Your video brought back memories for me always went to Fleetwood with my parents in the 60s and early 70s I have many photos of Fleetwood and the pier was there then you could walk around the docks and buy fish I remember Woolworths and the old picture house and Fleetwood market the ferry went to the isle of man and docked at Douglas we went twice 1972 and 1973 great days .
Morning Jane thank you for another great video as always I've been to Fleetwood lovely place the lifeboat people do an amazing job loved that shop very nice looking like nice weather today have a lovely day xx
Thank you so much for the little shout out for my shop MARY, TOM & friends. We’re doing some renovation work at the moment so currently closed - hopefully re-opening soon. We look forward to welcoming you in when we do open again. Thanks for your fabulous videos - you are so knowledgeable and we learn new things with every video xxxxx
Hi, I've been meaning to say for a while how much I love your videos. I love your down to earth approach and your voice and manner always cheers me up! Keep up the great work x
Thank you, Visit Fylde Coast, for a splendid start to the week with this lovely vlog. I am really looking forward to travelling with you on the Knott End ferry. It is something I mean to do every time that I have visited Fleetwood but I was always distracted by a unique piece of architecture or an event happening, if I had been able to have a fortnight's stay in Fleetwood I'd not have exhausted the wealth of interest. Looking around or above the obvious always provides answers or more questions. We owe so much to the lifeboat heroes. I have always believed that people who use the sea with vessels above a certain length ought to pay something toward the lifeboat service just as I have the unpopular belief that those who walk or climb in our national park ought to pay towards mountain rescue teams; again staffed by volunteers. Like firemen and firewomen they risk their lives and deserve to be recognised and rewarded. Medals and entry on a roll of honour are not enough. Many of our volunteers, whether it be on missions of mercy on the high seas or taking care of beaches or planters and flower beds in towns have been affected by the pandemic, losing jobs and maybe even their houses sometimes; they still turn out and they are all heroes, each and every one.
Thanks Jane for another enjoyable video. Don't give up on trying to grow your sea holly. Try to duplicate its natural growing conditions....which would be poor soil. Maybe, your own soil is too fertilized? Experiment with growing it in a pot first with a handful of poor and unattended sandy soil..as they like good drainage and position it in a sunny spot. I've lost my broccoli this year to the heatwave....it bolted...grrr! It's much too warm for any cool climate vegetables. I needed to mulch the roots to keep it cool...which I didn't, as I've been busy prepping our gates for painting. Nevermind, the flowers belonging to broccoli are a delight to see and will provide me with an abundance of new seed for next year's plants.
Very possibly the problem, it’s also very clay too. Currently it’s baked as hard as rock! We had a packet of sprouting broccoli the other week - blooming with pretty yellow flowers which we ate!
Yeah I remember the queside nightclub just by the roll on roll off, good music but the loos were always flooded. I went to the Isle of man on the paddle steamer from there as well. Awesome. Shame about the old kipper shop.
Another great video Jane. We regularly cycle to Fleetwood from Little Bispham. A trip on the ferry is also on our to-do list. Maybe next week when we are staying a full week with our eldest granddaughter?

I love the ferry cafe for fish and chips not been for 2 years but last time I came it was nice and reasonably priced! But I definitely could recommend
