I used to work at Party City, so I've got a little bit of experience when it comes to tying balloons lol
I know it's super scary because it may pop, but wrapping the balloon tip around two fingers then pushing the little nub between your two fingers, to tie it, is the easiest most efficient method. It's rare that it pops using this method though.
This may be useless info because of your fear of balloons, but it's here in case you ever do another balloon kit again hah

That's exactly how I do it.
I don’t know if it’s just because I’m weak or I’m doing it wrong, but every time I’ve tried to tie a balloon, I’m never successful.
I feel like the burger kit would be a great activity to bring on a long flight with a kid. It requires no tools or sharp objects of any kind, can be put away really quickly without messing it up, is pretty much mess free, and super lightweight. And it seems to keep turbulent kids busy for a while (looking at you Sika !). Verdict ? Meh ! But should be sold in airports, not in target 😆

I'd like to say, the diagrams for the balloon kit *does* show how much the balloon should be blown up. At the top of each of the squares, it looks like there's a drawing for each balloon showing the approximate sizes for the different sections, the order they should be in, and the amount of 'space' to leave on the closed end of the balloon! However, I agree, you can get more balloons for way cheaper most likely and easily find step by step visual+verbal instructions on youtube, so... there's really no reason to buy that 'kit' lol.
EDIT: also with some of these kits that use pigments/colorants/dyes... I'm confused, it seems you often use colors that mix very poorly ie. purple and orange, or use several colorants and it ends up obviously muddied. I understand with the soap kit, it said you could use several colorants, but I imagine even with the less than ideal instructions on mixing (seriously, why instruct to mix it in the mold and now the microwave safe jar?), better color combos would still make an at least acceptable result. That's clearly personal preference, but I've seen it in this kit and a previous kit where you make the DIY crystal pendants with the ink and cotton inside. I guess I'm just confused why you ended up choosing color combinations like that -v-;
Tbh a lot of the time in these kits she seem like she sabotages herself. like that plastic bag monster kit (not reading the box and then “raging” about it not including plastic when the whole point was to recycle) Or in this video the balloons. Obviously if you hate/are scared of something you’re gonna have a huge bias against said thing and not have fun. And then like you said, those soaps. sometimes it’s hard to watch her trash on kits when she’s the one who’s actually “doing it wrong.”
JayLeeBeanz that’s a valid point! And I know no human is perfect, even if that wasn’t the case, I wouldn’t be angry even if it was just purely for entertainment purposes. Jackie works very hard! And like anyone is having a hard time right now for a myriad of reasons. My comment was meant for both other viewers benefit of pointing out a few details, and a question, because it might be more clear that that was her intention if she mentioned age range and how that plays into how effective instructions would be like that more often.
Regardless, I do see your point of view for a returning viewer, but I guess I was thinking of the perspective of a one-time or fresh here from the algorithm viewer.

I've been a professional balloon artist for 10 years. Almost no one blows them by mouth, for many reasons. Definitely use pump. It takes time, you did well!

You have to have the embachure of a trumpet player. Make sure your cheeks don't inflate! Keep them in, and they'll hurt less

I personally have never popped a balloon when making a balloon animal (and I was 12-ish when I learned). You just have to squeeze 'em a little to make it easier to twist and fold.
I think quality plays a huge part too. The batch I have on my hands right now pop no matter what I do 😂

This gives me a serious surge of memories from my childhood. My younger sister had gotten a balloon animal kit- I believe from the dollar store when we were tater tots. It was so much fun just blowing up the balloons and twisting them into random shapes and forms.

I had a balloon animal kit when I was a little grain. it's definitely nerve-wracking making the first ones because you're afraid they're going to pop any second, but after a few you get the hang of it and make some really weird looking "animals". The instructions I had were a lot more helpful and instructive on how to make them, even telling you how to hold the bubbles in your hand while you twist other parts of the balloon and how big to make the bubbles.
Jackie, have you ever considered putting out your own craft kit (because we all know you'd make the best craft kit with legit quality products)? You should consider it - I'd buy it right away!

My girlfriend makes balloon animals and yes almost all tutorials she’s read and watched tell you how many pumps to pump the balloons for each animal. So yeah that’s a disadvantage. And like you said TH-cam is such a great resource for it. Also that sound of the balloons being twisted together drives me wild and I act like such a baby when she does it lol. But she is quite talented so I’m proud of her talent.

Balloon tying is easiest if you loop it around your middle and pointer finger and slip the end through along the crack between the two fingers.

With the balloon animals, you twist the twists together... Where it shows bringing the bits together, where you twisted it for the individual bubbles, you twist it together there. It's tricky at first but pretty simple with a little practice.
Watching with my senior Shiba Inu is a good way to spend the afternoon.
