Jesse Lingard opens up to Soccer AM's Tubes about his first heroes, Sir Alex Ferguson and how he ended up at Machester United
Ahead of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's first game in charge of the club when they travel to Cardiff this afternoon, at 5.30pm, Lingard spent some time with Tubes to discuss his football firsts - including how he found out about his first England call-up in 2015.

Because they have small, unimaginative minds. And they're kind of daft. They can't fathom that someone can post a clip of himself pranking Rashford or doing a little dance move, while at the same time being a professional and giving it his all on the training ground and on the pitch. This despite having dedicated his life (these slouches wouldn't have a clue as to what that means or what it took, and takes)-since the age of 6 apparently!-to football. Also: they're not too satisfied with their own lives, are they? I've never known people who feel good about themselves put others down... On the contrary. So, one could say that they reveal quite a lot about themselves... Good thing the internet is anonymous, eh?

I think Lingard can still improve his decision making on the pitch and shooting under a manager that plays him in a system that builds on his strengths. I hope he gets a chance to play as a no. 10 in 4-2-3-1 formation under Solskjaer.

If there's anything Solskjaer has to teach, it's being clinical. Because, daymed. I watched that 30-min clip of all his goals for United the club put up (thinking I would check out a handful, maybe the first ten of his goals-and then I was glued for the whole clip (and needed a cig afterwards)), and bastard what a player! Jesus Christ. "Baby-faced assassin" indeed! The great thing was that after every single goal he had this happy "look what I did!" look on his face, almost like a child. One of his teammates - and that's from _that_ (goddamned) team - said that he was "the most clinical player i've ever seen."
@@grytlappar I also think he was technically very gifted as a striker, he could finish with his instep, outside part of the boot, laces, head. He could definitely teach them shooting.
