Jamie Kellner also canceled Pinky and the Brain, Freakazoid, and Batman Beyond. This man has committed some of the greatest crimes against cartoons in the last 20 years, and he has no business holding being anywhere near an animation studio.
It's like a Donald Duck dvd Collection I have, certain episodes were at a section where the episode starts with some guy explaining that the episode was made during different times.
In my opinion if a kid can't tell reality from cartoon, the parents need to have a nice long sit down with their kid or stop their kid from watching in it the first place. i mean we have all sorts of things to keep kids away from adult media (rating systems, password locks, password locks that work with the F***ing rating system!). I don't really like the fact that I have to go to the adults-only section to enjoy media that's not so shallow and safe i could step in it and not get my shoes wet.
Two-face: as do both of us! In fact, i think we can arrange that! Penguin: Likewise. Joker: Let´s put a smile on that face! Crock: LET´S THROW A ROCK AT HIM!
I remember that cartoon he described where Daffy Duck drank gasoline (it was actually nitroglycerine), swallows a match and exploded, from when I was a kid. It freaked me out back then, but at least the people that wrote it knew a kid like me could potentially be entertained by it and won't seriously think I want to imitate a suicidal cartoon duck. :/
+Jimmy Jamestown Massacre The issue wasn't that they sold it, it was that he dumped it for basically pennies when they could have gotten much more value out of it.
gumbo it was in financial trouble. Everybody was abandoning it. Bishoff said that he was going to buy it to save it but he couldn’t get the investment group together in time
Is this old or recent? I'd guess old from Ant's stronger accent but it's quite timely as last month there were some murmurings about finally putting these shorts on DVD officially. Glad that Ant's more of an animation geek than I am, that's quite a feat. Thanks for posting
Cartoons are for all ages. Some are for adults, some are for teens, some are for small kids. There is always a specific audience, for animation. In the case of Looney Tunes, the cartoons were shown before movies like Casablanca, which is not really for kids, therefore Looney Tunes should be treated as such.
Daffy getting his break shot off isn't wrong it was just the way things were. People were smarter, they knew guns could kill yet there wasn't all this killing, that's why it was funny.
@jamauln1 It isn't about the kids. The issue is trying to ignore parts of history that actually happened, or parts of media that existed. Racial or not, they made these things and so they should be recorded and not ignored. I do agree with the sentiment that maybe you shouldn't be showing these particular excluded episodes to kids but wanting to get rid of them altogether? Nooo.
Oh yeah, I remember that phase when Speedy Gonzalez was quietly buried and the blasts from Elmer Fudd's gun were replaced with a still frame from the cartoon of Bugs Bunny before going back to the animation as the smoke cleared. It was so annoying. Actual depictions of racism and lazy racial cheap shots can be uncomfortable to watch but I'd still never advocate censoring them. Post a disclaimer, I don't care, but don't cut it out.
So you're telling me that this guy Jamie Kellner 1.canceled Pinky and Brain, Freakazoid, Batman The Animated Series, Animaniacs (replaced it with that Histeria B.S.) Batman Beyond 2.Sold WCW to Vince McMahon for pennies on the dollar back in 2001. this guy sounds like a real pc tool.
When did they start editing them? I was born in 91 and remember Bugs the way it was. The fish shooting himself was one of the more funny things I liked.
+Das_Bass I know that CBS started cutting the "violent" gags out of the post-1948 WB cartoons they ran on the BUGS BUNNY/ROADRUNNER SHOW in 1968. Some of the gags were later reinstated in the cartoons, some weren't. There is also THE CENSORED ELEVEN, cartoons permanently pulled due to racial stereotypes or topicality (WWII references).
As a history, they should have showed it. Wtf. But.... I don't get made at cartoons changing tones. Because each generation is different. Rabbit season duck season is funny, but now we have kids actually shooting each other, going online and having cursing matches with loser thirty year Olds. Back in the day, no kid was shooting other kids. Now... It's just different. Thirteen use to mean trying to make out. Now thirteen... you're sleeping around. Sexting. Each generation is different. It's not about not getting it.... Lol. Wtf. During early 90s cartoon, what was most violent thing a kid could get. Blood in mortal kombat? Now you can see beheadings.... The only downer thing about Ant that I hate. He got famous too fast and too early in his life so he never really had to be out there in life for real for real. So he's been able to stick as a man child, which, if he was 19 I'd say, this guy's smart as hell. But being 30, 40, 50 and it's kinda weird.
This is every business though. Every business is being regulated out of existence by our "compassionate" federal government. You're too terrified to make any kind of decision for fear of the damn regulators and their arbitrary power.
In this case I don't think they are being hyper sensitive. Some of those cartoons really are super racist. Watch them online if you really need to see them.
Yeah I think those cartoons ARE important but.... They weren't done in fun lol. Those animators were straight up racist. But everyone in the industry was. But to say it was done in fun.... :/ Yeah not the case buddy. I still find those cartoons important though as a historical look at what was considered okay
PC Culture us running rampant right now. And it's effecting everything. Even more modern cartoons are getting these fucking "Go" versions of everything which is an even more kid friendly version of an already TV-Y7 rated show. Like Teen Titans is gone but you got Teen Titans Go playing 24/7. The real Looney Tunes episodes are gone but you have some weird version of the characters that don't even have the same humor. Tomb Raider can't have big boobs anymore because we're objectifying women. All these movies suck. On and on.
bugs bunny is a hero to me, I loved watching bugs bunny as a kid
This why I love these guys, and why they are so popular. PC bullshit can go pound salt.
To be fair, Histeria! actually got me more interested in history itself, so it wasn't a total loss.
Anthony's Bug's Bunny impression sounds like Larry Fine on helium.
Jamie Kellner also canceled Pinky and the Brain, Freakazoid, and Batman Beyond.
This man has committed some of the greatest crimes against cartoons in the last 20 years, and he has no business holding being anywhere near an animation studio.
It's all about context if the show out right stated that this was just the times they lived in then I be okay with it.
It's like a Donald Duck dvd Collection I have, certain episodes were at a section where the episode starts with some guy explaining that the episode was made during different times.
There is nothing funnier then racist cartoons
In my opinion if a kid can't tell reality from cartoon, the parents need to have a nice long sit down with their kid or stop their kid from watching in it the first place. i mean we have all sorts of things to keep kids away from adult media (rating systems, password locks, password locks that work with the F***ing rating system!).

+1 on you friend. It's been an odd day and I was being squirley. I needed that.
Two-face: as do both of us! In fact, i think we can arrange that!
Penguin: Likewise.
Joker: Let´s put a smile on that face!
Crock: LET´S THROW A ROCK AT HIM!
Kids aren't going to look at those old shows and think of it as a piece of history. They'll just see a cartoon.
All This and Rabbit Stew (1941) is one of these banned classics.
I really miss those old shows.
9:28 I remember seeing that ending as a kid! XD
WOAH Ant does a perfect Bugs Bunny. He's always surprising me.
They had no choice but to sell WCW. It was financially insolvent. That was strictly a business move had nothing to do with morals.
+Jimmy Jamestown Massacre The issue wasn't that they sold it, it was that he dumped it for basically pennies when they could have gotten much more value out of it.
gumbo it was in financial trouble. Everybody was abandoning it. Bishoff said that he was going to buy it to save it but he couldn’t get the investment group together in time
Anthony Bugs Bunny impressions LMAO
God I love all those bugs bunny cartoons and all those Looney Tunes cartoons that were able to actually show people as they are.
it used to be the "winners wrote the history books", now its the "whiners" who rewrite history
Is this old or recent? I'd guess old from Ant's stronger accent but it's quite timely as last month there were some murmurings about finally putting these shorts on DVD officially. Glad that Ant's more of an animation geek than I am, that's quite a feat. Thanks for posting
@PhatBoyMedia This is freaking ancient.
there's money behind everything you see on tv, so if the money people think something could be more trouble than it's worth you won't see it, period

They arent cannibals if they eat a rabbit.

Well done gentlemen, well done. :)

I grew up with blacks as a kid and we all loved these cartoons. I never heard them complain. It offends the liberal whites who have white guilt.
Itchy and scratchy
Thought this would be about the Charlie Hebdo cartoons
the batman cartoon was the best.
Progressivism poisons everything.

Banned Bugs Bunny Cartoons c'mon Why not treat them the same way as us kids growing up with Ninja Turtles and Power Rangers
5:11 wcw was absolutely not making money at that point in time 😂😂 wasn't it like 60 million " disappeared "?
@Coolio867 I thought they were just banning them from tv where kids would see it. Not altogether.
As a history, they should have showed it. Wtf. But.... I don't get made at cartoons changing tones. Because each generation is different. Jamie Kellner should be fired and have Paul Rugg run Warner Brothers original shows….the co-creator of Animaniacs would run that ship right.
Anyone know the date of this clip?
Who exactly is offended by swastikas in a cartoon and why?
This is every business though. Every business is being regulated out of existence by our "compassionate" federal government. You're too terrified to make any kind of decision for fear of the damn regulators and their arbitrary power.
Holy shit, Opie does the best Bugs Bunny I've ever heard.
Anthony
Why did this end mid-sentence, mid-segment? Not very cool.
Same talking points 25 years later but now these snowflakes are banning books
In this case I don't think they are being hyper sensitive. Some of those cartoons really are super racist. Watch them online if you really need to see them.

Opie's being an Animaniacs fan = 100 cool points
