Classic vibes, Modern performance. This GM Performance 650hp LT4 powered 1968 Chevy Camaro Is Gunning For Muscle Car Of The Year. One key to success with an automotive build is to start with good raw material, and this Camaro was a nice driver when the owner brought it to us. Once the Camaro was in the hands of ProtouringTexas.com. Our crew completely disassembled the drivetrain, suspension, interior, and wiring. The paint and body were in excellent condition. With all components removed, fabrication began with fitting the massive 10L90e transmission into the camaro's transmission tunnel. No easy task, but well worth the effort. With the LT4/10L90e combination fitted, a full compliment of suspension upgrades from Speedtech Performance were added, including double adjustable Viking shocks and a torque arm three link rear suspension w/ panhard bar. This horsepower level requires the ability to slow everything down fast, thats why a set of Pro+ 6 piston caliper, 14 inch rotor stopping gear were used from Baer Brakes. With everything installed we could move to exhaust, Ultimate headers was first on the list to find a set of high quality header for the LT4. They sent the closest thing available for fitment and we went to work modifying them to fit the fast ratio steering box and subframe. Next up was a quick call to Ticon industry's for a truck load of prepped and ready to use mandrel bends, to complete a hand built stainless steel exhaust. Completing the drivetrain, we used a Holley Performance wet sump accessory drive along with a wiring harness and flashed factory pcm, tcm, and fpm from Speartech. The interior of this Camaro features a lot of desirable factory options, including the walnut woodgrain steering wheel, woodgrain dash trim, and console with special instrumentation from Dakota Digital (amps, temp, oil, and fuel), plus power windows, power steering, upgraded AM-FM-Bluetooth radio, and air conditioning that's upgraded with a Vintage Air system and smooth firewall.

I have a 73 Nova, it would a blessing to the works done by you Guys... You're just the way I like it!!
Solid ride. Even better in person!
You guys are now my favourite superheroes! Hands down - EXCELLENT build!
Modern classic for me is a 60's throwback without the 60's drawbacks. And this tick all the boxes for me.
Im a fan of this car. Love it. Beautiful
Beautiful car! The best part of the video is @5:16 - I laughed pretty hard at that. Pretty clever.
Another bad ass build ! Sweet shots of this beaut 😎. Love the humour as well 👍🏻👍🏻

Super clean setup! Great job fellas!
Another great video, as always. I really like what you guys are doing. Keep 'em coming.
I said it once and I'll say it again, that's the way you build a cowboy out of Texas, like you said the devil is in the details beautiful car bro
Lovely vehicle.
goonzquad tap in
Epic car
Love the car, needs to be a little lower, but the kid comes off as kind of a "look at me, I think I'm cool", kinda attitude
😂
He’s young, but always learning. Hopefully the car speaks for itself.
Who wrote the script for this? 🤣🤣🤣
All that work and didnt even oil the door hinges..
I thought the same thing. Especially after the “details” remark.
How much budget did put in it to build that beautiful car

My biggest question concerns the gears. How did you get it to fit and how can you manage 10 gears with just a horseshoe shifter?
Lots of fabrication and a shift cable.
I am indeed suffering from not having a modern classic. :(
Looks awesome! What size wheels and tires?
18x9 245/275
@@protouringtexas Thats probably the best looking f body camaro I've seen. I like that you kept the classic look.
