      @burtonater 6 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      It's not okay, but they're out there at that time looking for dangerous driving. 135 km/h isn't legal, but it's safe, at least a lot safer than 188.

    • @Mooseguy15
      @Mooseguy15 6 ปีที่แล้ว +16

      Not really, but if they stopped everyone going 135 KM/h they would stop half the highway. If you look at the speeding fines, anything over 119KM/h is legally considered speeding. But most police don't stop 125/130 because a lot of people are going that speed.

    • @davyrando1203
      @davyrando1203 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      When your frame of reference is 180, 130 is no big deal.
      Most cars on that highway travel at 120, so a difference at 130 isn't that dangerous in terms of speed difference.

    • @fasthighwaydriver59732
      @fasthighwaydriver59732 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Ca l in Europe countries everything considers speeding if you go over 21km or more, in Europe tolerance is 20km cops dont stop for 20km. Let's say in France legal speed limit is 130km plus 20km it will be 150km, you can drive 150km legally in France. In Italy legal speed limit on paid toll highways are 140km-150km plus 20km tolerance its 160km-170km you can drive legally in Italy

If you want to end up dead in a field that's up to you. The law looks at it differently though for good reason I suppose. Even back in the day when we raced our cars on the street we never did it on busy streets. Took it outside the city.

    • @mlps93
      @mlps93 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They usually only fry the big fish (150+) if it's busy since they can impound your car, suspend your license and rack up the most cash. I've unknowingly done 130 past one with his radar gun out the window before and thought I was a goner but he paid me no mind lol

    • @erichhartmann1

      Keenan Mosdell Definitely not a TTC train. There are not windows on it and you can see all the retroreflective strips along the bottom of the train car which aren’t on any of the TTC cars. It looks to me like some sort of 50’ hopper car. Too dark to tell exactly what type but kind of looks like one of those Government of Canada grain rail cars.

      180 isn't even as fast as that car can go. That volkswagen was made for the autobahn and can safely cruise at 200+. It is not that aggressive either, yes there is an increase in risk with traffic around but it is nowhere near the worst thing you can do on the highway.

      Ontario's 400-series highways have some similar designs as autobahns, but they aren't/ain't autobahns. In the US, there's one part of I-45 between Dallas and Houston having a speed limit of 85 mph which is the maximum top speed if an interstate. Most 400-series highways have a speed limit of 100 km/h and a few parts have a speed limit of 130 km/h.

    when people completely ignore all driving rules as we see in Brampton and other cities, unfortunately this will be the results of that. "speeding same as holding a loaded gun and shooting randomly " when we speed, even if it is 10 KM over the speed limit...... no one enforce the rules 10Km will be 20, 30 and ...you get my point. Why we have to wait until a driver is going 50 over! I can't understand. Once a OPP officer told me that it is not worth to stop people for speeding over 10/15 KM!!!! RELAY!!! where I came from you speed you pay the fine you can't afford you will get time, but you will pay, as simple as that .......You can't play with words and get away with that!!!!

    190Km/h is not fast and should be allowed especially since we call ourselves a "first world nation". There are less developed countries with faster speed limits. The difference is that you don't have entitled people thinking they own the road. The left lane is for passing only. Doesnt matter how fast your going, if you aint passing someone then stay in the right lane. That keeps the left lanes open for people to pass. You get aggressive drivers when you have people camping in the left lane doing the speed limit who refuse to move over. Which then forces the faster traffic to have to switch back and forth between lanes.

    If the cars are able to do those speeds people will continue to speed stopping and charging will do nothing people will always speed. If cops catch a few there will always be the ones they dont. If cars can go no faster than a hundred km then there would not be as many problems. But its big money for the car manufacturing companies and big money for the government by fines its a win win for all. But you will only hear what about the victims unfortunately the people driving at high speeds dont care.

      the problem is people are too conservative. I live in a city where people drive like 10 to 20 under, and complain so much about 'fast driving'.

      Yikes I hope you live north of the border. Cell phones, kids, pets etc., people aren't paying attention no matter how fast their going. In Germany it's called the autobahn, everybody is setting land speed records. In USA and Canada their is a posted speed limit and their is a dangerous mix of people going slower, obeying and exceeding the posted limit. What you said has gotta be one of the dumbest things I've heard.

      @jonjory3369 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Have you ever tried reacting to something like a lane change (either with or without a signal, because both are prevalent here in Canada) at that kind of speed? The human brain can not react to things up ahead when you are travelling at that speed and that is why driving at 188 is considered dangerous.

    • @jakethunderbird8735
      @jakethunderbird8735 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      So? Canada doesn't base their laws off of the German autobahn. Your point makes no sense. 188 kmph is too fast for anybody.

    OPP fakes speeding offenses. It happened to me. They can say they clocked you doing 10,000 km/h and then it's always their word vs yours in court. And the judge will always take your money and side with the cop.

      @@nikolai3620 Lol. Ok kid. I got a speeding ticket when stuck in traffic and doing 20 km/h under the speed for 10 min prior to being pulled over. A real speeder called a cop cuz he got stuck behind me and another truck and told the cop I was speeding. The cop then said she clocked me on radar speeding, but she really went by what the speeder said and because she can't read a logbook and knows nothing about time zones, even though she said in court she worked as a traffic cop for 15 years. And yes I got convicted by a crazy judge.

Someone had called me in for something I did not do and the cops power tripped when they stopped me later. Its complete bullshit. Seems like you can call in any driver you do not like, and they will get formally fucking paged about it, could even get a ticket apparently. Its ridiculous.

    I was told by a high ranking OPP officer that you can go 20 km over the limit and also 20 under. They can also serve you a warning if you are higher or lower than that. I truly think this is wrong, you have to draw the line somewhere. Speed limit signs are put on our streets and highways for a reason. Public safety comes into question if someone is driving way over the limit. As tax payers, we pay for the use of the roads we travel, they should be safe to travel following the guidelines of road safety.

    They punch in what ever numbers they want into their radars. they convicted me of doing 103 km/h in a 90, though 10 minutes prior to being stopped (some speeder called them who was doing 150 km/h and got stuck behind my tractor-trailer) I was just following traffic at 70 km/h that was getting heavy at the beginning of a rush hour so obviously couldn't jump over cars with my truck to be doing 103. The cop got this from calculating distance and time knowing nothing about log book rules and time zones and then testified in court she picked me up on her radar doing 103.
