Honestly, $650 for a ES bb is still a good value if your gonna hold for 5 years
It will be one of the very few five figure value modern boxes
I remember thinking 250$ was high for the moonbreon, and then later being grateful I could trade/buy it at 350$ in value. Its INSANE.
I sold like 3 of them at 450 bucks or so but held onto my 10 copy
I remember seeing moonbreon for sale at my LGS for $200 during release 😢
I remember seeing a Japanese copy at a CGC 9.5 at my LGS for $450. Biggest regret ever.😢
Bit the bullet and bought moonbreon for $600(!) just over a year ago. Didn’t think I’d ever buy a card for that much. Crazy to see it go even higher
The $500 umbreon Vmax is probably a non-English version.

Ross, always enjoy your casting. These alt arts are going nuts. Do you see them correcting or continuing to climb in price and then slow down and climb slowly? I also wonder what this is going to do to the graded cards, especially the PSA 10s. How high would you see those graded cards go?
I'm gonna guess they'll retrace eventually but won't fall down to or below to the prices they were before these spikes. seems to happen most of the time when we get these huge price increases
agreed just look at the tag team boom it exploded but the prices never dropped below to those original ones before the boom @xcyphs

The jumps feel like they're in line with the box price increases this year so far; I haven't checked the graph comp but that feels right

Bought 2 Evolving Skies ETBs last year for around £70 each. Managed to pull the Glaceon VMAX Alt art and didn't realise it's cost. Having seen this now, so glad I've kept hold of it and didn't trade or sell it when I was thinking of doing it before. Evolving Skies is insane.
Picked up dragonite v and umbreon v back in February ($82 and $91)
I doubt that these prices will stay this high for long! I feel that there's been a lot of price manipulation going on ever since Poke Rev-aroom pumped up the Umbreon V alt art.🙄 Heck, if you look at most of the listings on TCG Player, a good portion of this listings are either people trying to sell their foreign copies or PSA slabs!
I'm sure by next year some of these alt arts will drop like a rock. Especially when a good portion of booster packs are still practically available in the wild!

Lesson to my collectors yes I would not buy on release prices for sure, not even a few months after, but once a new gen comes in you better just buy those cards guys. Because you don't know what 2-3 years even after release will look like.

I'm so happy I got my full Eeveelution V and VMAX alt art set when Evolving Skies and Fusion Strike were still on shelves. Only card I missed out on is Gengar VMAX Alt Art
Same. I am so glad I have all eeveelution v and vmax alt art before the recent boom and I pulled my moonbreon and half of them. I do have the gengar which I traded a mtg surge foil LOTR card for last summer.
It is insane how high these card have gotten. I said it once and ill say it again: I regret not buying the umbreon at $200 and thought that was too expensive at the time
I have 3 moonboys- 2 JPN graded at 9 that look like regrades to 9.5 or 10. And a English copy. And i stocked a Massive amount of EvSk. So happy i did

Is more of market manipulate but either way these will be the new price it just accelerate by other people. I mean I do know why price is going to go up due to hard pull rate and lack of product plus great work to boot.
I got the Rayquza Vmax out of my first ever Evolving skys pack, its cool but not a big fan. Wish i could find someone to trade for the Giratina V

I love pokemon but this is the problem i have with pokemon i see so many shorts with poelple buying so many psa 10 versions and that one with like 40 psa 10 giritinas and people just buy them all out at shows and then post it to get it popular and then get crazy return and it screws all normal collectors over pokemon is starting to turn into a stock market and one kids can’t really afford well

Seriously what would be the best way to get my hands on a moonbreon? Open boxes like crazy, massive trade, or save up? Lol
if you have sealed product I'd open some (not all) especially if you have from the first print run I still stand by that rates were wayyyyy better then. The cards itself is going for more than the booster boxes which probably will shoot up soon too if there's even any left out there to make a dent. I pulled mine from blister packs last year I bought for around 300 total. Ended up with a 500+ card that's now over 1k. you could trade too but we're talking valuable cards, vintage, or a huge part of your collection for one card.
Where exactly is the mystery here? It's the most popular set in recent history and went out of rotation in April, making the likelihood of a reprint virtually zero.
I was finally able to get a psa10 moonbreon. Seems like it's going up again!
I still have a BB and 2 ETB of ES as well!
@avina8960 I got lucky I was at an auction where it was a store owner who died. It was 98% sports cards and a sealed case of evolving skies. I won the bid for 200 bucks its the highlight of my entire collection.
I might sell. I have a dragonite, Rayquaza, glaceon and sylveon. And a Leafeon. Have to sell them.

It would be way too late set has come out years ago, none of the cards are legal for competitive play, and we're in a completely new era

It's a three year old set, they wont reprint it because it's out of rotation. At the most it could get a small restock on the pokemon center, but I highly doubt it and even then it's going to fly out so fast it wont make a dent in the market value. All these people whining about card prices can just cry about it, they should have been smart like the rest of us and bought the cards when they were much cheaper I'm so over people whining like babies and thumping the table and demanding a reprint because THEY don't have the cards 😑 You want them to reprint all those 20 year old sets too cry babies? Boo little diddums needs a base set holo charizard it's not fair😭

It's stupid how expensive these cards are. This makes it impossible to master unless you're rich! In my opinion, this makes this the worst set in Sword & Shield!

@@SegaDisneyUniverse You don't need a crystal ball, if you're not quick enough to collect the cards when they are affordable then you miss out, it's that simple. You can't complain about it later on when you had the same opportunity as everyone else to purchase them. When they first came out I balked at the $90 price I paid for my alt arts, now I'm laughing!
