Seems an intelligent, articulate guy. Nice to see a footballer able to talk without constant resortion to 'y'know', 'obviously' and 'to be honest' every few words.
Most of them probably go to words or phrases like that a lot because they're nervous being interviewed. And if you don't just mean British footballers, English obviously isn't their first language.
You can't make a judgement on someone's intellect on a 5-10 minute interview.
