I’m 47 years of age and had hot wheels and matchbox back when I was a kid, I just started collecting hot wheels here recently and really appreciate the clarification on the difference between a regular and super treasure hunt car. I highly doubt I’ll ever become a hard-core collector, but it’s always nice to know the difference if I ever come across one. Great video! Thanks
As a collector of diecast cars/trucks that I have accumulated over the last 34 years, I have 'em in all scales and manufacturers I admire both HOT WHEELS & MATCHBOX on an equal level. I have a few HWs that have som imperfections to 'em and it has increased their value. Of all the seemingly countless wed sites I have perused , there is one subject matter that seems to go ignored, and that is the VARIATIONS. The respected researcher/collector Mark Zarnoff has issued several publications on the nature of this matter, but I'm hoping I can find a definitive web site that will explore this platform. Your video was highly informative and I deeply respect you efforts. Great job!!
This info is very helpful, its my hobby to collect and i like the premium than regulars. And now i know what to get. Bec i appreciate holding and looking at my cars. And this is cool i finally found honest facts about hotwheels. Thank you
Been collecting since 1997, and Mattel has changed so much since then with their Hotwheel line. The 95s were the 1st series and sooooo easy to search for. Then they changed the green T.H. banner to the right side of the card where it went up and down. Still, those were SUPER easy to look for. Later, they removed the green banner and added a small treasure chest logo to the side of the card, but of course, NOW theyve made things far more difficult than in the earlier years. You have to pay far better attention nowadays. Personally, i buy from other collectors and dealers at shows cause its easy to be scammed by on-line sellers. RLC cars and convention pieces are my personal favorites, but I also have a large T.H. collection and custom made cars, which MANY can look far better than many of the factory produced toys. In addition, the Car Culture cars, or as many of us call em "premiums" are often cool to get but still rare. Lots of people buy em all up, but theyre far more detailed with metal bases and real riders. Theres lots to learn about this hobby, especially if youre looking to venture off intl the older series like the crack-ems, california customs, real riders, hot ones, or even the original red lines on the larger cards of red and yellow.
I just found a f&f track hawk at one of my local krogers, but I still haven't been able to find a treasure hunt or super yet still hunting for them though lol
I’ve only found one super in all my life lol and it’s from 2007 or somthin, I regularly check stores go when they restock and every time there’s nothin. it’s the same for any premium hotwheels too, guess my place of residence just ain’t it for hotwheels but I still pick up what I can. Being a collector ain’t easy
Man really appreciate the videos. It’s going to help me out to find those treasure hunts and super treasure. Hunts a lot quicker. Tried it today and boom right off the bat. Found the Ragin’ Cajun treasure hunt. Appreciate it.
today is my first time to collect hot wheels and I got silver flame 2013 "Chevy" Camero light green 😍 I'm working here in Saudi Arabia and the mall here is to far from my location. thank you for your tips 👍 and im your new subscriber
Its always the workers having the leg up! I still try to go to stores as early and as often as possible. Ive gotten a couple of THs over the course of 3 months. I hope i can get one by at least the end of this year.
Wasnt aware of these despite having collected quite a few now. Just been buying ones that caught my eye. Now I need to take more notice of them. Chances are I have one or two already. Thanks for the heads up.
Amazing thank you. We have been buy our sons hots wheels for so long. My husband has 1000s from the 70s and 80s,90 going to look for supers... Great video
Thank you for sharing this video. I’ve only recently started looking at hot wheels and most of mine are Commons, but I have one treasure hunt that I found for the first time ever so I was pretty excited when I found it I hope you do more videos.
I just found the time shifter treasure hunt at my local Walmart. I kept looking at it and then grabbed it to check it out better and it says treasure hunt right on the car plus it has the flame on the car and the card. It even says on the card behind the car it's a treasure hunt. Only one I have found so far.
I've only recently started a collection I'm still learning the basics I started out just trying to collect sets not knowing about supers or even treasure hunting thos video was nice amd very clear much appreciated
Now I know why there are none hanging up in the stores we get ahold like you in there digging through the crap before it even makes it on the shelf I hope that makes you feel big
Thanks for this informative video. I just started collecting certain hotwheels. The batman animated series car has so many variants. Are the cars somehow different versions or do they repackage the same car from past years? Lastly how do you know how many of said treasure hunt or super treasure hunt cars were made? Thanks
For real it makes no sense either if they are going to be stocking them but just “haven’t got to it yet” wouldn’t that be doing them a solid? Lol now the employee has one less box to stock but then again only like 10% of people would actually be so kind and hang some HotWheels up real quick lol
I don't hot wheels at all and not sure how I came across this video, but it seems like some great information! I will have to meander through the toy aisle. Next time I go out.
I remember being a little kid and having a hot wheels with rubber wheels. it was my favorite. I asked my mom if she could get me more hot wheels with rubber wheels and she had no idea what i was talking about 😅 this was in the 90s, and was a red camero if i remember right... i wonder if it was worth anything
Where can I find best HW value list site? Have my late sons estate collection. Collected for years. All unopened and kept in boxes closets. Need to sell.
My little boy found a car he liked one day and asked if he could have it. I said sure. Later that night we found out that it was the lambo Miura super! It’s been the only one we found in store, and it was an accident!
I have about 600,000 sports cards I have about five thousand comics just started collecting Hot Wheels a couple years ago I have about six thousand of those new in the box my favorite is the cards but Hot Wheels is a real close second I've gotten so many supercars treasure Hunt cars I know what to look for I've studied it's a lot of fun
never found one on a shelf in my local toy stores...in germany...I even never saw those boxes in shelfs...only already displayed blisters, but honestly I wouldn't care...I would open the blister anyway and displayed in my show-case (cabinet) at home... and yes, I wouldn't pay for those HW's 70 bucks on ebay... because it's rare... I buy only if HW's/Matchbox/Majorette/Siku and other cars are on sales/discounts...

Just found the Camaro Super treasure hunt at family dollar.Just like you said it's worth $70 and up! Can't believe I paid $1.25 for it!
Congratulations that’s such a great feeling!!
I have 2 crates of 88 to 90s hot wheels in packages where's a good place to sell these?
@@jacobl8877ebay or craigslist or Facebook marketplace
Who gives you 70 dollars on it ?
just found the exact same one i was jumping and heart beating out of chest, paid $1.18 for mine

POV: Hotwheels Collectors invade a Mattel warehouse searching through every Hotwheels box for a STH car
"SUPER"! Very insightful!! Thanks for this awesome tip!
I've searched Hothweels boxes throughout shops, but i've had no luck
After all, they are rare, and it's unlikely you will find one

It is very hard to find anything since the netflix let's race very popular series. The hot wheels section always empty.
I have a question; does Mattel sells boxes of HW? and, if they do, are there chances to get TH in those boxes?
Great insight pal, keep it up!
