i love dubai and i always want to go but the major human rights violation that happens there breaks my heart. like there is this unglamarous side to the place. i just want to love it like my eyes just visually loves this video but i can't help to think of the other side. but dang that place is BEAUTIFUL.
Hey there! It's like any place in the world really. There is always a down side. Having lived in and visited multiple countries, I can assure you that the best thing to do is just to go for it! See the world for yourself and don't just focus on what the "media" tells you about a certain country and/or region of the world. Focusing on that is the best way to stay "still". Traveling and meeting new/different people will totally change you for the better! It will open your mind to the greatness that earth has to offer and you will grow to love it (flaws and all). I hope I motivated you some more! haha ;)
It's a very different culture there, and their legal system is very different too. Westerners should know and respect their laws before visiting. I'm not justifying the violations, and I would never go there alone. As the other commented said, definitely go for it. Carpe Diem! (or YOLO, whatever you prefer)
thanks guys for your comments. i do travel, i do love to visit other countries. i am aware of that the uae has rules and customs. also i am aware of also the exploits of human labour. but the problem is not exclusive to dubai. its everywhere. its just some of the cases caught my attention from that region. a lot of displaced banglasdesh workers and east african workers. but really its not only dubai. maybe i will end up going, maybe i may not go. we will see.
