What other types of Basic Cosplay Videos would you like to see on my channel??? Also, you can find my favorite type of Foam that I use for all my cosplays here: bit.ly/3PVV7sb
Lovely little tips and tricks video. I learned most of it when I started (the hard way) 😅. Hopefully beginners will watch this and not make the same mistakes I did.
Great video! Thanks for the tips! I'm new to cosplay and could use a little help in a project. I'm curious how you would go about making small cones. I need to make about t0 bullets for a TF2 costume. I'm looking at Heavy weapons guy who has a bandoleer over his shoulder with about 50 bullets. The cylinders themselves would be easy to create with 4mm foam, but the tips are giving me pause. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
I do it as an assembly line all at once for one part. I find if I do it over a few days that I am in a different mood/mind set and the cuts then change. Also make sure you have eaten and used the bathroom before hand because if you put it off it tends to make you start to rush and the cuts get sloppy. Hope this helps 😁
for texturing they can use a wood burner/ hot wand/ hot wire/ hot knife but for cutting not really. "Hot/ burning" tools will removed the EVA foam and you will need to do a lot of clean up work to get straight, clean edges
Hi tiffany I actually am going to do the soul evans blade so most of the circles won't need to be perfect like the one for the base where the eye is, is it okay to do them a bit messy and then cover with the layer of foam? and for the like key part i could sand the holes to make them less wobbly?

do you have any tips for when you're trying to stay consistent with cutting out the same pattern multiple times, like to assemble a hat or something?

Hi! May I know where you got the other ruler? The one with handle? (The blue and clear] And what is it specifically called?
You can find it as «finger grip ruler» and Office Depot has them.
That specific ruler I got at Joann's and is more for embroidery
I saw someone on tiktok use a wood burner tool on foam. Other than the fumes, what are your thoughts?

its the Cos-Tools Ruler, see link in the description =]
3a get a boxcutter with a metal blade slide, as the purely plastic ones have atrocious handling.
