MAN! How did I miss this review until now? I talked with Christian Pasin (Sipario designer) at Musikmesse about this and was interested enough to contact him back in April about buying one, but held off because I was waiting on some reviews or feedback on quality (I'm not usually the "early adopter" type). Appears to be working quite well and with decent reviews from what I've found. Might need to go ahead and buy. Thanks for the quality review Nick.
Great demo as usual, Nick. A little pricey, but powerful for the gigging musician who doesn't want to carry a computer. Nick, it might be cool if you or Gaz did a non-product specific tutorial on how you can use Midi in creative ways, for those of us who are guitarists, and somewhat new to heavy use of midi besides stomp pedal patch changes. You have a great feel for real world uses, obviously
I'm trying to start and stop my drum machine but it seems on version 7.17 which is the current version the RTM is not present ? Any idea if you've update the software since this video , thanks Jackie
Ho il Sipario aggiornato alla versione 6.12 a quale devo aggiornarla e come si fa? Infine chiedo agli esperti come posso pilotare varie tastiere (2 o 3) della suite Arturia. Ho provato, ma nel momento in cui setto i diversi canali midi se suono ad esempio due strumenti software o me ne suona uno o tutti e due assieme...Grazie
For the money I think iconnectivity Mio4 would be better at about $150 USD. You would need to set up routings via a computer though, then it works standalone.
Indeed that is a big selling point. The only thing I think of that comes close is BomeBox which you can access parameters via web interface let's say off an iPad.
I know I'm late to the party here, but can this device map MIDI CC with a Learn function, for keyboards that aren't normally remappable without the use of a DAW, such as the Novation Launchkey 49? Or better yet, can it simply allow me to type in/select custom midi CC values exactly without needing the control accessible on the front panel for a Learn function? Also, can it take midi Input on channel 3 and 4 from DIN Input port 1, and reroute that as channel 1 and 2 on DIN Output 2?
great machine, seems to be just too limited on the number of in- and outputs, for a cheaper and very reliable programmable 8x8 Midi router check out the Alyseum Al-88c
you're right, you need another machine to set it up (you normally do it over network ethernet) but I just wanted to mention it, because there are not that many Midi patchbays around and people new to the business might need them (especially with so much new and cheap hardware on the market)

I second this idea. I'm a midi novice. It's a little overwhelming.
are there alternetives to the "sipario" that have similar (or improved) capabilities, e.g. the "midi platform" from future artist?

yes but this is dynamic, you have multiple patches and setups for recall thats what makes this unique

Thats a good question, I would doubt it as it only sees one USB port even if your device has more than one.

In a word, yes. You can map controllers and also ins and outs.

Sure, but that doesnt have patch change, front panel, stand alone operation, unless I missed something?

not patches, but each patch has up to 8 mappable zones if thats what you mean - they can all be active at the same time
