Information:
Location: Stow, OH
Testing: First Saturday at noon (year-round)
Address: Silver Springs Park
Other Enthusiasts Present: Jack (no channel) Emmett (@SDTrains8098 )
Recording Equipment used: Canon Powershot SX540 HS
Other Notes: So for this month's first Saturday I had the opportunity to meetup with Jack and Emmett so we decided to hit up this sentry in Stow. We were expecting it to go for a full 3 minute alert however since Stow just recently moved to a new dispatch center, they decided to shorten the test to only 15 seconds. I'm not 100% sure if this is a permanent thing but this is the first time Stow has ever done this short of a test. Also the DTMF in the background over the two tone came from lordstown which was picked up by Emmett's scanner. Hope yall enjoy!

A light and 2 sirens in the shot 10/10
Holy shit, there's another Emmett in the community who would've guessed
Yeah
Nice vid, interesting little giant in the back too.
Yeah it used to be active until the sentry was put up
They have done that short of a test before, I think the day that Chris went that they did full was a coincidence. Stow I don’t know if they went to the COG with Fairlawn, Cuyahoga Falls and a few others in Tallmadge or not, but siren operations should have remained unaffected by the move as that seemed to only cover 911 call dispatching.
I was told that Stow has been going for a full alert the past few months so I'm not sure why it was shortened this month
When I went to the Model 7 a while back, they forgot and I had to call, the PD lady answered and said "oh they forgot AGAIN, hang on let me to that right now". They did 3 separate 1 min alerts.
Every single time I went to Stow (except for 2020) they've done 3 minutes regardless of whether I called or not. Like Kurt said, if only 911 call dispatching should've been affected they'll probably resume testing for 3 minutes in the coming months, although I will say that the siren is activated by Police and not Fire (or at least comes over the PD frequency) so it could've been hindered but I doubt it. We'll just have to wait and see.
@@SolidSableye yeah if I come back to Stow I'll do the model 7
Nice
Thanks frankie!
What’s that other siren for
Unfortunately, it's no longer used. However, when it was used, it was a tornado siren and possibly a lightning siren.
