I guess they played maybe for an hour, little less? This was a little over 2 years ago so I really don’t remember all the details. The Utah music community is such a tight knit group of people who just hype each other up, it’s really quite an amazing experience! We used to have something called Rooftop Concerts where Utah musicians could come and perform! I found out about a ton of dope bands that way. Plus, The Backseat Lovers actually performed once! I got to buy a shirt from them there that I wear all the time haha. OH! And if you’re ever in Provo, definitely come to a Velour concert. I got to see TBSL there once too and it was amazing! Such a dope vibe with amazing singers. I’ve been going there since I was 10!
I like how the lead singer is rocking kind of a Dave Grohl shirt look but the drummer is totally clean-cut with a preppy shirt and jersey his mother may have purchased for him. I think these boys will go far.
i see a trend in a lot of indie bands, they focus more on songwriting and feel and then they’ll sometimes lack in instrumental quality, where as you guys don’t sacrifice anything, instrumentals, vocals, writing, it’s all amazing. plus the guitarists can actually solo very very well which is rare in modern indie. all in all this is by far the best indie i’ve ever listened to, y’all are gonna go far.

There’s this guy. He’s the exact opposite of me. We dress completely opposite, like if we stand next to each other it’s almost comical. He’s an extrovert, very bubbly and social, and of course, listens to completely different music than I do. But there’s something about him. His smile and his laugh make me smile. i think one of my favorite things about this band is that in every live show or video, josh (singer) uses the same guitar, unlike other bands that have many different guitars for tone and stuff, josh uses the same red guitar , you can also notice the same guitars used by kj and jonas too. this just shows that there not in it to look cool but that they genuinely love creating music and showing people their art.
I saw this car about a year ago and one of the stickers on the back window was for this band, and at the time I only knew (and loved) this song. So glad I decided to check out their other music. Wish I could hear this for the first time again!

i remember when i found The Backseat Lovers in the "Fans Also Like:" section of..Wallows.. or Dayglow? i can't remember which, but honestly, that was March 2019, they had 30-40,000 listeners, and i remember this was the first song i heard by them. instantly in love. This song, this entire band, really, takes me back to 2019, such a brilliant year thanks to these guys in part. Love your stuff and always will!

i think one of my favorite things about this band is that in every live show or video, josh (singer) uses the same guitar, unlike other bands that have many different guitars for tone and stuff, josh uses the same red guitar , you can also notice the same guitars used by kj and jonas too. this just shows that there not in it to look cool but that they genuinely love creating music and showing people their art.

I remember telling you about this song on the phone and I think you died a little inside. i wanted to sit just on that edge of the bridge (the bridge you always said you'd take me to when you were finally able to drive. 2 months and counting baby, "I get it the week after camp.".) and listen to this song, wishing for another mundanity to break through with another destination. i wanted to dance to this song in the undercovers of the buildings you'd always tell me we'd explore together, speeding 180 on the highway just to be somewhere so significantly insignificant with a 35mm point and shoot you never understood the purpose of ("digital photos are always way better."). I think I idealised you so much i disappointed myself. and when the time came, you faded away as fast as the hours we spent in the arcades. you always liked standing in the front of trains. now I break when I see them. i know in all technicality we still talk, but i miss you more than you'll ever know. but I can't tell you that. not now, not ever. we never got to play that giant game of hide and seek where we're team up and run off together. 16 and I don't know much but I know I miss you and this song breaks my heart every time I listen to it :).
