.
@@henqjuhh it was fun, just way too much (equipment complicated ). I didn't want to read a book on 1 equipment item. They unnecessarily complicated equipment. I played alot different mobas . This was only one had this issue.
