Well, that was rowdy. I read "rowdy" and scrolled back up and saw the ROCKSHOX logo and had a flashback.... It was 1996 and I was on a late night ride in my city on a Giant with RockShox.... I pumped hard on the street to get speed and coast (2nd on the left and 7th on the right) probably going at least 30MPH - I looked ahead and in my mind the street was clear - so that I could coast and lean over and look at my tire from the side because it felt a little low. While I was looking at the tire I saw just a sliver of a bumper....... nest thing I knew, I woke up in front of the car. The fork uprights had ripped right through the aluminum rings - fine mist blood spatter was on the bike frame (which was still behind the car). It must have been quite the RAG DOLL - wish I had that on video! ONE of the street lamps was off (in a cycle to conserve bulbs) and parked directly beneath it IN THE BIKE LANE was a little black sedan. I took out the entire back window with my FACE. And broke what I thought were unbreakable shocks! 27 stitches, 3 of them deep tissue and some gnarly road rash!
Wow Your boy BK and his crew starting as they finished off Crankworx last. year absolutely. amazing performance. by Jenna and an even special performance by JJ back-to-back wins doing it for Stevie Smith The great man would be so proud knowing that his legacy lives on in in so talented young Canadians
I think this is the best crankworx downhill that I've seen. Great course, plenty of the best riders and great racing. Rob and Eliot are the best at doing this. All hail red bull (and the egg)

Well done, this was an enjoyable and thrilling broadcast. The energy, insight, humour and respect for these amazing athletes and the sport, were on full display through Elliot and Rob's excellent trailside analysis and commentary, (I'll let you figure who does which yourself). But a seriously well organized event, with a world class production, that still felt like home.
It really is a shame that rob warner is no longer commentating on the dh world cups, the time he takes to talk to the riders in the pits to give us the best info on the athletes giving us the most personal insights of the race is truly missed
The womens runs are inspiring, thats a long damning track and none of it easy. I cant even jump as well as they do. You can hear the adoration in the announcers voices, we love watching the ladies crush the course.
those red lines helped a bunch - did take me a second to see them though as i'm colour blind. Maybe put them in yellow or soemthing that jumps out more hahaha
I just realized that there was a big section that was not showed in the official transmition, hence the first part of the race was not live!! when the time magicaly appears is when start to being live. you can see the differences between the POV and the official transmition.
Not a super popular event for French DH riders because it is far away and super expensive (bring the team, bikes, rent vans) just for one minor race. Crankwork Whistler ( aka Whistrelia ) is mainly a Commonwealth MTB game with the US. A few French freeriders and slopestylers come but that is it. I have been to the Whistler Crankworks for 10 years it is amazing but the trails are getting destroyed lol
What is the rationale for cutting away when a rider crashes? Obviously everyone is concerned and wants to see if he's OK. Obviously you've got cameras right there that you could show. Why don't you show them so everyone can see what's happening? I also find it weird that the commentators don't explain why they cut away.
@@growlith6969 True, that might partly explain it, but it's not them that decide when to cut away, so there's other factors at play too. If they fear the worst I'm sure they'd also like to see if the rider's moving, unconscious, standing, etc.
UCI downhill only has one advantage: the voices are so BORING, first my son sleeps and then me. after around 3-4 minutes. every german downhill fan misses Rob !!!
I really DON'T like it and it's pretentious when they "throw away" the bike after the finish :( he went down the track with that iron, don't throw it away!
elliot seems to just make up silly stuff up outta the ether....hes turning with his knees...he's trying to clear the rocks...hes lifting his legs...uh. no chit bro! They all are!
rider crashes. Elliots response...."seems like that came out of nowhere". it's not like the guy was on his bike going full blast down a hill as fast as possible but yeah, token announcer...it came out of nowhere
This live is 1000x better than UCI WC , bring back redbull on wc 🙏
Definitely
Crankworx is the one to watch for DH now and with Rob and Elliot makes it even better ...UCI take a look !!
100% the UCI footage is terrible
Won't ever happen. UCI is about money and that's it

a real downhill track!
Has never been and will never be another Rob Warner 🤙

its good to see a real downhill track again ❤🔥
The mid part of the track is crazy but the rest is meh compared to Val di sole or Champery. Lost my front wheel a couple time on the dust.
Jenna, well deserved win, rode like a winner all the way! Jacob, what can anyone say? Fantastic racing.
That was a great race and a great presentation....Thanks for everything.
Its been a pleasure to watch. Like in the good old days when RedBull presented downhill. Cheers everyone. Mountainbiking is
Red Bull I truly appreciate your sports initiatives. Thanks!
THAT is a proper DH track. And THOSE are proper commentators...
If 5010 supports Danny Hart then I'm supporting 5010 and I encourage you all to go out and pick up a GT.
You’re awesome ❤

Great to see some coverage thanks @Red Bull Bike 👍
Simply incredible!!

Better broadcast than UCI
I agree, but I really like Aaron’s commentary in the booth this season and during the end of last season. He sees details no one else picks up on.
2:30:31 was hectic - any updates? Fingers Crossed he's all good!
Last radio call I heard was lower back / chest pain but he was sitting and talking to patrollers. It was a nasty one but I'm glad he's mostly okay
Update he's all good but bruised, no breaks anywhere
Man! That was incredible!
Well done jenna🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
I hope the trackitects that decided to put pads where they did get a raise. Job well done guys!
We put up as many as we could find, and there is still more spots we'd want them! I'm glad the b-nets haven't had to be tested yet too haha
@@FinduroVR Well keep it up, you are literally saving careers of some of the most talented riders in the world.
@@JayRebel thanks dude, that’s why we do it! Best to make a course that gnarly as safe as possible
Ronan Dunne, what an animal 😂
I'm surprised Bernard kerr has not been on the tour full time I think this kinda racing would suit him down to the ground
It’s goes as Rob says, even mid run, your done!
We need RB back for the UCI WC
🏴🔥🔥🔥🏴
Goddamn I love Rob Warner so much
All these young people are stoked. How do I get stoked?
The J & J show!!
1:25:02 "definitely not feeling a 100% .." .. camera turns to the rider wearing a entire 100percent gear
I'd love to see a Retro DH race Companies bring back 2006-2008 bike Geo for a world cup race.
Why??? bike are way better and faster
To see if the skill and speed has gotten better or if it's really just the bikes. Also it just is cool to show how far the sport has come.
Spoiler for winning times:
Fastest female run: 4:13.219
Fastest male run: 3:23.721

They were very shaken, had no idea what to say, I think they feared the worst but had to keep the show rolling.
