I'm very frustrated that necro minions last forever until they're killed, but elementals only last for a minute.
boo hoo hoo as a necro i say every class has its perks ,,, im frustrated i am dead last running in a group anywhere.. im like a wow paladin 1/2 a step slower than everyone else.... i ru like a fat kid :(

Counter point, with alacrity you can have more minions, which are also more useful, than most necro minions. (specifically talking raids/strikes/open world)
And tempest can give itself alacrity.
The Bodyguards is a big thing for me. I like having them around, though I wish they stayed like necro minions.

I've only been playing Guild Wars 2 for a week or so (my first ever MMO) and I chose Thief as my profession cause it sounds fun ah. It has a bit of a learning curve but it's super fun being able to shadow step to and away from your enemy

Dont forget the "dying inside for failing a tiny bit in the 30 keymashing rotation that ruins the entire rotation" feels good!
sPvP is where this game shines
I am so used to Warrior - heavy armor, high health pool - that Ele just feels like a death sentence 🤣

Elemntalist, especially weaver is the only class where i want a dps check before they can play it in the static😂

Honestly at times the mesmer js challenging too! It offers a lot of different builds and playstyles
downed state is not an option, it's a requirement
as a reaper i refuse to res elementalists any longer ,. my god i spend more time bring them back than i do dps'ing a boss.... most things sneeze on them and they die dramatically.,, i even quit commanding on my reaper since the fools kept following me into aoe areas i can survive but they melt in

First 3 is the reason I started with ele. Only tempest was avilable when I started, so 4th is out. 5th was great while downstate came with a lava font. Make downstate lava font great again!!!!!!

@@CaffeinatedDad Persisting flames trait gave you 2 things: 1 you gave fury when you blasted fire fields and 2 you casted lava font every time you downed.

Here's a question because I haven't played in a while, did they ever change or update the Engineer downed state in PVE? It was a 99% death in every encounter the way it used to be!
I think they patched that however I haven't done much on my engi recently
Oh so I was just thinking I was bad at the game lol I was like why am I still dying because I have exotic gear and weapons etc.. All skills unlocked blah blah blah and stilllll If I get hit 3 times its over.
no, they have not. downed engi is pretty much dead engi, although with the mechanist pet you do get a slightly better chance, if you've already nearly killed a nearby enemy.

the elementals and conjure abilities have no place in the meta. useless abilities that all need to be reworked.

question, why would i want to play a class were in a raid if your not doing the most dps your usless to team, in pvp if you cant win 1v1s why are you on the team (if your tempest and you cant heal why bother playing), why would i want to play ele in fractal pugs since down state is apart of rotation unless you have good group. and in wvw all your good for is fire staff 5 in zergs and in roaming if your not skilled at game your gonna be ass. so why should i play ele?

@@MrCarlWax no ive played all classes and specs and i know which is good and why its good for certain eles, i dont think reccomending ele is a good thing considering you have to be on a SC/DT or grimjack lvl to play it properly

Apart from the fractal part where you said you need a good group, which isnt that hard to find tbf.
@@FURYzjEh my point was you have to be elite at class for it to be viable in raids/fractals and on NA 80% of fractal players are trash so if your on EU yea very easy to find good fractal group but if your not the best DPS in the team no point in playinf it cause that's all you bring to the team l, very little cc or any Pma things like pushes or stab
@@vant3747 I'm not the pvp/wvw guy but I can assure you that you can have a really decent dps on ele without needing to go full piano rotation.
You can simplify the rotation without losing much dps, especially on weaver.
Weaver specific heal does bring some passive'ish heal to your group. While you dont have the best cc in the game, 5 dagger and 2 sword air do decent cc and plenty enough for fractal as a dps player and if you need more you can bring lightning hammer if really needed for some more cc. (especially for MAMA)
Imo, isince you bring fractal in the topic, if you expect good players to play good dps classes, soulbeast or dh doesnt bring much more then ele unless they master and understand the class too. Sure ele is a hard class to master but so is ranger or guardian to my eyes.
And overall, most of the dps loss from people is actually not really the rotation itself but the dps uptime/how they manage the mechanics and that doesnt have anything with the elementalist itself (while I can agree that it might be easier to handle some mechanics on some others class, Ele does have an ok kit to handle 90% of the mechanics)

I think you mean "when you INEVITABLY get into downed state".
Though, I will say, playing hammer catalyst in pve is pretty damn fun, does pretty insane damage, and has a decent amount of survivability, surprisingly enough.

I can’t decide between Mesmer , elementiist or ranger. I like to heal in groups and be needed.
Elementalist has the tempest elite spec that's very good at healing, but also the Ranger has the druid elite spec that is great st support as well!
If you like to play a healer/support then go for ranger or elementalist. Both of them are very good with supporting their allies with their elite specs from HoT expansion. In general ranger is better for PvE healing, while elementalist is good for both PvE and PvP.
Ranger has Druid class which can be a dedicated heal/support class but Ranger also has several power and condition raid builds. Very versatile.
Mesmer is helpful in a unique way with it's alacrity and quickness generation but also portals!
Both unique classes. Make both and see which playstyle/fashion you like better. 😊
