I’ve had it all wrong for many years. Those people who pick through trash barrels and dumpsters were actually sorting - for the good of the planet. I curse my microbiology education for making all this seem unclean. ‘Can’t wait to sort my peelings and egg shells.
Its coming to a joke.10 flats, 9 rented who do not participate. We emptied bin last week containing 1 orange. Landlords do not give a rats. The more investment places sold, the more ignorant and non caring tenants and landlords.
If they dont participate and food in in landfill start fining i say Start at price of 1ton of landfill and increase it for each repeat offence 😂 Easy way to find out whos putting food in is a xray scanner in landfill truck hopper thats target is plant and food waste
O we are so happy with these... 5 different ones on a row in my small garden, looks great 🤔 One for paper, one for leaves and food, one for old clothes, one for plastics and a BIG one for other trash!
That is correct, councils have various colours and restrictions depending on where you live. For instance I have the red yellow and green though im not allowed to put food scraps in there, only plant material. But that doesn’t matter to me as I have worm farm+compost.
@@tomp.55 yet most food comes from plants So by the logic of plant materials you could put Paper Cardboard Fruit and veg Etc In it lol And fyi by 2030 at latest all aussie councils must have Fogo (or food allowed in the green organic bin) Yellow for recycle Red for landfill Some councils tho will have 4 or 5 bins depending on state
Wonderful, now my rates will go up for owning one, for doing the right thing. Building back better & paying for it. You can stick ya bin, I’ll be returning mine & have my rates reflect it. Our area doesn’t even get Council clean ups twice a year. 1 clean up now, booked, after that, pay.. 🖕🏻
@@southaussiegarbo2054 You can hope, but in my lifetime I’ve never seen anything reduced. Once they have the revenue, game over. Remember the GST, they said they would reduce the sales tax on products, etc. Never happened instead they just slapped a extra 10% on top of the already marked price, when actually the product, should have had the sales tax removed, then the 10% added. Like that ever happened! Councils are greedy & corrupt. Get back to me if you ever see a reduction once you get your bin.
@@Velishea fun fact we had had fogo since 2008 😂(but green waste since 2005) and rates havent changed much at all. Maybe a little more but that links to epa putting up landfill costs but if we got rid of landfill and went to waste to e energy then rates would definitely drop going off what has been reported......btw my council allows free extra fogo and recycle bins so yeah(and loads have taken it up) Fyi food and garden organic in landfill is number 1 in green house gas emissions
Move to Bayswater WA. We get 3 blue skips per unit per year ; 3 green skips per unit per year. White goods, mattresses and large electronics reported to council are also collected. Saves a lot of mucking around and keeps the place tidy (except for ignorant tenants!)
Who invented this one Dan Andrews & the usual criminal suspects?
2023? Its 2024 and I dont have a FOGO bin yet!

Our fogo bin takes shredded paper, pizza and Maccas boxes, any food-soiled cardboard, and garden stuff all in the ssme fogo bin.
I do not understand as I already have one? Do some councils not have green bins?

Your rates will go down actually
Bc less waste into landfill = less cost to council meaning less to be passed on

Dislike.
Wonder how much CO2 was produced in the making of these
Propaganda
No its not
If you put food scraps in with normal trash it helps the normal trash break down quicker.
You are an idiot
Plastic etc never breaks down fully no matter what
